Beste burgers van eNederlands,
Met dit artikel verklaar ik deel te nemen aan de presidentsverkiezingen van 5 augustus.
Waarom zou je op mij stemmen?
Ik sta binnen eNederland bekend als een controversieel figuur. Ik speel het politieke spel met alle mogelijke middelen die tot mij zijn. Mensen zijn kritisch op mij voor verscheidene redenen. Ik ben verschillende partijen begonnen, welke binnen mum van tijd de grootste en belangrijkste partijen zijn geworden (Libertas, in het verleden Vrij en Veilig Nederland, The Dutch Progressives), door het opzetten van een hevige wervingscampagne - tot argwaan van sommige andere partijen. Sommigen vinden mij arrogant, maar ik ben 'straight to the point' wanneer het over verspillende en nutteloze gebeurtenissen gaat, zoals de recente Resistance Wars. Anderen zullen aan mijn integriteit twijfelen, omdat zij ver terug in de tijd kijken toen politieke omstandigheden het mij onmogelijk maakte 100% me in te kunnen zetten.
Hoe dan ook, ik geloof dat ik meer dan geschikt ben voor deze positie. Ik heb deel uitgemaakt van bijna ieder ministerie en instituut in eNederland in de afgelopen 3 jaar. Behalve dat ben ik ook altijd actief geweest binnen de community. Verscheidene dingen die ik heb opgezet en/of geïntroduceerd, zijn nog steeds aanwezig op het moment van schrijven. Bijvoorbeeld, het fundament van de Coaching Sector, onze immigratiedienst en de ambassades kunnen deels aan mij toegewezen worden. Resultaten in het verleden bieden echter geen garantie voor de toekomst! Daarom zal ik een kleine lijst met plannen geven, in het geval ik de verkiezingen win:
Plannen/Doelen
Onderhandelingen met Polen
De vorige regering (ElGorro III) probeerde over een verdrag met de Poolse bezetters te onderhalen, zodat wij op z'n minst van ons eigen land kunnen leven. Die onderhandelingen zijn onderbroken, toen de Polen de mogelijkheid van een betaling opbrachten (waar ons Congres absoluut niet mee eens is). Ik zal echter proberen opnieuw onderhandelingen te openen met de Polen, om te kijken wat de mogelijkheden zijn: Ik zal niet per definitie tegen betaling zijn (welke immers ook particulier kan worden betaald), als dat een eNederland op de wereldkaart betekent.
Allianties
Momenteel is er nogal veel gedoe over de mogelijkheden wat betreft allianties. De vorige regering had gesprekken gestart met de alliantie 'Asgard', terwijl anderen wijzen op de mogelijkheden om nogmaals lid te worden van EDEN. Ik ben van mening dat we de gesprekken met Asgard moeten voortzetten, om te kijken wat lidmaatschap ons biedt in vergelijking met andere allianties. Daarnaast moet er in mijn ogen eerst afgerekend worden met het 'Poolse probleem' voordat we ook maar geloofwaardig lid kunnen worden van een bondgenootschap.
Openheid
De afgelopen maanden hebben we een compleet gebrek gezien aan openheid vanuit de regering, ondanks het feit dat er een 'Ministerie van Informatie' is opgezet. Ik zal de openheid die de vorige regering ElGorro III heeft aangehouden voorzetten, daarnaast zal er een mogelijkheid zijn voor wekelijkse vragen aan de President/Regering, welke dan zullen worden gepubliceerd in een wekelijks artikel.
Wervingscampagne
Ik ben verantwoordelijk geweest voor de ministeries van Recruitment & Coaching vele malen, maar struikelde altijd over de moeilijkheid van nieuwe spelers aanbrengen in eNederland. In de hoedanigheid als president zijn mijn middelen véél uitgebreider, intern en extern. In het spel zelf kan ik de mogelijkheid adverteren om je vrienden het spel te laten spelen. Buiten het spel kan ik optreden als de officiële 'afgevaardigde' van eNederland en contact opzoeken met allerlei media.

In the function of Country President, my options are more expanded, both externally and internally. In the game, I can advertize the possibilities of bringing your friends to the game. Outside the game, I can act as the official ‘representative’ of the eNetherlands and contact all kinds of media.
Entertainment
De meeste onderdelen van eRepublik lijken saai en ingewikkeld voor die spelers die niet zo politiek aangelegd zijn, net zoals de vorige plannen die ik heb aangekondigd. Daarom wil ik ook 'fun' naar eNederland brengen, gedurende mijn termijn. Hieronder zullen in-game quests vallen die een leuke prijs verdienen (bv. 'Tjernobyl': do X damage to Ukraine, 'The Blitz': Use a Rocket against the United Kingdom), maar ook community quests (quizzen, waarbij de eNL wiki nodig zal zijn, 'Happy Hours' waarbij je online moet zijn op X tijd in X IRC kanaal).
Om samen te vatten, ik wil vooruitstreven naar een realistisch stabiel eNederland op de wereldkaart, met nationale én internationale activiteit. Ik wil een staat achterlaten voor mijn opvolgers waarbij politieke gevechten niet de enige gevechten zijn binnen eNederland! Daarom ben ik van mening dat ik de stem van eNederland verdien.

