Yesterday's article was a change for me! I'd like to thank Geno Garon for telling me how to use the
Things are already looking up. As most everyone knows by now, eJapanese candidate Kita Ikki won a landslide victory yesterday against Indonesian national and suspected PTO candidate Calon Rakyat Jelata. The Imperial Diet is also getting back up to speed with a couple of new threads in our Congress forum after the elections. There are also a couple older threads that are getting interest, most notably the economic ones. To take advantage of the new resource mechanics, a few of us wanted to trade resources with South Korea. We could trade Fruit or Aluminum in exchange for Jeju's Grain. Unfortunately, it does not look like this will happen. The new battle mechanics could make resource trades cost-prohibited for all but the larger nations, which have the military strength to keep them in the face of Resistance Wars started by medal hunters. The consensus seems to be to wait and see for now. Citizens are invited to view or join in the debates at the link below:

I am also really excited by some new activity in the ULJ. The Party President, Akira Kaburagi, unfortunately will go a few weeks without regular access to the Internet on a PC, although he is connecting with a mobile and aware of events in-game. However, in exchange, we've had a great amount of activity from new members, in the ULJ's forum on the national site. The most active is Master Tigers, an experienced citizen who recently immigrated from France and is now one of our Congress Members. He is behind the revival of the ULJ avatars, which had been drawn by Tanaka Fujimori but became harder to find once he quit. I am really excited at all this enthusiasm and invite all Lolies to check out our forum here:

Because the forum might not recognize you, new or unregistered citizens will have to register according to the instructions here:

I hope to see a lot of enthusiasm and activity in the days ahead.

Votado~ Thx 4 the update, looks like we will have wars to fight in without gold-funding, cool!
Thanks for commenting! Yes, the new system could be very fun to play out -- just needs some adjusting from what we're all accustomed to. I'm an optimist. ^.^
Are RW medals cost effective or do people just want to collect them for fun?
I can put a sexy frame for ULJ members, come on the forum 😉
honestly, this is good article but less of comments

So much for a unity candidate not working eh Sophia? I would like to know your thought now after you were wrong.
Member of our Imperial Diet Sophia Forrester delivers more good information and useful links. We are going to try to address the region-swap problems. A possible deal with eSK to lend them Chugoku (they need our square watermelon FRUIT resources) in exchange for Jeju grain will probably not work due to their concern that they will not be able to hold onto the region due to RW medal hunters.
@Light Nacel "Are RW medals cost effective or do people just want to collect them for fun?"
If by "cost effective" you mean, can you actually make money/gold doing them, the answer is no. Generally the cost in gold to start the war (plus all the costs to actually win it, often done by high-strength tanks) is not offset by the gold from the treasure maps, even if you win most of the battle hero medals.
Well written article Sophia. Good luck on the ULJ PP elections.
@Light Nacel
They want to collect them for fun.

Representative Ball, you should pay closer attention. My main objection was never that a unity candidate would not work. It was that a unity candidate would not have made us significantly more likely to succeed. As is, if we had split Kita's votes two ways, we'd still have been assured victory. The threat was less than anticipated, and we won because the expected threat did not appear. Mind you, it's a good idea to prepare for threats, whether or not they materialize. I suggest to those who prioritize security that, on the off chance they would like to resurrect the idea of a primary, they start a bit earlier in the coming month.
@calon
Wow, a polite Indonesian! At least, the words look polite in Google Translate. I have responded in English and will also use Google Translate to respond. Hopefully it is not difficult to understand.
We have nothing against you in particular, but if you continue trying to PTO us, we will simply continue to band closer together. I suggest that if you are bored and want to pull off a PTO, then you should pick an easier target. Your continued presence here ensures that our community will not be friendly to Indonesia in our foreign policy.
Translation below:
Wow, sebuah sopan Bahasa Indonesia!
Good article I guess, voted.

Sophia, Kita netted about 165 votes and Calon had around 85.
The Indos gave up near the end of the election because there was no way Calon could catch up. However if we ran Geno and Kita, the most likely scenario would have been Geno and Kita splitting the votes nearly evenly. This would mean Calon would be down by only 5-15 votes and we would have seen a much harder push from the Indos. They probably would have gained to upwards of around 100ish as we saw in the previous election.
Sophia, exReality is right. Had I run, it is much more likely we would have seen the true multi-vote come out. As it is, a lot of the multies didn't vote to hide their numbers for next election, hoping for a much closer election, or better yet, a split vote. When it comes down to raw numbers, have 150 votes is obviously better than having 100 votes, giving the generous assumption that a 50/50 split does not occur. I can almost guarantee that of all the voted cast for Calon, only 4 would have gone to me if I ran, but many more would have been stolen from Kita, and when you don't know the exact numbers, you never know what lost vote will be the straw that breaks the voter's back.
damn why i can't access the forum... 😣
