I suppose yas want policies…

All right, since it’s proper form to tell you what I think we should try to accomplish, here’s what I think we should try to accomplish.
😛
Foreign stuff- While we are still theoretically a pro-Asteria country, we have a number of MPP’s with Pacifica countries, some issues with Orion countries (e.g. Peru), and membership in NEBULA.
There is nothing intrinsically wrong with any of that, but it could lead people to wonder just how loyal we are to our traditional allies. I’d like a good long chat with the soon-to-be-former administration about their long term plans for eAustralian alliances, before discussing MPP renewals with Congress.
Warsies- I’m for them, we’ll come up with something.
😉
Domestic stuff- Yeah it is certain that democracy will be up for discussion. My position is that while we have done our best to maintain a “democratic dictatorship,” that is an oxymoron that cannot be sustained indefinitely. More to come on this topic…
Money stuff- A brief glance at the market a few hours ago showed me that 2 of 3 WRM sellers were eAussies selling at the going international rate... But the cheapest Q7’s were 5-15% (or more) higher than top 10 countries' prices.
I think it would be good to get the weaps prices down, so we could at least get taxes from the sale of them- I myself haven’t bought tanks in eAus for yonks. So I’m considering a proposal to reduce the import taxes for weapons.
Also renting a region or 2 seems to be good fiscal policy for eAus, so I’ll see if we might line something up there.
Cabinet stuff- Still up in the air, for the most part, although FreeGigi says he’ll take on PM, so long as I don’t make him do any work. We’ll see about that.
People who are interested in cabinet positions, please PM me for a better deal than you’ll get if I come tapping you on the shoulder.
😃
Talk to me, peoples, tell me what’s on your mind so we can try to work on improving things.
Don't forget to vote on the 5th!
Cheers,
JackTrout

lol! That's mean- but funny! 😃
yep, chemistry is so funny!
good luck!
Thanks mate!
Best of luck JT.
Thanks, Lany!
Good luck my friend.
Certainly sure that Aus stays in good hands with you as CP

Cheers my friend, and same with you in Portugal! o7
"some issues with Orion countries" countries is a plural, there is only one Orion country that has issues with us, not the other way around.
"soon-to-be-former administration about their long term plans for eAustralian alliance" the administration will be out, so their long term plans wont matter, if you win, your the one to set the course for the country.
"good to get the weaps prices down" there are sales at the lowest rates, but they tend to be snapped up by people trying to turn it around and make money from on selling them. I tend to put 1k of Q7s on the market every second day and they get sold with in 10mins.
"Also renting a region or 2 seems to be good fiscal policy for eAus, so I’ll see if we might line something up there." who are you looking at renting too? will there be guarantees in place if the country has a bad credit history?
all in all it seems very vague. I know your first article "Why JT will suck as CP" was tongue in cheek, but if someone is going to run, they should at least have an idea on policies, incase they are voted in.
Vague- As opposed to your highly specific policies, often consisting of "I can't talk about that just now" that we see each time you run?
I had set a fair few things in motion last time I was CP, and most of those efforts went for nothing when you took over. I appreciate your efforts for Aus, and where I agree with the plans you are working on, why would I not try to move them forward?
Are you saying we should re-invent the wheel every time there's a change of gov? That's ridiculous, Rusty. You asked me for a detailed hand-over last time I was not able to run for a second term, and I would expect the same courtesy from you.
We don't have to agree on everything to show a bit of professionalism, hmm?
This is a serious question, hence why I am asking it. As voting citizen, I do not want to cast a vote on vague policies, I would prefer to hear something of substance.
Simply thinking this is an 'attack' on you is wrong. It is a genuine question in about the direction you want to steer the country towards. In the past you have released a Q&A for CP candidates, this is simply that, but in a comment section, you listed points, I am asking questions on them for more information, so myself as a voter and others, will know what we are voting for.
For instance you say renting two regions, you must have an idea who do you want to rent regions to, be it South Africa, Peru, Chile or one with out a border to Australia.
