[Huey George] Update #10 from 10 Downing Street - October 2014
10 Downing Street
Introduction
I like to lead with a big thank you to all those who have taken the time to write kind words and messages about my term in office in this my final update from 10 Downing Street. Although I haven't won everyone over... "without a doubt. I, for one, remain underwhelmed by This month's tweedle dee" is another gem of a quote from the UK media to bring a smile to my face. Let's continue to underwhelm jamesw for my final update.
The War with Canada
You will have noticed it is on at full pace. Crucial wins in Northern Ireland and Wales have lead to the offensive being returned to Canadian soil and the UK once again in possession of all her original regions. The offensive in Canada goes well with win in Newfoundland and Labrador, Prince Edward Island, Nunavut and soon to be Manitoba. These victories in Canada have lead us to extra resources in the form of deer (Prince Edward Island) and soon hopefully granite (Manitoba) as well as extra tax revenue.
However war is not waged by one or two of us, it waged by all of us, so credit goes to each one of us who have contributed to battles either in a large way or small. I salute you all.
Law Proposals
- Mutual Protection Pacts
Estonia
We have renewed our MPP with Estonia as our two countries continue to work closely together.
Croatia
After discussions with my cabinet, diplomatic talks with my presidential counterpart and consultation with members of Congress we renewed our MPP with fellow Sirius Ally and friend Croatia.
Germany
On the suggestion of Congress and diplomatic talks with my presidential counterpart we signed a MPP with Germany, as the Germans consider us a close ally and were keen to help us with Canada.
MoHA
I'd like to drawn attention to the excellent articles coming from tht eUK Home Office News. BaronChris and his team have been doing a tremedous job as this term draws to a close.
MoFA
In the latest Sirius meeting. Our own Kapten Johnson was elected to be the new SG until the next elections on the 10th of November and thelasttrenzalore was elected MC. Congratulations to them both, especially Kapten who has worked tirelessly in the background as my MoFA this term.
MoF - End of Term Summary

Country Organisations - 32,990.16cc 313.16Gold

Expansion of Combat Order Spend
17th October to 5th November
MoD spend unless otherwise stated
18th October – 7.5k – Prince Edward Island
20th - 23rd October – 36k – Wales & North West of England
25th - 27th October – 57.5k – Northern Ireland & Scotland
29th - 31st October – 40k - West Midlands & East Midlands
31st - 1st October/November – 52.5k (+65k via Irregulars/CP Combat Orders) – Northern Ireland and Wales
2nd November – 16.5k – Newfoundland and Labrador
Overall in October we spent 275k (210k via MoD 65k via the Free British Irregulars/CP) spend with 55k (49k with the MoD 15k with the Free British Irregulars) still remaining for the next term.
How does October Combat Order spend compare with other months?
Well in September we spent 165k on Combat Orders and in August we spent 250k on Combat Orders.
CP Combat Orders
My own use of Combat Orders was a difficult decision however one I stand by. On the 31st of October we were 42 points to 2 points down in Northern Ireland, so I placed a series of COs across Div IV, III and II during Battle 5 and 6 costing us 65k when you add what the MoD had used earlier and used later in Northern Ireland plus what our allies and private citizens contributed, this was a costly battle. However this battle saw the turn of the tide in the war between ourselves and Canada and finish off the major Canadian COs. Since then we've not stopped winning.
Close
I'd like to close by saying it has been an absolute pleasure and honour to serve as your Country President.
Thanks for reading

