Winter Wonderland
Sophia Forrester
My last article's fears of a stormy winter turned out to be overblown. The South Koreans willingly called off their invasion, and the war we now fight is against our closest allies, the Americans, for the sake of a region swap. Using the Natural Enemy feature to create a free war will end up being cheaper for both our countries, even after factoring in the costs of starting so many Resistance Wars to return the rest of our regions. That said, it's a little nerve-wracking to watch our regions be automatically conquered one by one.
Would this be the end of eJapan? Not quite.
The Natural Enemy was set nearly one week ago, so it should be able to be canceled today or tomorrow. The war has been a bit of a wake-up call: Our strongest military efforts cannot match our allies, the US, when they are trying not to win. However, the money from the rental of Chubu will be used to import weapons and rebuild our military: A long overdue effort to strengthen eJapan.
New equipment for the army -- good luck to our soldiers!
It has certainly been hectic to watch us lose our regions one after another. That said, it's good to have regular battles, for training and experience. Throughout the region swap process, President Kita Ikki has worked very hard to keep both the Imperial Diet and the people in the loop. He has written several informative articles, and frequently posted to the Diet to update us on the process. In particular, when I and others had overreacted to the South Korean attack, believing that they meant to conquer us, President Kita was able to negotiate a truce by appealing to our common interests. This cautious approach ended up helping quite a bit more than my own worries of one week ago.
Whaat? They just jumped the gun trying to region swap? Well if you say so...
So after all the fears of the past month, we end in awe, still puzzling through the wonders of e-world geopolitics. We can be thankful that we have not yet faced the danger our Australian brothers face even now, of a hostile neighbor intent on conquest. And yet the new year lies open, like a snowy field. Where will our path lead?

So in that snowfield, where should our path lead? I'm curious to see what people think. Thanks minna!
Indeed, it's been a little nerve wracking on this end, too, because while the free battles are nice, the new 24 hour auto-attack in the new combat module has added a sense of urgency that did not exist previously. Still, I've been in close communication with eUSA CP Josh Frost and MoFA St Krems to make sure this goes as smoothly as possible.
I am also happy to say that, once payments are made, whoever is CP next month (could be me, could be someone else) will have a firmer foundation to build up the military for those battles where our opponent might not be trying to lose.
Japan will progress as it always has; under the heel of the highly motivated group in power at the time. It will then shift into its revolution phase when several new members are able to successfully thwart the back-room deals of the previous generation, and as the saviors of democracy settle in, their lot will be cast in the same way. We are, forever, walking circles in the snow, with each storm covering our tracks, making us think we are on new ground.

I approve of the pictures. Will read in detail as soon as I have time.
Voted, I think this gives a great analysis of the most pressing issues eJapan faces.
Quick Update on the above, all members of congress please vote YES to the new no natural enemy law proposal:

Ah, thanks? 😁;; I'm glad the pictures have made my recent articles more readable. It was something I've definitely wanted to improve.
Geno -- it's not all circles. There are hills and valleys here. We should keep an eye out so one doesn't surprise us!
Thanks for everyone's comments!
nice
As I said before - 70 gold for region is ridiculous price. More ridiculous this is that everything they pay will go in them market by ''importing'' weapons. RL Japan is so economy strong because they never act like you, they only import raw materials and export finished production.
@Necropunk "RL Japan" != eJapan
"RL Japan is so economy strong because they never act like you, they only import raw materials and export finished production."
Actually, the most profitable eJapanese companies do export their products, mainly to the eUSA. This is not possible, of course, as embargoes and wars between two nations prevent trade, but watch where the eJapanese companies with eUSA export licenses currently offering weapons move their offers when the war embargo is lifted in about 40 hours from now.
Do you know how much eCyprus got from eTurkey for its grain region? Nothing. eTurkey wiped them out and got the region for free. eGreece now occupies it after it took it from eTurkey. eJapan's active population is much lower than our major neighbors (eRussia, eUSA, and eChina), so we have to walk a fine balance before demanding the moon.
I see you have a point mister president. Still I believe that samurais would better fight till death than give away they lands because of fear. But looks like eRep Japan society is more hentay lovers than samurais.
Just stop calling this nation Empire because you are offending RL Japan history.
