Adding eTaiwan as a country? Admin, YOU ARE STUPID?
In terms of game play, this action will touch the nerves of the RL Chinese government (to be more precise, it is the Propaganda Department of CCP), and most likely this will result in a ban of this game in mainland China. Even if you change it to eRepublic of China, this is still not accepted by this RL government of 1300 million of people.
In terms of business and revenue, it is one of the worst cases in terms of profitability. There are so many things you can do to push up the revenue, why you have chosen this way?
In terms of politics, it will damage the relationship between RL Romania and RL China. This is not so funny as you can imagine. We BOTH hurt!
However, everyone of us is not perfect. I'm not going to set-up a political debate here, so everything is around this game. So, here I'm suggesting a solution to you to sort out the problems above:
- Stop establishing eTaiwan, just leave it as it is.
or
- Add Taiwan as a province of eChina. However, this will make some of our players unhappy, but the consequence is far less severe than the consequence I've mentioned above.
or
- Add ALL disputed countries in RL world into eRepublik to make it a fantasy-style game. eKosovo, eNorth Cyprus, eWestern Sahara, eChechnya, eSouth Ossetia, eAbkhazia, eCatalonia, eQuebec, eCalifornia, or even eAntarctica!

This is solely a game, it is not going to change something in RL.

Well, It could happen, but if we switch the point of view, whe have to recognize that this is a way to Show Erepublik as free, open and fair game.

Well... right now, adding most of them would be pretty unsane. But later if they produce enough traffic (and if they buy good quantity of Gold 😃) it wouldn´t be aproblem.

nothing more to add. its realy stiupid to do that things, like add eTaiwan. That will bringe some players from Taiwan, but eRep gonna be perm baned in China. So muche more will stop play. Also ALL of new countrys exept NZ and Cyprus gonna be pro PHX because of IRL history and connections. But NZ and Cyprus (especialy NZ) will be pTO asap by phx multis like eAustralia.

Admins are confused people, don't blame them... blame those who dictate them how to arrange this game.
I think players should be able to establish and disestablish nations. So if you had a resistance war in Taiwan or Tibet that succeeded, then you could set up a new nation. The Lone Star Republic could live again. The Scots would be singing Flower of Scotland as they rise for Bonnie Prince Charlie. The possibilities are endless.
i can totally understand that maybe we should wait until a later date to add eTaiwan like maybe after we have most other countries with the required internet traffic rate or however the admins decide it

They said they will add Kosovo and Metohija as a part of Serbia when they develop kind of liberation module where you could create new countries.
Not only they didn't develop that module, they made an epic fail (as it seems) with whole Rising.
Create liberation module, add all disputed regions and off we go!

It means little politics to me about Taiwan issues, but I only fear about the permanent ban from mainland China - you should know websites such as Youtube, Facebook and Twitter have already been excluded from the whole mainland China region, and the government does not care adding eRepublik to that list.

Don't be stupid. Taiwan (Republic of China) is not a province of Red China (People's Republic of China), it is an independently governed nation of its own. What's wrong with it being the same in game as it is in real life?
Admins, keep your backbone and don't get scared into not adding a legitimate new nation to the game because a real life nation might block eRepublik.

Also, I ain't say anything on the legitimacy on Taiwan/ROC as a country, but at least admin is doing something stupid in terms of game play.
If real world disputes weren't here the map would look like something from Civilization IV. That is some of the problems with the game. RL makes some in game hatred.

Sounds a little crazy at first but this IS a FANTASY game. Why NOT!
I, first thought about players being able to create their own...WAY too FAIL! Interesting but just wouldn't work. On the other hand, having vast multitudes...even Antartica would...if fully controlled by admins. Realism is great...in it's place...NOT(2 much)here.
