[Dept of Information] Government Update - Day 1,350

Day 1,350, 20:12 Published in Australia Australia by eAus Department of Information

A brief update from your cabinet.

DEFENCE
Two major victories, with the return of Queensland via resistance war and the successful defence of Northern Territory. Now none of our territories are held by eNew Zealand, and we have the initiative to launch the next attack in the ongoing war. The win in Northern Territory was epic, with the ledger tied at 7 mini-battles each before a massive effort saw us victorious in the final battle. This war is far from over, and all eAussies are urged to continue contributing to the war effort.

As always follow official Dept of Defence orders to ensure you're fighting smart.

As of Day 1,350 20:00 eRepublik Time, make sure you are fighting for AUSTRALIA against New Serbia (NZ) in Canterbury

FINANCE
The challenges of managing a wartime budget are not getting any easier. The ADF have been provided with additional funding to support a wartime supply regime, and additional foreign currency reserves are being moved to the reserve bank for safekeeping.

FOREIGN AFFAIRS
A renewal of our formal alliance with eChina is currently under vote and certain to be approved. Further discussions are underway to secure support in our war against eNZ. Results are starting to swing our way, but a lot can change in a few days.

EDUCATION
The Ministry of Education continues to deliver, with an innovative campaign to have all eAustralians befriend their elected representatives and cabinet officials to be sure they are kept up to date with shouts. "Getting to know your representatives" is a great idea, and a credit to Flatty and Michael Windsor for getting it moving. I've seen quite a few friend requests come through already.

NATIONAL SECURITY AND IMMIGRATION
Citizenship requests continue to be processed quickly, we're pleased to welcome a few heavy-hitters to eAustralia.

CONGRESS / SENATE
Congress appear certain to approve our mutual protection pact with eChina, and the transfer of foreign currency from treasury to the reserve bank for safekeeping. The executive government is working to keep congress appraised of the situation with eNew Zealand and related foreign affairs activities.

That's all for now. Your Ministry of Information will keep you updated with current events as they happen, please be sure to shout and vote this article so other citizens will get the message. Feel free to PM one of us for further information.
