Whilst I agree with the sentiment, I'd point out that suggesting Rusofil74 is in the closet is also a form a homophobic comment. You're implying that a class exists of bad people who make homophobic comments because they are in the closet, being of course homosexuals who've not come out, they are still homosexuals, just haven't come out. Thus a protected class, the homosexual, is being punched down on due to their status of not coming out. Instead of implying that Rusofil74 is bad for holding the status of being in the closet, we should be making him feel accepted for his homosex existence. The flip side, that we don't think he's homosexual, and thus using the suggestion of being closet which requires the status of homosexual, is inappropriate. Using a protected group as a slander for a non member of a protected group, even with the good intention of 'I knew it would upset him, because he's upset by incorrect attribution of status as a homosex person is still inappropriate. I think the sticking point for a lot of people is not realizing that closet status isn't isolated and heterosexual before exiting said closet, i.e. not like being innocent until proven guilty.
