The Economist ~ This is the end

Obligatory theme music.
Dear Friends,
Today I gladly shrug off the mantle of government and step out of the limelight. I’m not going to waste time with retrospective now- maybe in a few months. After all, you’ve just lived through my month, no need to relive it again so soon. I will however post a couple of pictures, as I can’t resist a little bit of gloating on this day.
Before
After
Now, the future. A few days ago I published an article coming out in favour of jamesw. In my opinion he was the best candidate, but single opinions don’t win elections. I have always been massively in favour of the basic principle that once elections are won, the bickering and animosity that arises during a campaign must be thrown aside for the good of the nation. I preferred jamesw, but I have no doubt that JB will be a decent Prime Minister, especially with Dishmcds behind him.
In the future the UK has some short term and long term goals it needs to achieve. None of these goals are military ones. With Dublin taken, the only room for military expansion is into NE/SE Ireland, and those regions are largely worthless. The economics of war mean that opening battles costs gold. For example the Dublin battle cost around 170 gold to open, which is quite a lot for a country of our income. Its 500 citizens will recompense us somewhat, but all the cost effective military goals have now been accomplished. We have reached out and taken every advantage, now it’s our job to secure and consolidate or goals. I also want to say that nobody in the UK expects to hold Dublin forever, it is more an exercise in fun and epic trolling that a genuine military move
😛
Economically the UK is on shaky ground. Our books are balanced, more or less, in terms of GBP spending. However, gold is impossible to get hold of, and the high cost of MPPs mean that to a large extent those MPPs come straight out of our gold reserves, which are by no means bottomless. Without a larger player base, the UK will likely grow weaker over the coming months. This trend is reflected across the eWorld, with some countries losing as many as 10-20 thousand players. If every UK citizen invited one other person, the cumulative effect on our economy would be enormous. Remember, you get gold for everyone you invite- that’s what launched my business career early on. Our major long term goal must be the doubling of our population.
Right now we all need to pull together. It isn’t the time for petty politics, it’s the time for manning up as a nation and realising that very soon there are only going to be a few of us left. When Dish won in January we had about 1300 voters, now we’re down to 500. Five hundred is nothing, barely enough to defend what we have and run an economy. I’d say the UK needs at least 1000 active citizens just to run our economy in an efficient manner, never mind maintain a political and military presence. So we need to pull together, throw in our gold and make a difference this month. We need recruitment, co-operation, an end to petty jibes and the beginning of a strong, united, Kingdom.
Finally, what about me? Well I’m not dead
😛It looks like for the first time in over a year I won’t be serving in the government in some capacity, but I will still be around if anyone needs to call on me for advice...or as a headsman hahaha. The future for me is up, back to my position as Phoenix Treasurer. I won the vote there today with about 80% of the vote (I abstained for the UK). Dishmcds is the new Secretary General (along with Baltazar, a Serb) and Mr Woldy is the head of the Bureau of Diplomatic Security. So a typically Brit-heavy Phoenix team. We’ll be getting on doing what I did this month, but with the whole of Phoenix. It’ll be good, doing what I am best at- managing economies and organising countries.
Thank you again for your support, especially all of you who took the time to message me over the course of the month with your support-
Iain Keers
Phoenix Treasurer
