My friends,

When I was first began my career as a diplomat in this game, I was randomly assigned to be the American Ambassador to China and held that position for several months. Throughout my time and afterwards, the major goal of both Chinese and American foreign policy was to liberate Heilongjiang from the occupation of Hungary. We made a bold attempt once several months ago and almost succeeded, but were repelled. Now, finally, thanks to coordination between EDEN, Sol, and the United States, Heilongjiang is once again Chinese.

Congratulations, eChina. Congratulations on this hard-fought battle. Good work to EDEN and allied forces for making the great stride to finally free this region and allow China to gain access to the high iron that has been held hostage from them for so long. I look forward to finally being able to see China prosper with its newfound resources. Congratulations again.

The Fall of the Hungarian Empire

The nation of Hungary has long been considered to be one of the greatest--if not the greatest--powers in the game, its military able to flex its muscle globally and its existence as a nation rarely threatened recently. Hungary, with its powerful partner Indonesia, essentially ruled the PEACE Global Community and its successor, Phoenix, and dictated its will be done across the globe. It's empire encompassed several continents at one point, holding valuable regions in Europe, Asia, and North America. They were last of the PEACE powers to be removed after the invasion of North America was finally repelled, having hunkered down in Alaska and Manitoba before finally being defeated. When the United States led its invasion of Asia in retaliation for the invasion of North America, the PEACE heavyweight Indonesia and puppet Iran both felt the brunt of the attacks, losing their empires-- but Hungary remained relatively unscathed, the American-led attempt to seize Heilongjiang (one of President Jewitt's "Three Pillars&quot😉 failing and resulting in the United States beginning to scale back its liberation efforts in Asia and the end of what is referred to as World War III.

Heilongjiang, popularly known as Hello Kitty, is a Chinese high-iron region that has long been held as a valuable resource by foreign powers. The Land of Dio was the first nation to occupy it back in 2008 during the China-Pakistan War, and Iran wrested control of it from Pakistan during the Iran-Pakistan War. This was back in 2008; Heilongjiang has changed hands since then, but never has it been returned to Chinese hands. Hungary settled down into the region, and it became the Crown Jewel of the Hungarian Empire. Now, though, allied forces have successfully liberated the region. To emphasize for people yet again, this is one of the most significant military events to happen within the game. This was a region that was suppose to be unconquerable; a region that, in ten months of occupation, had only ever been slightly threatened once. This was the region that was key to much of Hungary's power. And now, at long last, it belongs once more to China.

With its imperial crown jewel wrested from its control, Hungary is now in a great deal of danger. Previously it did not need to worry about the invasion of the Hungarian homeland, for no invasion of a homeland can be successful if that nation maintains colonies that can keep their MPPs open and government intact. This has changed. Furthermore, the bulk of Hungary's economy and population was centered in Heilongjiang, and the nation will need to start using its non-depleted funds to relocate its citizens. With Croatia and Romania already bordering Hungary and Poland moving in, they are in a great deal of trouble. This is one of the most monumental defeats for the Phoenix alliance to date and may signal a (probably brief) decline of Hungarian power in world affairs. This battle has reshaped the balance of power in the New World.


Allied Efforts

On top of the victory in Heilongjiang, the Indonesians were removed from the resource-rich region of Western Australia, lending another blow to Phoenix's power. Despite the Polish Empire suffering setbacks and Phoenix advances in Europe, the tables seem to be turning towards EDEN's favor once more as the alliance works hand-in-hand again with the United States and other allies such as Sol throughout the world. While EDEN and the allied forces appeared to be facing military catastrophe that could have resulted in the loss of Karnataka, destruction of Spain, and even possibly another invasion of the United States, now the allied forces are resurgent and marching towards further victory. It is likely that South Africa will be liberated again soon as well.

POTUS Elections Gearing Up
Elections for President of the United States are beginning to gear up. This election the two major contenders are both former presidents who led the nation on opposite spectrums of World War III. In one corner is former president Harrison Richardson, who served as president during the invasion of North America and has long served in government both before and after that event. He has pledged to raise new names to government positions for fresh ideas and faces, and he is also seen as adopting a foreign policy where the United States remains autonomous from superalliances but focused on specific, major goals and strengthening alliances with individual nations.

In the other likely corner is former president Gaius Julius, who has yet to make an official media announcement. Gaius Julius became president after Emerick and continued the liberation efforts for North America. He has been one of the most active leaders within the EDEN alliance and is slightly critical of the Woxan Administration's "pro-neutrality" stance.

This election will be an important one in particular when it comes to foreign policy and the direction of the nation. Stay tuned for more news!
