PTX - Problem
I want you!
I got one less, one less prob-prob-prob
I want you!
I got one less, one less (listen to me), oh!
As I’ve stated in previous articles I came back to the game and found that I enjoyed being here again as well as in the Meta. For me that is where I find fun, in the conversations I have and the people I’ve gotten to know. Even with the negativity on those boards, the interactions I have found there are what have kept me coming back.
This is not the case for a portion of the community. I have been told that in order to win I need to discount the people in game who are not in the Meta and maybe that’s so, maybe it isn’t, but have we really asked them what they think?
Most of of my thoughts surrounding Citizens Affairs involve actual Citizens that play this game. What we currently have are two different games, eRep and Meta. They have vast differences while they also have some similarities. I don’t need to explain the differences because I believe they are plainly obvious. These two games are also sharply divided and I believe it is time that to change.
Our DoCA does an amazing job helping the players and giving them activities for fun, but I would like to see a program designed for helping players navigate to the forums. We give them links in our welcome messages but we don’t really go farther than that.
It is my understanding, from the PM’s I have received, that there are a number of people who can not get on the Meta due to issues with emails not being received. There are also a group of people who avoid the Meta like a plague because it is a rather nasty place to be sometimes.
The eUS forums can be very difficult to navigate for the new person. This position will be under CA as a deputy and their job will be to help people who want to be in the meta to get there.
But there is another side to this. Those who don’t wish to be there.
This position will also be tasked with engaging people who don’t want to be in the meta. I wish to find out what you want and what you think without subjecting you to the eUS forums. I want to know how you think our gaming experience can be improved, here, in the actual game. I want you to have a voice in what goes on in your government. The decision as to whether to be involved in what happens needs to be up to you, but you shouldn’t have to be in the Meta to have that voice.
This position will be your voice.
The position listed above, while under the DoCA as a deputy in the Meta, in game, will be the Community Liaison
Using his paper, and the tools available to him in game, I expect him to start a conversation with you about what your issues are. He will have all of the access he needs in the Meta, as a full cabinet member, to bring your issues to the cabinet.
I have asked a very new member of the game to take this position because I believe it is very important that this be someone who is open to listening to you.
Walter Hartwell White has graciously agreed to take up this thankless job.
I hope you afford him all due respect for being willing to do it.
I mentioned in my announcement article that I would be willing to look at the idea of bringing back eNPR. While I’m not sure there is the listenership to do it, I think it deserve to be considered. eNPR was something I enjoyed doing back when I was one of the Co-Hosts. If I find through both the position above and thoughts from the Meta that there is interest in reviving it, then I will.
My next article will focus on my thoughts on Defense.
As always PM me with any suggestions or thoughts you have or if you would like to be on my team.

Hype Train Full Speed Ahead!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you need someone to stream eNPR, I can stream it for you (but no guarantee I'll participate 😉 )
I think you will...
This sounds like a lot of "doing stuff" ugh. Good luck!
Interesting take!
I'll just say this: I'm a two-clicker and as a two-clicker I'm not overall impressed with either of the current candidates. The good thing of this type of playing is that I can say whatever I want without further political consequences or public lynching.
I had the opportunity to work with both in the past in different contexts and in terms of personality both can be somewhat condescending at times. It's not the type of quality I'd want in a CP but that is just my opinion. In terms of platforms, I'd go with MR but I would quite possibly question the feasibility of it with the community going down everyday and the eUS forums becoming a place where trolling breeds. Not to mention the fact USA has a really bad reputation, not just externally but also internally given what I previously said.
As for the cabinets of both candidates, I'm indifferent. It's basically the same so there's really no picking criteria.

🙂
I think you have your outreach backwards. Bring the forums back into relevance for the citizenry. That is, bring the "meta" (I hate that word) into the game. Don't bring the game into the "meta".
How? Maybe write a daily congressional article with a discussion of the day. Comments are the debate area. It's raw, unfiltered and unmoderated. I'm sure there are more and better ideas out there.
Some stuff still has to be in the secret squirrel club, no doubt. Who is ASing who and when is probably already public knowledge, but it's important to be seen to care about secrecy sometimes. That's for the cabinet and executive level folk. Not the 50 odd regular congress d00ds.
I suppose I do have it a bit backwards but it was the only way I saw to start a discussion like this. Ideas like this are exactly why I want to do this.
See how much better it is to use in-game tools? 🙂
I doubt you'll get any contribution from me on the eUS forum. To say the site is intimidating and troll infested is the understatement of the year!
Ya know after this election. I might just totally agree with you.
hey ur a 'Murican now!? I missed this. welcome 🙂
Thanks. Been a week or so now.
At least you're not the Pakistani Dicktaker these days 🙂
haha yeah i needed to see what it was like being a dick 😃
As someone who refused to join the eUSA forums until late last year when I was made a congresswoman. Since that month, I have rarely returned to those forums. There are a few players there who seem to relish in making it an unpleasant experience. The vitriol there keeps me from viewing the forums unless there is something I am super interested/curious in.
I suggested long ago that it be done and always voted articles by people who posted forum discussions in game. The positives of this policy is enormous. A player doesn't need to join another site to participate in this game, they are spared the negative environment of that external site and they receive information about the game they are playing, IN the game.
amen.
I always tell new players to avoid the EUS forums because they are irrelevant. Anything that goes on there can happen in game, and it is mostly used as a way to control players. So unless you're planning on moving everything back in game, this is a moot point. The forums are toxic and will continue to be.
Forum trolls should be red-listed from the actual game until they apologize to the masses of players for their narcissistic unpleasantness and make a pledge to uphold the SFP Constitution _to the letter_. 🙂
Never change PQ
New player here, from what I can tell, communication is a key factor in keeping news players playing.
It was a little difficult figuring out my party's irc chat due to it not being on the page, that being said I feel certain details like that can discourage those that are unwilling to look.
I'm very interested in how things will look under your leadership. You have my vote 🙂
