[eSA] End of Term

Day 1,444, 19:28 Published in South Africa South Africa by Oprah Winfrey

eSouth Africa,

What a month. I think this is some of the most fun I've ever had in this game, and yet, there is still so much more to do. That's the beauty of eRepublik, there's always another horizon--a new month, a new opportunity. There's always something to create. We are all constantly building upon a collective history. Embrace your moment in that history.

I happily agree with Rico when he says that "the community feels more vibrant both in-game and on the national forums" this month. We got a lot done, and we had fun.

-We continued and strengthened our alliances in the Southern Cross

-We created a program for loans and ZAR which strengthened our infrastructure and increased the value of our currency by eliminating some of it.

-We funded Assegai and helped them grow as a world-class fighting force that carries South Africa's name far and wide.

-We watched and fought our Indonesian oppressors when, for the first time in history, their archipelago was majorly invaded.

-We had an active media. We posted government publications regularly, and saw lots of informative and fun articles come out.

-We helped bring our community back to the game, back to activity--and consequently saw strings of births, less infant mortality, and formerly faceless players begin to interact.

-We kept potential PTOers out of Congress and did some other security stuff.

-We used internships as a means of providing new opportunities to players and giving them experience.

-We captured the sheepshagger (edit: he later escaped...)

-We had fun

So, I think it's fair to say it was a pretty good month. I'm very satisfied, and very pleased to step aside to give another one of my friends a chance in the President's chair...

On that note, the election is really heating up. Sheeplove Rebellions; Suave birther allegations. I honestly have no clue who will end up on top tomorrow--and surely that's the sign of a good election.

I'd like to thank everyone that helped out this month. I could not have managed without my advisors and cabinet.

What's next? I have no idea, but I'm excited. This isn't the end. And to all of you, some advice: don't be a jerk, contribute to the community and government, have fun, and always remember this is a game. Remember those things, and you'll go far in eRepublik.

Hail South Africa!

-O.
