Gaming Headsets And General Gaming

Hey everyone,
I hope you all have had a wonderful Thursday! I haven't been able to write until now as I somehow managed to break my laptop's keyboard so I was stuck on mobile. I finally got an external keyboard today
😃
Anyway, as most of you probably don't know I am an avid gamer. Unfortunately, I'm not a purist PC gamer... just a run-of-the-mill console gamer
😛I have the Playstation 4 since it was released and I have to say that I am absolutely delighted with it. I chose it over the Xbox One mainly due to the fact that I don't like the Xbox controller, I love the Playstation exclusive games (Hitman etc.) and habit (I've been with Playstation since their first console).
Soooooooooooo, the big news this week is from E3. Absolutely phenomenal stuff going on there. One game in particular that rendered me speechless was "No Man's Sky", watch the trailer here.
That incredibly vast game combined with the announcement that Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will now have "Playstation 4 exclusivity" rather than Xbox having it MADE MY DAY
😃
So recently I've been researching headsets and I think I'm pretty set on the Turtle Beach 500p set. It's not very expensive and it will work on both my laptop and phone while still featuring surround sound. I was considering much more expensive ones but I just couldn't justify spending that amount on a headset
😛
I'd love to know if any of you have experience with this headset or if you know of any others I should have a look at before I buy it!

The thing that interested me most from E3 was the development of the VR headsets. I'll probably be too old to make much use of them by the time they're finalised and working as they could, but immersive play in a full virtual world is getting closer and closer. I'm a bit jealous of all you youngsters who'll be able to fully take advantage of it.
They do look phenomenal. I was lucky enough to try the Occulus Rift one day. It simulated a roller coaster and I very nearly fell over. It's amazing stuff 😃
We older people will be able to take advantage of it. They plug it right into our heads and we don't even need working limbs. We will get the feeling of running or throwing or climbing etc, even if we are old arthritic farts
CoD is kind of a buzzkill. I was considering an XBOX One due to the backwards compatibility update.
The elite controller is also a big bonus tbh. It's basically a Scuf for $150!
CoD2 was the last CoD I recognise as a great game.
True CoD veteran 😛
CoD Unided Offensive iy my favourite.
im not a headset kind of guy. cables always cause you to make your neck stiff. inner ear stuff usually is to big for my ears and its sweaty after a while. in our temperatures the closed ones usually makes your ears too warm in summer. had a few though non really stuck.
These ones are wireless so at least there won't be cables 😛 just a bit of audio lag but hopefully not too bad!
Leather ear cuffs are just awful. They're wayyyyy too warm 🙁
I only put the headset on when I am using something like Ventrilo in a co-op game, other than that it is speakers for me. This is for reasons as stated by RTK - cables in the way and sweaty ears
no mans sky seems though to be a recipe for bugs i would not purchase it right off. for example they say based on formulas when you visit a certain place the game will generate a mountain and the game will also generate that mountain but its not stored but you can go back and game willl again create the mountain and trees etc. i truly wonder about that claims or that you would not be overwhelmed with map vs gameplay.
I didn't really like the look of the gameplay, I was just in awe of the size xD thanks for the tip though! I'll wait a bit to buy it 😃
you can check that out in how does no mans sky work
I am a PC rather than console gamer. I currently have a Turtle Beach Earforce PX22 headset. The Mic quality is great, but I sometimes have issues with the headphones at low volume. The sound just cuts out so nothing comes through, or for a split second it does and then nothing for 5 seconds, rinse and repeat. When the headphones are working the surround sound is great. You can pinpoint where shots are fired from front, back, left, right, above or below, or where the enemy tank is that is trying to flank you.
No one can make me have a stupid device I can't play strategy games
