A pledge for civility

Day 684, 19:40 Published in Japan Japan by TheMakoto

Today I do not come with many words to you (which might be a good thing if you dislike walls of text). I merely wish to make it known that I hope that everybody will behave in the appropriate manner during the elections tomorrow, that people will respect each other during and after the progress regardless of the outcome and that the electoral process can be conducted in a spirit of harmony and unity, where equals compete in a fair and unbiased fashion.

Do not engage in bickering! Do not resort to hatred! It is unworthy of the conduct expected of a Japanese citizen.

The Emperor wishes you all peaceful and exciting elections. May the people make the right choice!
