Canadian Interim Government

Good afternoon,

The recent drama, being what it has been, may have some people concerned about the present state of the Government of Canada.

The new President, as some of you may know, is currently dealing with a personal matter and may not be back full time to Erepublik for at least another week. A group of Congressmen and former Prime Ministers have taken the time over the last 24 hours to prepare an interim government to handle Canada’s current obligations, financial, military, and political.

Please rest assured, the continuity of government under the Speaker, myself, and Congress has not ceased and despite the current financial losses, we are still in a position to meet ALL of our financial arrangements. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me and I’ll do my best to quickly respond.

A major focus of the interim government will be a re-evaluation of how much money is kept and where, and on how best to maximize security going forward. Let me assure everyone that because of this theft Canada has no plans for increasing taxes. As far as we are concerned, it is neither necessary nor appropriate at this juncture.

Personally, my sympathies at the moment go out to President Aeriala, and I wish him as much time as he needs before he returns to take up the Presidency.
