Greetings, citizens of Netherlands,
this article summarizes the results of all the votes going through our Congress in the last term. More details can be found, as usual, in the Dutch Congress Transparency Doc.

Only one outgame vote has been held, and those were the traditional elections of Chairman of Congress.

With the start of the new Congress, a new candidacy period for Chairman of Congress will be opened in a separate article. The current representatives would like to express their wish to continue in their job to maintain the high standards of this office (which has come under scrutiny during some past administrations). However in order to make sure the Chairman works as well as expected, feedback from Congress members and citizens alike is important. Therefore we would like to ask you for some feedback on current term in the comment section.

I had some trouble reading the table until I realised it was right-to-left...
Regarding my own inactivity: I was on a holiday at the beginning of September. So I missed three consecutive votes (I could only use the app).
What's going on with I&W? It is remarkable how much opposed to all proposals they seem to be. I for one don't remember them that way from the past. And I also fail to understand what they hope to achieve with this. Being against everything the other parties are in favour of, means they are getting cut off from the rest of congress...
I hope they'll start some debates so that they can explain their viewpoints so that hopefully we can reconnect. Because right now a rift in our community is definitely starting to form, which may be hard to undo if we stay on this course.
It's always easier to have the newest vote on the left side, so that I can see and update the new vote quickly and make images for weekly articles without any editing. Also, in the document, each vote has its in-game link in the comment, so people do not lose themselves easily, while reading it, and they can always access more in-game detail with one or two simple clicks. But, for the sake of understandability (if that is a word), there could always be a row with number of the vote (it could even be helpful for some statistics or whatnot as well).
About the rift - I think it has always been here ever since I&W refused to participate and strongly opposed all the ideas and programs, that transformed Netherlands into an active community. It is a party, that thrives on native 2-clickers, and had their biggest success in times, when nothing was happening in the country and therefore they could silently collect medals without any effort. Netherlands is no longer such a country, it is far better now. And during previous months, efforts were made by multiple members of both Congress and government to approach them, and convince them to reconsider their opinion... yet their leadership refused all of it.
So unless the less visible party members (like Tim Veltkamp, who is clearly in opposition in his own party; or people like mylech or Chean, who probably might not even be aware about what their leaders are doing, because they do not care about politics) manage to change leadership of their party, I highly doubt there will be any change. The current leaders prefer to be isolated and opposed to all good or foreign, and the only way to heal the rift for them would be to abandon and reverse everything we have achieved during last year. In which case their rift would close, but you would open four other rifts instead 🙂 .
I don't believe the mere fact one is voting against everything, even mere procedural transfers of funds, gives one any legitimacy to be treated with a silk glove in an attempt to 'reconnect'. Focussing on people that are not in Congress at all now and are ''disconnected'' from day-to-day politics, or Dutch people abroad that grew disillusioned with us seem to frankly deserve way more attention.