Orion country issues you state, which countries do we have issues with? if their is more then I know of, I would like to know so I can start trying to patch things up. I dont want to be on the outer with countries on the same alliance sphere.
Long term plans, you have not asked me anything about 'long term' plans, you are not in congress so I am unsure what you know about the current happenings or the future plans. I know some congress members ask a lot about back ground information on things in our region.
All I am asking for is clarification on your policy paper, not a go at you. Something that the voting public want, a clear idea of where or what you want to achieve during your term as CP.
The Q7 prices is another serious question, on how you will bring it down. You talk about the going rate of WRMs, but as someone who has 5 Q7 factories, I know Australia is not an ideal place to buy WRMs. Yes we do have a few people selling WRMs at market value (normally .07cc), but at such a low volume, it does not really build too many tanks.
If you reduce the import tax, wouldnt that hurt the local producers and actually empower the overseas producers? making as reliant on imports, rather then be self sufficient?
Rusty, your only questions above were "who are you looking at renting too? will there be guarantees in place if the country has a bad credit history?" (sic)
In this regard, Kattrrina's statement of intent to rent to "a friendly nation" seems completely specific and acceptable to you, as a voter...
I on the other hand am looking for someone who hates us and will not pay, with no guarantor, and who will probably start wars from our regions.
Please stop treating the eAustralian public as if they are idiots. I do not have a country in mind to rent regions to, nor would I be asking anyone before I have the authority to do so.
"Orion country issues you state, which countries do we have issues with? if their is more then I know of, I would like to know so I can start trying to patch things up. I dont want to be on the outer with countries on the same alliance sphere." (sic)
I think most eAussies recognise that things have not been great with ePeru for some time now. There is no need to be disingenuous about it. And if there are other issues with other Orion nations, isn't it you who should be informing me?
Do you have any real questions? Please ask. Because I can see, you are genuinely trying to get answers, so you can decide who to vote for.
Even with the taxes, Importers can easily undercut the market, at least by using a middle man. You'll notice today (unless they've sold already) I bought 10 Q7 weapons from Russia and put them on sale at 17.80. My margin after tax was only 10 cents, but I'm 70 cents below the next offer.
Flooding the market with 1k of cheap product is going to cause rush buying, especially if someone knows your schedule. We need constant supply with a gradual downward trend in price across all industries. Otherwise a lot of our citizens will simply buy overseas, in which case we lose both tax and GDP.
I would suggest to improve our weapons prices we need to either lower taxes on importing weapons raw materials or rent regions which produce them. That should lead to increased production and lower prices. We have 3 surplus agricultural regions and it makes sense to rent 2 of the agricultural regions we double up on and use the money to rent weapons or housing raw material regions. I agree that we should be careful about who we rent to, but while the previous tenant paid on time, there were other issues:
I still have don't understand how we were allowed to drop to a 20% bonus on food production during a training war. As Vic and Tas were already rented, the war should have taken place in either WA or NSW only. Not both of them as well as SA and NT. Effectively they got days if not a week or more of free rent on those regions and increased production at the expense of our struggling farmers. It's already the least economical industry to be in.
Actually I think we dropped to no bonus at one point. The only unaffected region during the "Training War" was the Dictator's home state where they dig up their beaches to build houses.
@JT, renting too is a proper question, even if your not CP until election day, you should have some idea on who you want to rent to. Kattrrina said a friendly country, that has narrowed it down, you have avoided the answer completely. And your saying that I am treating the people as idiots, Peru started a war from our region, Peru did not pay rent, hence the question, Chile started a war from our regions, hence the question.
You stated countries, which is a plural and so that means it is more then one. Hence why I want to know which other ones. If you said country, which is a singular, everyone will know that is Peru, since they publicly and privately have been insulting us for months.
If you dont want to answer any questions, just say 'no comment' rather then avoid them. The reasons I have asked Kattrrina less questions is because her papers have seemed a tad more in depth then yours. That is why I am asking questions.
