[Dept of Information] Government Update Day 1352

Day 1,352, 12:33 Published in Australia Australia by eAus Department of Information

A brief update from your cabinet.

DEFENCE
Following the successful return of Queensland via resistance war and defence of Northern Territory thanks to the massive support from our friends and allies we gained the initiative in our war with eNew Zealand. An attack was launched against eNew Zealand's home region of Canterbury, a strategic target designed to cut off eNew Zealand's supply routes for their resource regions. We were successful in our attack, and have now turned our attention to Auckland. A few resistance wars have been attempted by private citizens in eIndonesian held regions, these are *not* supported or approved by your government and we urge citizens not to participate. As always follow official Dept of Defence orders to ensure you're fighting smart.

FINANCE
The return of our regions from occupation improves our productivity via return of resource bonuses. Unfortunately some of our gains are negated by the fact that Victoria remains in eIndonesian hands. The tax reforms agreed by congress are taking effect with the lower taxes reducing tax avoidance and increasing tax revenue.

FOREIGN AFFAIRS
Our mutual protection pact with eChina was approved by congress. Garven Dreis and k0llht0s continue in their diplomatic efforts to secure support from our allies against eNew Zealand.

EDUCATION
Our new citizen message has been 'broken' for quite some time now, Flatty and Michael Windsor have prepared a new version which is currently under senate review. For those who haven't done so already, please read about an innovative program set up by the department called "Getting to know your representatives".

NATIONAL SECURITY AND IMMIGRATION
Citizenship requests continue to be processed with little delay. Members of congress are reminded to only accept requests formally approved by the Dept of Immigration, this is a long-standing practice to keep eAustralia safe.

CONGRESS / SENATE
Congress have approved the mutual protection pact with eChina and the transfer of additional foreign currency reserves from treasury to the reserve bank. A proposed new citizen message is under discussion. Senate have also discussed the forum ban in place for e😜resident Bowen Eley, and the relevance of hospitals, defence systems and trade embargoes to current game mechanics.

That's all for now. Your Ministry of Information will keep you updated with current events as they happen, please be sure to shout and vote this article so other citizens will get the message. Feel free to PM one of us for further information.
