[CP] State of the Union (Day 1443)

MY MANDATE

On October 5th, a majority of eCanadian voters provided me with a mandate to establish eCanada as a destination for experienced soldiers from around the world. I intend to make eCanada a very attractive option to foreign soldiers by:

-pursuing a full complement of economic region bonuses.
-brokering a multi-month commitment from congress on MU funding that requires eCanadian citizenship
-leading reforms in our justice system so that eCanadians can count on a just resolution to conflict

PDP, Muggsy, Ethel, Bunsen HoneyDew and Mafanikio will help me do this!!!

This will likely be my next to last CP article of the term, good luck to all CP candidates on November 5th. A friendly reminder to all PP's out there that today is deadline day for nominating your candidate for CP.



On the War of Convenience with UK...

This war has been raging for 50 days and counting. Hopefully you got a chance to read this article celebrating the 50 day anniversary. This war can be a boring struggle, I empathize with you on that, however a peaceful resolution does not appear to be possible given the talks conducted to date. Perhaps the new CP will have a different point of view, but it looks like the present CP is running again so there may not be a change at all. The key is to keep putting pressure on UK so that peace is a more desirable alternative.



On closing UK’s Natural Enemy with Ireland…

We danced around a lot, but we closed it. With this war closed, options open up in the War of Opportunity with Ireland. If the upside of this deal doesn't materialize soon, we may have to reevaluate.



On opening a front in Asia…

It is amazing how difficult it is to position a country to attack. It takes so much time and co-ordination and it is easy to lose ground by taking risks to speed up the process. I am still trying to get a front opened up ASAP without losing all of the MPPS we share with US or any of our other allies.



On expanding the economic empire…

Personally, I have noticed the fruit bonus, it helps. I’d like to add oil, either from UK or Alaska, its next on the to-do list.



On reductions to income tax and VAT…

As MoF, I have recommended reduces to both income tax and VAT. Congress has agreed and is moving these motions in game. Your net pay will be higher and goods will be cheaper. Taxes are being monitored continuously and congress has been updated twice a month for the last two months.



On nominations to the Order of Canada…

I have several nominations to make.

First, I’d like to nominate Ethel Rosenberg, PimpDollaz, Andrew Mckenzie Caine, IronToader, Wally Cleaver and Araknos to “Member of the Order of Canada” for their roles as party leaders of the top parties in eCanada during the ATO effort. As Party President or Party Stewards, they quarterbacked the ATO effort for their parties. Amongst other things, Ethel and Pimp moved their members to other parties to increase membership totals and manipulate the parties in the top five and determine who would be able to run candidates. Amongst other things, Wally and Araknos supported the exodus of members from their parties in the name of the national ATO effort. Amongst other things, Andrew and IT dealt with the influxes of members and, along with the PPs already mentioned, made sure that their congress ballots were completely full and that all PTO threats were blocked, even in the NPC. This ATO went off superbly and these political party leaders deserve recognition for this.

Second, I’d like to nominate Mafanikio to “Member of the Order of Canada” for his contribution to the Ministry of Information this term. Mafanikio developed a script that installs into the eRep home page. This script clearly defines the top battle priority for eCanada as well as two secondary battle priorities. This script has been invaluable in constantly identifying the top Canadian battle, the top EDEN battle, and the top TERRA battle. It is seldom that a technological advancement like this is introduced into our environment, particularly a nation specific one, and I believe that this deserves recognition.

Finally, I’d like to nominate Chamrajnagar for his role in the ATO. Note that Cham is already a “Member of the Order”. Cham’s article was the tipping point in getting the nation to buy in to the ATO plan. His article was thorough, bi-partisan and respected the plans laid out to date. He took the initiative to prepare a form and solicit interest from volunteers and interested parties, and this just served to build more momentum. Given the smashing success of the ATO, I nominate Cham to the highest rank, “Companion to the Order of Canada”.



On November 5th…

I will do my best to make the transition of power a smooth one. This was something that I did not get as CP Aeriala gave me the cold shoulder, trolled me, and changed citizenship to the US; a real class act. Regardless, I commit now to a much more “friendly” hand off. Of course, if I’m re-elected it should be a lot easier but that is not guaranteed. I promise there will be no “sour grapes” on my part in the event Rolo or SAWC or John Cleese or Funky Hum24n get elected.