@gud, no matter the amount I put on, they will be snapped up quickly. I myself travel to other countries to purchase WRM, FRM and if I can get 300 at .01cc cheaper, I will buy it and then go to another country to get the rest. I dont think 1k of weapons is flooding the market, however if I was to put 10k of Q7s on the market, I would look at that at flooding the market (plus it depends on what is happening in the eWorld, comps etc tend to push the prices higher).
I agree in lowering the import tax on WRMs, but if the home country has high taxes, wages etc that effects a lot of things. Also if the producer knows he produces at the cost of .04 and he can sell at the market price of .07, they will most likely sell at the higher price to ensure greater profits for them. The best thing I have seen, was offered by Cuba (I think), they want to try and sponsor D4 players to move to 100% bonuses regions so they would inturn sell their products on the local markets (basically turning them into farmers for the country).
@Gudz, unsure what you mean by the 'dictators home state' comment, but during the TW, all taxes collected from Australian regions was paid back to Australia. I daily check all occupied regions (from rental deals to TW) and add it to the tax bill. So for the TW with Chile, while they had occupied our regions during the TW, the taxes of all regions was added to the bill.
TWs are planned, but they almost never go the way we want, due to MPPs, 3rd party involvement and also the strength of the two nations. The best we can hope for is a quick hand back of regions, which is something South Africa (one of our regular TW partners), NZ and Chile have done.
well it's important to make the best decission regarding MPP, no matter alliances. Some MPP are strategic decissions, to improve relationships, to make agreements to rent regions, and so on.
I wish you the best Jack, and i am sure that you'll think hard about the best for your country, friends and allies.
Thank you, Clora, you may be sure I will consider all decisions carefully.
and if you need me i'll be there for you. Hugs.
Yay. 🙂
If I could i vote him, he work hard and do things really great #JackTrout4CP
Thanks for that, mate!
Will the government get involved in the Tank Bank scheme? Or is this something that will never come to fruition after many promises in the past by people running.
Getting tank prices down is a great idea, I also do not buy eAustralian due to unreasonable pricing in the market
The person who was meant to be in charge (it was not a government created program, but one the government would assist) has had not the time to do it due to RL and there were not any real takers when they did talk about it.
Good question, Guag. For those who may not have heard of it, the Tank Bank was intended to loan gold to players who needed to upgrade their training grounds.
Yep it bears seeing if there is any interest at all in those kind of loans, then I'm sure we could figure out how to make it happen- though I believe it would still need to be a privately funded initiative.
Please remind about this if I get elected. 🙂
Cool, no failed promise in that response.
Agree keeping it privately funded, much like the JDS it would have ups and downs in the running but having it privately run gives ownership to the manager along with not being a burden on country funds.
I would still like to hear more on the weapon pricing (allowing a better overseas component for competitive pricing) when you have time as the current price gouging in our market in ridiculous by locals
As to trying to get weaps prices down a little, I'd like to try reducing the weaps import tax from 15 to 5%. Just that, nothing fancy, nothing original, just one term at the lower rate to see if it helps make Q7 tanks more affordable here.
Or if the sole result is more people yelling at me. Love to get me some data. 😃
I'll ignore the dig and me and explain a bit more about the Tank Bank...
After the launch we had a grand total of two people take the option up. In the 5 months or so since a massive two others have contacted me about it.
The program as originally advertised is administrative heavy and very time consuming to run. It need streamlining. Private funding may remove some of the (very tedious) risk mitigation measures at the expense of, well, more risk. If you know any generous donors then please get in touch!
I do apologise for not having stayed on top of the program. A week or two after launch I had a major shift in my RL workload and was not able to run it effectively or efficiently. Nobody else came forward. How unusual for eAus...
No dig at you ID, as you are well aware you contacted me at the start for some help to outline some of the basics for the program to which I gave you some advice along with screen dumps of wording for similar programs.
I also recall along the way how you had mentioned that RL was busy hence your limited appearance of late.
As for people not coming forward, most on here need a nudge or push (with a bus) to become involved
I don't think anyone's faulting you, ID, Tank Bank is a great idea and if we have younger players that can benefit from it, we should try to make it happen.
