New Exchange Rate Benchmarks: Increasing the Value of the Pound
Bank of England
The Bank of England is leading a government effort to increase the value of the Pound. With the market and economy of the United Kingdom showing signs of improving, we feel it is time to strengthen our currency once again. Thus, the Bank of England announces the following recommended exchange rate benchmarks.
GBP:
1 GBP = 0.032 Gold
Gol😛
1 Gold = 40 GBP
The Bank of England will only place offers on the monetary market at these rates for the foreseeable future. This is an increase over the previous exchange rate benchmarks (0.028 Gold/GBP and 38 GBP/Gold).
This measure is designed to increase the value of the GBP. This will make your GBP worth more than they are today. Thus, it is to everyone's benefit - especially those who play the monetary market - to embrace these new exchange rate benchmarks and not stray more than a point or two below them. A little cooperation will go a long way towards increasing all of our fortunes and ensuring the prosperity of the entire United Kingdom.
Remember those new exchange rate benchmarks when engaging in money market transactions.

Excellent work. Voted.
you seriously expect people t stick to that?
people are going to go as hi or low as they fee like regardless of what the bank does.
Isn't that counterproductive? You're selling at more gold per GBP, and yet more pounds per gold. 1 GBP=0.032 gold should translate into 1 gold=31.25 GBP, or something along those lines.
Yes, but who is going to buy Gold for a higher price?
its a nice idea but could only work in a 'perfect world' which erepublik certainly isnt
why?
Surely 40GBP to 1 Gold means that GBP is worth less than if it was worth, say, 35GBP to 1 Gold. Added to that, if theres gold on the market for 38GBP, people arent going to pay 2GBP extra because the Bank Of England thinks they should. Its not going to hurt me, I only trade in USD so I can make a bit of money on the side.
Yeah, i just thought that. Surely you're devaluing the pound?

I would like to point out my brilliant charitable side in this endeavour as I have just bought out all offers below 0.32 and put them up at 0.32.
So if you want to repay my kind generosity please buy from 'The CCCP Bank' 😉