I hereby announce my candidacy for Country President, during the 5th of August elections.
Why would you vote for me?
I've always been known as a controversial figure in the eNetherlands, playing the political game with all possible ammunition I have with me. People will be critical towards me for numerous reasons. I've started and led several parties, which became the biggest parties (Libertas, VVN) in just a mere weeks thanks to heavy recruitment campaigns, to the disgust of some of the established ones. Some will find my arrogant, but I'm straight to the point when it comes to unnecessary events and things being proposed (Like the recent Resistance Wars). Others will question my integrity, looking back all the way in the past when the circumstances made it impossible for me to function properly.
However, I believe to be more than able to be tasked with this position. I've been in nearly every office in the Dutch nation over the past three years, besides the fact I've always been close to the community. Efforts taken in the past still show results at the moment of writing. For example, the foundations of the Coaching, Security Council for Immigrants and Embassies can be (partly) contributed to me. Of course, past results won't win me an elections, therefor I will list several plans in the event that I would win the elections:
Plans/Goals
Negotiations with Poland
The previous government tried to negotiate a treaty with the Polish occupiers, so that we could at least live of our own lands. These negotiations were broken off, when the Polish brought up monetary issues (which the eNL Congress firmly disagrees on). I’ll open up new talks with the Polish and will see what the options are: I’ll not necessarily disagree on paying a small amount of money (which could be paid privately - too), if that would mean the viability of an eNetherlands on the world map.
Alliances
Currently, there seems to be a lot of distress regarding the possibilities of joining an alliance. The previous government has started talks with Asgard, while others are pointing at the possibility of joining EDEN again. I’m of opinion we need to continue talks which have been started by my predecessor ElGorro and review what the options are for joining Asgard in comparison to other possibilities. Also, In my view, there need to be dealt with with the Polish first, before we can even join an alliance with (more) some weight.
Transparency
Over the past months, we’ve seen a complete lack of government transparency, even though we have a so called ‘Ministry of Information’ established. I’ll continue the renewed transparency which ElGorro III brought, including the weekly option to ask the President/Government questions, which then will be published in a weekly update.
Recruitment Campaign
I’ve been responsible for the sectors of Recruitment & Coaching many times, but always stumbled upon the difficulties of actually recruiting new players in the game. In the function of Country President, my options are more expanded, both externally and internally. In the game, I can advertize the possibilities of bringing your friends to the game. Outside the game, I can act as the official ‘representative’ of the eNetherlands and contact all kinds of media.
Entertainment
Most aspects of the eNetherlands come off as boring, even the previous goals I described can be seen as that for the non-political citizens. That’s why I want to bring fun to the eNetherlands too, in my term. These include both in-game objectives which will give rewards (eg: ‘Tjernobyl’: do X damage to Ukraine, ‘The Blitz’: Use a rocket against the United Kingdom) and community objectives (quizzes, in which the eNL wiki will be needed. ‘Happy Hours’ in which you must be online at X time on X IRC Channel to be eligible for some rewards).
To conclude, I want to strive forwards to have an actual (on the map) stable eNetherlands on the map, with both national and international activity. I want to leave behind a state for my successors in which political infighting is not only activity to be doing! Therefor, I’m of opinion I deserve your vote.

Dus jij wilt, tegen de wil van de eNL burgers in zoals die recentelijk werd vastgelegd in een ingame poll, via een sluiproute toch Polen betalen?
Mijn antwoord staat precies gegeven in het artikel, maar nuance moet blijkbaar weggelaten worden voor makkelijke aanvallen!

Dit staat er dus. Polen via een sluiproute toch betalen. Terwijl de eNL burgers duidelijk hebben aangegeven dit niet te willen.
Geen overeenkomsten sluiten die een (paar) maand(en) later weer de vuilnisbak in kunnen omdat er geen (particulier) geld voor is.
We willen duidelijk zijn naar Polen, niet iedere maand nieuw beleid...
Dus daaruit volgt inderdaad dat een eenmalige betaling zou moeten kunnen, maar dan moeten de Polen dus ook doorhebben dat het een eenmalige betaling betreft.
En het moet natuurlijk ook geen teken van zwakte zijn. Als we een (paar) regio's terugkrijgen voor slechts een maand is het eigenlijk al bijna niet de moeite waard, tenzij de prijs heel erg laag ligt (zeg onder de congress tax voor de regio's).

And to talk of transparency...hmm. And to even go as far as say you want to continue with ElGorro's transparency is a bit funny considering he refuses to release details from the talks with the Polish other than "they fell apart."
However I do like your ideas for bringing more fun to the game such as the Blitz and Happy Hours. I was hoping a candidate would mention CoT as well but for some reason they always seem to never be an option for the Dutch government. And I'm sure if anyone can boost the population it would definitely be you 🙂