Possibly one option is to simply match sponsors with loan requests; then the sponsors can decide how much to loan, how often, repayment plans, etc.
The first step I think is still to see how much interest there is in getting these loans, right now. Then we have a better idea of what is needed.
If I knew such a thing existed I certainly would have taken it up. I'm still saving up for the first upgrade, having spent my first 10 gold on a food factory, although I'm only a few gold short now anyway. As for administrating the scheme or taking on the Treasury portfolio I'm happy to give it a shot if nobody more experienced comes forward.
@Gudz, if your interested in a loan, let me know, I was the one sponsoring the people who signed up.
I was actually planning on doing this during 2016, as I do not want to be involved in politics, instead I want to try and grow eAustralia (I tried to launch a few things in 2014, but then I became CP and the workload got too much to do both at once).
Sorry, perhaps I didn't answer these questions adequately. From Rusty 😨 "If you reduce the import tax, wouldnt that hurt the local producers and actually empower the overseas producers? making as reliant on imports, rather then be self sufficient?"
The point here is that we are not self-sufficient now, our producers (those who need to make a profit, at least) cannot afford to compete with other countries' weapon prices. We simply do not have the bonuses needed to be competitive.
So- while working on getting a weaps bonus or 2 is always a general goal of mine, it makes sense to me to encourage the import of reasonably priced weaps, so eAus can at least get taxes from their sales, and we do not have to waste travel tickets to go shopping.
Would it hurt the local producers? You are one, tell me. If you are able to sell at competitive rates now, then I don't see how it would hurt you.
As to empowering overseas producers, if we're already buying their products, then we are not empowering them any more than we already do- less so, in fact, since eAus gets the tax rather than the country of production.
I am no financial expert, and am happy to discuss all this and see if Congress wants to try it or not.
I pay the highest wages in Australia, and I can still make a profit on selling products on the Australian market, which is what I said above, but when I sell them at the world wide rate, they sell pretty quickly.
There is no need to flood the market with overseas goods made in MU communes with slave labour. Their is a genuine way of making profit for this country, but hey it comes from some one wanting to manipulate the political scene of Australia with his left wing agenda, so why bother listening to the weasel.
So is there a suggestion there?
Tell me how you make profit from Q7 wps with highest wages and no bonuses. I don't believe that.
The market does not get flooded by allowing overseas in, it give us the community better competitive pricing instead of the the cream local producers are taking.
Keep others out and we are going to loose money for the treasury with locals buying off-shore
J Seemore, I do manage to make profit when I sell my products. When I give them away or store there is no profit. But the profit is slim and it depends on the market prices.
By letting in cheaper labour (via communes) products, that would bring down our prices, yes, but it will also push out our producers which results in loss of work tax. As you could guess, if someone is paying 5cc a day for a worker, they have much more room to move in their prices.
I agree that we need to bring down prices to allow Australians to buy, but we need to do it in a balanced way. That protects the local producers and also keeps the citizens happy.
@Guag, the so called 'cream' you are talking about is by the ones who are trying to make a quick buck, some of them buy from the o/s market and resell here with a mark up. When I place my products on the shelves in eAust, they are at the same low market rate across the eWorld. Most get sold straight away as the re-sellers will speculate on Q7 prices like they on gold prices.
There are ways to ensure the government can control the Q7 benchmark price in Australia, but it will take a big commitment by the government and the citizens of eAustralia.
Perhaps in conjunction with making prices competitive through one or more of these mechanisms we could also run a good old "Made in eAustralia" propaganda campaign, talking up the benefits to the country to try and encourage both consumers and producers to support the country in this. It's only eracist if people start getting etattoos of it.
Well tbh I know a few people who still buy from the Australian market, even if it is a touch more costly.