Did I just read that correctly... a bit of humour from Huey?
We all get a hard time. It's part of the job, no matter how good a CP you end up being. I could never please Dougal4Chaos and no doubt others and WookieO will never please me, so don't be too hard on yourself!
Excellent job you"ve done Huey and I"ve hope I"ll be at least good as you,but can"t beat you.You are legend of eUK.o7
As far as we were concerned, the war was over. We moved your capital, at your request, and even halted using CO's to return the initiative to you to return all your regions. However, there was a mis-communication that resulted in an NE being re-instated.
I was actually hoping we would see some positive relations come out of this (you folks did attack us first) in closing the war fairly, and aside from congress mis-communications it was clear between both our executives that it was a mistake and should be rectified. However, I was wrong, and once the UK gained the advantage we were pressed for all it was worth.
UK will now proceed to romp around Canada until we throw you out, relations will remain terrible, nothing will have changed except hundreds of thousands spent on CO's, and we have allies that are frustrated because we are fighting each other in the pointless dance we always do while major battles that actually matter to the long-term story of the game are being fought.
I agree, we have missed the big showdown between Poland and Serbia.
Our respective allies have been involved but UK and Canada have been messing around on the sidelines in our little world 🙁
How many times have Canada jumped in on eUK? Too many times to mention. The moment the tides turn, you always wanna get out and play the victim.
Relations between eUK and eCanadurp have always and will always remain the same. We are the best of frenemies. Our options of war are as limited as your own. France is permawiped, AssGuard have been slapped about recently, Ireland are in a friendly alliance and the USA are now allies.
You offered peace, we accepted peace, we made the first moves to end the war and your congress decided to revoke the offer and carry it on. You can't use the 'Congress didn't know how to peace out' excuse, you did it with us 2 months ago. As normal, Canada thought they could snatch a few regions while we fluffed about.
The fact remains you declared war on us while we were being air striked. We merely reciprocated. In the past, we have always fought back and forth, both sides being the aggressor, but the point of my post was that I actually had hope we might break the cycle. Now that we have air strikes, we don't need to be perpetually at war with our neighbours.
Yeah, our congress messed up, but the executive made our intentions clear to end the war. We actually made the first moves for peace, by moving your capital and essentially giving you the initiative. Your own CP admits as much in his own articles.
Every single time that a country has declared an AirStrike on us eCanada have jumped straight in there with their own NE. Only two months ago eCanada decided to join in on a a multiple front attack on our regions. We had France, Norway, Sweden, Finland along with a Israeli AirStrike to contend with as well as your NE. I should know, I was the CP of eUK at the time.
Do you know who actually suggested we use this war as a opportunity to move our capital? Me, on my first day in Congress. Had our CP been on the ball he wouldn't have agreed to a peace settlement before you guys had taken Northern Ireland, then we would have started the fight back. From what I understand, your CP came looking for peace, they agreed to a peace proposal, eUK took the lead to end the war by having their Congress vote to end the NE on the understanding that eCanada would do the same very shortly after we had proposed it. Ours passed, pretty much before you had even got round to proposing it. Rylde himself, has admitted that he made no effort and didn't communicate with eCan Congress to an adequate level.
We did everything, including giving you a 10% damage bonus on us for a coupe of days. We are more than prepared to spend money on this war, sod all else to spend it on before the game dies, are you?
If we got wiped as a result of NE'ing you in a vulnerable position, kudos to you, we would have deserved it. As for the communication with congress, I don't know how you do things there in eUK, but here in eCan foreign affairs, including setting and unsetting the NE, is unofficially the prerogative of the executive. For our congress to vote down our CP's proposal to unset the NE is fairly unprecedented, and heads were rolling.
Either way, you. personally, have made your intentions clear. You are currently spending money, and we aren't. You'll get low and we have a warchest ready. Once we clear up our regions, it's entirely possible we'll move back into UK with the help of initiative. Isn't this so fun?
Although, personally, i'd like to be spending my countries resources on helping allies. We had a fun time last month, eUK is the only loose end which really should have been tied up a while ago. I like the occasional tussle with the eUK, because we're pretty much on the same level, but am not a fan of the never ending conflict that stagnates our ability to do anything else.
Here in the eUK, we follow simple game mechanics. The CP proposes a proposal and Congress vote on it. We are not a 'CP Rubber Stamping Committee'. Congress are the peoples representative, here to hold the CP accountable for his in game actions. The CP can't do anything to Congress, whereas Congress can impeach and remove a CP. Congress is where the real power lies.
The will of your people (Congress) have decided to carry on the war. To my knowledge, Canada has not officially said that they wish to end the war. So the perpetual dance will continue, until you vote down your NE and make formal declarations of peace. I can assure you we have a sizable chest of our own and that's without dipping into Country funds.
Haha, well things do work differently. Maybe eCan is a bit more formal than eUK or other countries. We do have certain conventions, but ultimately, as you say, congress can flex some muscle and in this case it did, for reasons I still don't understand since those who voted it down have remained anonymous for the most part.
I'm not sure what you mean about not ending the war, i'm guessing because you are/weren't in the executive, but yeah we made it clear we want to end the war. I'm sure my saying this here in the comments sections makes it fairly clear. It's a pointless war in my eyes. You took a shot at us while we had several NE's/air strike going around, so fair enough, but that is long over (well, unless you count the random German AS). As for funding, i'm not sure you are aware of what Rylde does, but he holds these fundraisers that brings in roughly 200k a piece. Another one is going on right now. So government funding is not all of our funding either, but we have that too.
You could put your money to better use with an airstrike, perhaps? I mean, I guess we'll both get some TP damage out of this, but nothing will change. It's not like you're going to occupy us lol.
UK is still spending no money on COs. Prepare for a loooong wipe.
I don't understand this comment, I thought you'd been made responsible for a whole heap of cc for COs ? Personally I really don't give a rat's arse for COs, the newbs who want the money get little due to low dmg, those that get more don't really need it. We need more patriotism, more focus and actual clearly defined enemies rather than the typical 'lets play war' with Canada.
I agree with you but that's how this game works. If you want more fighters you need COs. And no, I've not being give huge piles of cc for COs. It's my money.
This makes no sense, considering this article states you spent 275k ever since going on the offensive. Since we handed over the initiative, our government has spent nothing on CO's. This was by directive of our CP.
If you think you can keep us wiped, you're just as delusional as the people over here who think we can keep the UK wiped.
Almost none of the country money has been spent on the offensive. We'll see what time brings.
O7
Where are screenshots that you said in Congress you will provide about missing 75k cc from the treasury?
Personally, I think you've been an excellent CP.
The money on COs was well spent. Thanks for the update! And I fully support you as CP, I think you're doing a good job.

A great term as CP Huey!
You really did your duty for the eUK!
o7
You done a great job Huey, just what I would expect from you, ignore the perma knockers as they always crawl out of the wood work.
Huey to become King o7
You did a fine job huey, there will always be critics but I would call it a good term for you.
great term huey, well done o7
It's a hard job, but somebody has to do it.
You didn't completely cock it up...so that's a tick in the 'success' box 😉
Thankfully, the bar isn't too high in eUK. All you gotta do is not get wiped and it's a successful term.
God bless low self esteem!
Indeed now you've got that CP medal you can go round boasting about how great you are for ever and a day like the others have 🙂
In fact get to 4 CP medals and you can walk off with the treasury.
Which reminds me, not that I would know what to do as CP or have any chance of winning, but if anyone ever sees me even considering attempting to run - DO NOT SUPPORT ME
Excellent report!!!
