Vilmos újra hódít? - William the Conqueror at the gates?

Lengyelország után mára virradóra Svédország is megtámadta Angliát (Nordjylland --> Skócia), aktiválva ezzel Anglia MPP-it. Önálló blokkolásnak kissé rizikós művelet ez, tekintsük hát át, milyen lehetőségei vannak az EDEN-nek Anglia ellen.

A szigetország stratégiai helyzetét két dolog jellemzi:
1. A brüsszeli RW győzelme után mindenütt eredeti régióin áll.
2. Miközben a Phoenix tagállamaival csak egyetlen helyen szomszédosak (South Netherlands-East of England), öt, illetve potenciálisan hat EDEN-ország is határolja:
- az USA (South West England és Wales irányából)
- Kanada (Skócia, Wales és South West England (thx. vasmegye!) irányából)
- Svédország (a most is aktív skót támadási irányból de North East England felől is)
- Norvégia (Skóciában)
- és a francia és belga partvidéket megszálló spanyolok a déli part mindhárom régiójában
A fentieken kívül ugrásra készen áll Lengyelország is, amely bármikor képes régiócserére Spanyolországgal, így a déli három brit tartomány közül kis szervezéssel bármelyiket megtámadhatja (vasárnap esti UPDATE: ez be is következett).
Ez azt jelenti, hogy az EDEN összesen 6 eredeti régióban képes támadást indítani az Egyesült Királyság ellen.

A fent említett EDEN-országokkal Anglia mind nyílt háborúban áll, ezek közül az USA ellen 7 MPP-t aktivált. Az USA támadása esetén így Görögország, Horvátország, Finnország, Svájc és Ausztrália is a britek ellen vonulhat. A norvég háborúban 4 MPP állna a skandinávok mellett, közte a még nem említett román is, így a kis norvégok is kulcsszerepet játszanak az esetleges invázióban. Angliának 10 MPPje van (ezek közül a német csak papíron létezik), amelyek a PHOENIX fő hatalmait mind lefedik.

A minapi lengyel támadást tekinthetjük erőszakos felderítésnek, amelyből kiderült, hogy a PHOENIX és a brit védelem együtt megerőltetés nélkül vert több mint egymilliós sebzést a támadó lengyelekre. Némi rásegítéssel a védelem hatékonysága nyilván akár a háromszorosára is emelhető. Ez ellen nincs olyan EDEN-állam, amely a siker reményével próbálkozhatna.

Az egyetlen lehetőség a kombinált támadás. Az egyszerre hat ponton (sőt, ügyes szervezéssel akár egy ponton több irányból is) meginduló támadás teljes EDEN-Phoenix háború lenne. A sokfrontos harcban - mint láthattuk a szlovén RW-rally esetében is - a támadóé az előny. Ő tudja a saját célját, hová fogja a csapást összpontosítani, a védőnek pedig ennek ismerete nélkül mndenütt falat kell építenie. A támadás lendületét így napokig fenn lehet tartani, a briteket gyorsan - becslésem szerint maximum 3-4 nap alatt - egyetlen régióra vissza lehet szorítani.

Ne legyen illúziónk abban az ügyben, hogy majd ott megállnak, mint mi tettük Floridánál. Az utolsó megmaradt régió a támadók szándékai szerint valószínűleg West Midlands vagy East Midlands lenne, hiszen ezek határosak a legtöbb régióval, így ha mindegyiket más ország szállja meg, a harc többfrontos jellege az utolsó régióban is megmaradna.

IRL Angliát Hódító Vilmos, 1066 óta senki nem tudta támadni a szárazföldön. Erepes emlékeim szerint tavaly március óta is csak a mi skóciai - megállapodás alapján történt - vendégszereplésünk idején nem birtokolták minden régiójukat. A fenti lehetőség elhárítását azonban tisztán védekezéssel a Phoenix-nél lényegesen erősebb szövetség sem remélhetné. A görög-török front fellángolása mellett más támadó lehetőségeket is kell szövetségünknek keresnie.

Ja és akkor még az újabb RW-rallykról és Oroszország jilini fullblokkjáról nem is beszéltem.

After the Polish attempt, this night Sweden attacked Scotland, thus activated the MPPs of the UK. It would be a risky maneouvre as an isolated blocking, so it's time to have an overview about the EDEN's offensive possibilities against England.

The strategic situation of the British Isles are characterised by two things:
1. After the success of the Brussels RW, she owns her original regions only
2. As they have only one Phoenix neighbour (South Netherlands-East of England), there are borders with five (potentially six) EDEN members:
- USA at South West England and Wales
- Canada at Scotland, Wales and South West England
- Sweden at Scotland and North East England
- Norway at Scotland
- Spain (from the occupied French and Belgian coasts) at all the three southern regions.
Moreover, Poland can swap regions with Spain anytime and can attack at any southern region where the Spaniards can (UPDATE: THIS ATTACK HAS ALREADY STARTED).
So, the EDEN can perform six attack simultaneously against the UK.

UK has open active wars with all of the above mentioned EDEN states. The USA has 7 activated MPPs against England, so while attacking, Greece, Croatia, Finland, Switzerland and Australia could join the assault (not mentioning the bordering powers). Norway is also important with her 4 activated MPPs, among them the still not mentioned Romanian one. UK has 10 MPPs (among them the German one exists merely on the paper), covering the main Phoenix powers.

The yesterdays Polish attack could have been a fighting recce. The result was that the combined (but not forced) firepower of the UK and her allies is more than 1M damage less than the Polish one. The defense efficiency can be doubled or even trebled if it is important. No EDEN power can face it alone.

The only possibility is the combined invasion. The assault, started at six (but with clever organization even at more) points, would be a full-scale EDEN-Phoenix war. In multi-fronts wars (remember the USA campaign in last summer or the Slovenian RW rally this week) the attacked has the upper hand. He knows where he wants to strike while the defender has to build high walls at any possible direction. The momentum of the assault can be maintained for days. The Brits can be defeated quickly - according to my estimation, during 3-4 days - to only one last region.

Have no illusion, the attack won't stop there as ours did at Florida. Accoding to the best assault plan, the last remaining region would be West Midlands or East Midlands, as they have the most neightbouring regions. If all borders are held by different invader, the multi-front character of the war can be maintain at the last region, too.

Britain has not been invaded IRL since the 1066 attack of William the Conqueror. According to my erep memories, since last March only the - coordinated - Hungarian march through Scotland touched the British soil. Although, the defense against the above described invasion could not be successful even for an alliance much more powerful than the Phoenix. Besides the reviving of the Turco-Greek front, our alliance has to find another offensive opportunities.

And I still haven't mentioned the current RW rallies and the full block of Russia at Jilin...
