[UK] - Dictatorship/Democracy Referendum - March 2015
10 Downing Street
Referendum
As proposed in my last update from 10 Downing Street my Government's three option referendum. Each UK citizen is free to select one of the options below by posting a comment on the article. Your comment will count as your vote for all to bear witness, if you comment more than once your last comment will be judged as your vote.
Each UK citizen will have one vote and the referendum will close in 48 hours from the time of article publish.
The Options
Organise a Revolution - ('New World' mechanic to restore democracy)
"Revolutions are campaigns against the Dictator and his supporters, aiming to restore democracy in the country. They can be started by Commanders of Military Units. The Military Unit has to be located in the country where the Dictator is in charge."
Remain under the current Dictatorship - ('New World' mechanic the current Dictator remains in charge and is free to appoint there own successor if required.)
Dictators have practically all the power in the country. They can single handedly pass any law. There are only 2 laws the Dictators cannot touch: a law for changing the new citizen message and a law for impeaching the President.
Elected Country President is appointed Dictator (No 'New World' mechanic, the current dictator would have to ratify the results of the referendum by the transfer of power.)
The 'New World' mechanics would still result in the new Country President/Dictator having practically all the power in the country. The ability to single handedly pass any law with the exception of the two mentioned above. However the citizenry of the UK would put their faith the this elected individual to not mis-use this power and work with Congress to make joint decisions
Result
The result of this referendum will be for all to see and it will be up to us all as a nation to implement of the individual option with the largest percentage of support.
If you are a UK citizen please now select an option and post in the comments below;
"Organise a Revolution"
"Remain under the current Dictatorship"
"Elected Country President is appointed Dictator "
Thanks you for taking part in this referendum
Huey George
Country President/Prime Minister of the United Kingdom

option 1 for democracy
Elected Country President is appointed Dictator
Not wishing to derail the thread, but "Elected Country President is appointed Dictator" is technically the law now and this referendum is only taking place because Wayne did not pass over the control to Huey eons ago. The referendum should only be given two options - remove Wayne or keep Wayne.
Huey's good-for-nothing cabinet and wall-of-text-but-contains-a little articles are the real reasons he didn't become a dictator in the first place.
So, the dictator gets to decide if the CP controls the govt or not? Sounds like an easily exploited loophole.
you know nothing in the past, we have a history where a CP who was elected by people stole 1m cc.
good for nothing? me? how dare you sir! i have you know, that whomever won I would have been on the cabinet
As the UK Governance Act makes no allowances for the current situation (an elected CP handing the dictatorship over to another citizen who was not a CP candidate) it can not be counted as in force. Technically it could only be in force if an elected Country President is Dictator.
The UK Governance Act is in force and is "law" even if the current circumstances means a lot of it cannot be applied. And if the UK Gov. Act is applied then it states that Wayne as dictator is illegal under eUK laws (shock horror! Who knew??).
If people vote for "Elected Country President is appointed Dictator" then what? You'll change the UK Governance Act from the notion that "the CP should be the appointed dictator" to the new notion that "the CP should be the appointed dictator". That particular result winning gives no mandate for further action such as removal of Wayne should that be what people want. People have the choice of deciding to actively do nothing (keep Wayne), doing nothing as they have voted for something that has no further action, or doing something (ie, try to remove Wayne).
In all honesty, this vote should have happened 2-3 weeks ago. On the basis of the lack of speed of all this, it would be deeply ironic if upn removing Wayne and then fighting to become the new dictator as the current CP, Wayne then wins the CP election so that you then hand it straight back to him....
"Organise a Revolution"
This referendum is pointless ,as Mr Knee points out above.Think back on the number of times we have been betrayed by our elected CPs Big Ant etc.
I therefore Abstain.
"Organise a Revolution"
Let's hope I'm right of choosing so
Organise a Revolution
Elected Country President is appointed Dictator
Stay as we are
Organise a revolution
Organise a revolution
Organise a Revolution!
The other two options involve actually trusting people - fat chance
Exactly! You get someone in as dictator who wants to ignore Congress and the CP and the agreement is null and void.
If congress and the CP actually *did* anything to ignore...
Don't you have to trust the guy you vote for democratically to not rob the treasury?
ssshhh! don't spoil it.
Option 4: Create a legal framework to constitutionally support a dictator under the functions of democracy
Which a dictator can ignore because he has all power and only voluntarily works with the elected government.
But the Dictator would most likely not be allowed to demolish that idea.
The he's called a twat and billed £200,000
Allowed? How do you force him to do anything?
The current dictator has already refused to hand over power, so the precedent is obvious.
I don't remember anyone asking me to hand over power. At least not with a logical idea on why I should. As I said in my first article, give me a reason to hand over power and I will. Neither Congress nor the Government have shown me that we have come up with a workable method.
Hell, I had to threaten them will being totally ignored before they got thier act together.
No one has yet come up with something and nor have they asked me nicely. They would rather spend 200k.
But this idea is by far the most sensible
Organise a revolution.
Elected CP is appointed Dictator
Remain under the current dictatorship
You say you want a revolution!
Elected current Country President is appointed Dictator.
Remain under the current dictatorship
"Elected Country President is appointed Dictator
Organise a revolution
Also has been said above, the premise of this referndum is flawed.
the 'Elected CP' option already exists: https://docs.google.com/document/d/16mjY8rhS4A6d3AwAcFwohbKxIiI6ONOt4l0kpUaTc48/edit

This was passed earlier in the month and is technically in force, so as Mr Knee said- the only options is to get rid of wayne (by starting a revolution) or to keep wayne
As the UK Governance Act makes no allowances for the current situation (an elected CP handing the dictatorship over to another citizen who was not a CP candidate) it can not be counted as in force. Technically it could only be in force if an elected Country President is Dictator.
There is no way to force the dictator to hand over power, because, well, dictator. Therefore, the basic premise relies on a compliant dictator. If he refuses, then game over.
"4.1) If a CP oversteps his authority, refuses to hand over power or in any way abuses his position then congress, along with PPs and MU Commanders, will have the power to initiate a vote of impeachment. If successful, then a revolution will begin to forcibly remove the CP from his position of absolute power."
In terms of the part of the clause concerning the person in charge refusing to pass over the power, it would have been the CP if it hadn't been passed over to Wayne before the act was officially approved. The spirit of the clause is very much in effect and implying that the act doesn't apply on a minor technicality of a title is, erm, "dumb" is the wrong word but something like that.
Maybe we could waste another week putting forth an amendment in front of congress to get the wording amended so that it directly applies to Wayne.... *insert face palm animation here*
And if the Act isn't in force, isn't this vote technically illegal and treason??
