I guess when your willing to sell out your nation for MPP's a hospital and pretty much going your region away for free to one of the most imperialistic countries in the game and trust me they are is not considered selling out your country or whoring for some expierience points. By the way did you even talk to the president of Austria before releasing this article? I am seeing a huge 100% difference of opinion.

Absolutely not, if you knew how long it took us to finally get this region back from Hungary you would understand that this is not a good idea. If it were being giving away merely for a training war then that would be one thing, but I promise you that it will be EXTREMELY difficult to get this region back when we want them out.

@ Prince: Before starting a poll, you should first elaborate a complete plan: who should hold the region, who should attack, which MPPs should be signed ...

I am honestly appalled that some of the people including the Minister of Defense AND the Chief of Staff support this. Then I remember that they are noobs who do not know the blood and sweat that went into getting Burgenland back. Which was before my time in Austria, but honestly the whole plan here is half assed. As Borojevic has pointed out, and Prince I suggest you not sign your government position on the end OF ANY articles that are not the official stance of the government that is for future reference. Then you say it is not an important region? I see... so original regions of any country are just unimportant? I will remember this when it is you who is running for public office in the future.

It's a matter of it being an original territory, it's not yours to give away. You give that to Hungary your not getting it back for a long time, and we saw that. It took Croatia and 11 activated MPP's to get it, because they were not giving it back through resistance wars. So Prince of Austria I say again, you don't know of the hardship that was went through to get that back if you are willing to sell out for a training war. I can´t understand you people! On one hand you´re crying for a TW, but on the other hand your turning down the best viable option we have...and for WHAT? A medium wood region? No, this is no reason to turn down the chance of having a TW, which most of us have been waiting for ever since the situation became somewhat stable again, and which in my opinion is urgently needed.

Furthermore Austria is never going to become a great nation, if its people only seek to maintain their original regions, and stay in our original boundaries. All that big talk about initiating a bayboom-offensive, strengthening our country by activating MPPs and gaining the support of as many of our neighbours as we can, all that, what many people have been working for is gonna be wasted, just big talk and ain´t shit behind it. And all that for WHAT? FOR BURGENLAND? You say we shouldn´t spit on what many people have fought for, but this is exactly what you do, if you decide to do nothing. You WASTE the work of others. At least don´t complain when you´re doing nothing to help eAustria getting a TW.

Also don´t troll PrincOfAustria, who had the idea. At least he is trying to think of a way of moving this country forward, towards a better future. I´d also suggest you read the article carefully. Prince explicitly stated, that this is only a suggestion, so if you want to say "No", do it without the trolling.

I love this country, but sometimes I am deeply shocked at how its citizens lack the willingness towards the performance of change and reform.

This game says "the NEW world", implying RL doesnt neccessarily have to apply.
Also, Burgenland has been part of Hungary much longer than it has been part of austria (IRL), so it actually is no "original region".

Samu-L, what you are proposing to do has nothing to do with just a resource it has to do with giving away a land that Hungary thinks is there's in RL, they put up meaningless +1,000,000 damage to wall of Burgenland, first off we don't even have all our regions. While I see what you are saying its hold absolutely no merit none whatsoever. We only have three regions and with you thinking Phoenix is always wanting to help eAustria out of the kindness of there heart I just can't even help but laugh at that a little. I would be a lot more open to this if we had our land back, a definitive plan to do this not just throwing out ideas that aren't even fully thought out. Its a false choice to on the one hand have Burgenland, and on the other, be in training wars or get cheap MPP's. We can be in training wars and have MPP's without selling out to another nation and willingly handing over regions, ceding our claims to them. Nations who do this with their own regions are always seen as subservient and puppets to the nation they have given regions to - such as India and the United States.

This shouldn't be something we are trying to aim for as a nation. Its not that Burgenland is particularly useful - medium wood isn't that great - its the implications that doing such a thing would have on our credibility and standing. Not to mention, there are additional reasons that it is problematic too - like new citizens starting in Burgenland, having Austrian citizenship, but being in another country. That in itself creates a huge hassle and would slow our national growth (the same goes for all other regions currently occupied by other nations.)

Dropping our claim to an original Austrian region will harm us in more ways then one - and at a cost far greater than any reduction in costs for MPP's or TW's would have.
