[Congress] End of Term Report
UNL Congress
Greetings citizens of Netherlands,
Firstly, I want to again applaud Tim Veltkamp for his congress statistics. As CoC I also use a spreadsheet throughout this term, and I also planned to share it as one of my final actions as CoC.
If you want the sheet itself, I've uploaded it to a Google sheet (select the appropriate month at the bottom). If you can't wait to see the contents, check the following screenshot (parties and CMs in the order of the election results):
As CoC, I want to remain neutral, so I won't comment on the individual voting behavior. I'll leave it entirely up to the reader to interpret this sheet. The individual votes (Yes, No, Neutral) are shown.
List of all the debates that led to a vote:
* Chairman of congress June-July 2019: djirtsdew was chosen as CoC with Shawtyl0w as his deputy
* New Deputy Chairman of Congress: Congress approved of Janty F as a replacement deputy CoC
List of administration votes (all accepted):
* MPP with eRussia
* MPP with ePortugal
* Return of excess concession fees to eIran
* Renewal of our Iron concession to eIran
* Renewal of our Fish concession to eIran
* MPP with eIsrael
* Return of excess concession fees to eIran
* Transfer of 400k NLG from the treasury to the EZ org
* Renewal of our Sand concession to eCanada

As I am no longer CoC, hereby a comment on some troubling voting behavior I notice in the above figure. This mainly concerns Ryan.Rodney.Reynolds who has voted No on each administration vote he participated in. In all these cases he is opposing our government, without ever giving any explanation in the congress debating thread.
This includes votes related to our resource concessions, both the concessions themselves, and the money we are obligated to return. I don't know what financial master plan is behind this, but I don't understand how somebody can openly be against the main source of income for eNL without any reason given...
If it's just for lolz, I don't approve. I feel it's a shame that it is so easy to be elected these days, that people can continue as CMs while acting like there are no consequences to their actions. In real life you'd be kicked out of the party and probably wouldn't stand a chance getting reelected.
I've approached Ryan.Rodney.Reynolds on the matter of resource concessions. He stated that he didn't want our resources to be rented out. Also he doesn't care about the government programs funded by the resource concessions. Sadly he wasn't willing to change his mind. Anyway since you touched the subject I figured I would share this information.
Okay, I can see some logic in this. That suggests he differs in opinion on this topic with all top-5 parties, so that he stands out in the voting statistics makes sense. And it also means that he cannot change to a party that better matches his opinion...
I mean, De Tegenpartij sounds like an ideal place for him, given its name 😶 .
That party was a RL fictional party in the Netherlands: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tegenpartij
I don't think he'd fit in with their party program (they promised amongst others "riches for all").
Well, since the Congress elections basically have little to none importance with big Congress lately (because all candidates get in), it is quite hard for Party President to do something about him... however I don't think his Party President objects this behavior.
On the other hand, voting NO on concession returns repeatedly (when concessions returns are a thing both Congress and government are obliged to do because Congress decided we have concessions, therefore everyone should vote YES atleast on that) equals to me as disrespect to Congress decisions, and open rebellion towards it. For me, it is the same as conitnually disrespecting our Law. And I think MoNC and Blacklists votes have been started for less petty reasons...
He is always the bottom candidate for his party, so it might be that his party president does object, but is relatively powerless, due to the large congress.
I hope Party president will clarify that for us 🙂 .