Just as long as we dont have an eCronulla riot, we should encourage people to shop locally.
http://prntscr.com/9mhyv2
My question was about your Q7 weappons, not about any other products or commune works.
calculation for eAustralia if you are q7 wps producer:
Salary you pay is around 80 cc
+
The price of WRM for 10 tanks is 2000*0.06=120 cc
(no one will sell WRM below 0.06 cc)
Total expenses = 200 cc for 10 tanks = 20 cc per tank
Now put another 3% to this 20cc and your minimal price for q7 produced in Australia without any profit will be 20,60 cc
Tell me for how much you sell your tanks and how you score profit from that. And tell me if my calculations are wrong. If your explanations would include the price of WRM then please consider that if you place an offer on the open market 1 WRM = 0.06 it will be bought instantly.
Your calculations are wrong, i also produce WRM and also get WRM from overseas at below market rates. Hence why I can make a profit on Q7s when I sell them.
The reason I dont sell WRM on the open market is because I use what I produce and sell the tanks.
J you want figures, here they are (but forgive me if I dont give too much away as I dont want anyone stealing from my WRM provider).
I currently employ workers on an avg wage of: 88.64cc/day (they are on different pay scales).
So not taking into account WRM (as I get below market value and produce myself): 1 worker = 10 tanks @ 88.64 per worker = 8.86 per tank.
Last time I sold was at the world (not Australian) lowest market rate of 17cc per tank.
Therefore as long as the WRM I get are less then: 0.04cc for the 2,000 WRM I will be making a profit. So if I produce for example, 1000 WRM out of that, I could buy WRM at .07cc and still make a profit.
My business model has taken a lot of time and investment to set up, yes compared to investment I have not made my money back, but day to day running is turning a profit and that profit is being put back into the business model. The really big downside is soon you will see me fly up the experience ladder due to the self-working. But as something once discussed before, I have taken advantage of 2 clicker D4 players in countries where bonuses exist to expand my WRM selection (they farm it for me and sell me the product).
If whoever is elected into government is serious about really creating a self sustainable Australian Military supplier, it can be done. It comes with heavy investment, trust and is time consuming, but it is possible to ensure Australia has low Q7 tanks on the market, which in turn can provide for profits back into Australia.
This conversation could perfectly fit to section in our forum. Here even in a public place it is a bit uncomfortable for discussion. But we are too small for forums 🙁
Investing in players working in other countries with good bonuses is very good initiative. I know you liked the idea at the old time when I was vCP and I presented building farmers scheme sponsored with government funds. Being long time as MoF I couldn't find any CP ready to make such step even when results from National survey shown that most of the people are agree with that program (unfortunately the participants in this survey were only 24) . You were 7 times CP, you work this way with sponsored players outside eAustralia but you never make that program real involving government funds and strict responsibilities. Why?
Few words about the profit:
If you sell your tanks for 17 AUD you will get 16,5 AUD after taxes
16,5-8,8 = 7,7 AUD
For 1 Q7 tank you need 200 WRM and you have 7,7 cc left
7,7:200=0,039 cc for one wrm. Which mean that you value your WRM at price of 0,04 and you are happy with that.
Every day you produce 550 Q7 wps (5 factories * 10 workers and you as manager) and you use 110K WRM calculated at 0,04 cc
If you shut down your Q7 factories you will sell 110K wrm for 0,06 cc on the free market and every one will be happy to buy it for that price. So if you stop producing tanks you will get a profit of 2200 cc every day. You can use that money to buy tanks (around 130) or to repay/refund your model or to make donation, whatever you want.
You see daily shouts that players sell wrm for 0,063 or 0,062 cc and others who buy from them make profit from producing weapons. You can't make profit in Australia if you buy wrm for 0,06 cc. This means that you reduce your profit of the investments and working instead of increasing it or to keep it in that level of at least 2200 cc daily.
When I say "You can't score profit" I set numbers which are valid for all mortals and they are the real value of items. If your decision is to sacrifice good earnings for slim profit just because you can afford it then I can sell that your business model can't be sold.
Here in eAustralia we can't make Q7 wps with profit in the way we all know what profit means.
Go for it bro o/
Cheers Baz!
Good luck and I hope for some projects together in the future!
