For the Love of Wolf: MEK gbr_blue Speaks

Day 2,902, 01:39 Published in Australia Australia by JackTrout
This is the fourth in a series of interviews with members of the Mobile Elite Korp- known throughout the eWorld as MEK.

This week, we interview eAustralian MEK Captain gbr_blue.

1. How long have you been a MEKie?

I joined MEK at the beginning of 2013, after I saw a MEK banzai attack against FYROM, in a decisive Canadian RW. I became curious who were those guys, and after a short probation period I was accepted as a MEK. So, with 2 not very long breaks, due to some RL commitments in remote areas, I will very soon complete 3 years in this crazy house.

2. What MU’s were you in before?

My first MU was TheGroup, an international Romanian-based MU. After that, it was a very nice period in Crimson Order in Australia (hey, Guagature, remember that?) and, just before MEK, Brothers in Arms, with which I have very strong ties even today.

3. Are you mostly a fighter, or do you also enjoy other parts of the game?

Surely, I am a fighter. No companies, no e-business, just fights.

Are you also a fighter in RL?

I go to the gym 3 times per week and run 5000 m once per week. 🙂
And usually I don’t release what I bite.

4. What was the best MEK battle you like to remember, and why?

On April 11, 2015, on a MEK Day, we put FreeGigi as Dictator in the UK. One day later he disposed the power to the elected CP, because we just wanted to have fun and had no intention to oppress an e-country... we are not that kind of guys. It was so intense, and reading the UK gov ingame messages so funny, that I smile every time I remember.

5. Will you tell us a little about who you are in RL?

I am 45 years old, a civil engineer, owning a small consulting company. In my free time I am associate professor at a technical university. My RL motto is FREEDOM.

6. Would it surprise your RL friends that you are in an elite MU?

Sure... Probably they cannot imagine I’ve played a game since 2009.

7. What would you like to see MEK do to celebrate the next MEK Day?

We already prepare something… shhhh, it’s still a secret!

8. What do you think of MEK Commander Pisco Soares?

His capacity to keep calm when everything seems to explode is incredible. I cannot imagine other people doing his job with such dedication, in a madhouse like MEK.

9. Do you see yourself ever being commander of MEK?

No. Never. Probably I would e-kill myself after the first day.

10. What is the best thing about MEK? And what would you describe as MEK’s mission?

MEK’s best thing is MEK’s mission too: Fun. Trust. Confidence. Dignity. Fun.

11. Is there anything else that you think people should know about you?

I want all my e-MIA comrades to come back in MEK. As my favorite writer (M. Eliade) said, I believe in the myth of the eternal return.

12. Is there a photo or graphic you’d like to see in the article?

Thank you for your time and your answers, gbr! Next week: A much newer MEK speaks. Really!
