Democracy in eNL, held hostage by bureaucrats
The democracy e-NL is held hostage by a bunch of bureaucrats...., that say they acted on the behalve of e-NL.
The proposal to ractify the Asgard treaty was rejected.
Even though a day earlier a private poll/referendum was held where 80% of the dutch citizens that voted, said yes to Asgard.
Due to technichcal BS, voting thresholds , and more "legal" issues......they found a way to reject it...
Its just to ridiculous for words.
It is better to keep a nation struggling and devided , keep living in the past and hold grudges.
Than try to forget the past and what happened , to see eye to eye for once and do whats best for the country.
But No ...... personal powertrips are more important than the progress and well being of the Netherlands.
To ALL of the people involved and ran this proposal (that was supported by a large part of the community)into the ground.
Thank you very much for all your efforts that you made for the intrests of e-NL, you did a great job.

Sad story when such things happen, but delay is not the same as rejection.
i know its not the same , it's a matter of time .....frustration is the same though...
I can understand that 🙂
long live slow bureaucracy!!
Democracy, how barbaric : )
It is important to abide by the laws. However, at the same time laws should be sensible and adjusted in terms of minor details.
What happened is this: eNL doesn't have a Congress, therefore the old Congress still votes online. They couldn't get a quorum within 36 hours.
However, let's remembers it is an extended holiday, and the middle of exam season for many RL students. So many people are not logging in for a couple days.
I pray for you..
Strength and Honour
It's difficult to talk about democracy in this game, all is based on votes.
yup , true ......but when the votes are made and than some technocratic BS comes arround and all is rejected...... thats silly .....
You've seen the poll that was held by vSpijck.... majority of the voters went with asgard.
Than someone comes arround and lets us know its not valid coz the threshold wasn't made.
The magic nr was 203 , coz supposebly e-NL has 500+ active citizens, and as everyone know thats BS.
Whe're flooded with multies......got some accounts 3 y.o , no scores , no SSor HW medals.....
And that to say that they are active is a joke....
When that argument wouldn't hold up , the reason that we don't have congress came up.....
They're still messing arround with it , in the long run it will be done anyways .......but IMO its a bit to much.......
The law say's .....arguments.......and thats rediculous to me, keeping in mind that it still is a game and not RL
But thats my personal opinion
i prefer poll because you can make a verification of identity.
In the political system, you can find some multies to make a wrong vote in elections : ) Nice article indeed
as you can see , not everyone agrees on that ....
if we would pass a proposal with less then 40% of congress voting that would be undemocratic.
but if you want to blame someone don't blame the people that are doing there jobs but blame the people that are not.
yup ur totally right
Ordo ab chao
Good luck, hope NL gets run by the right people o7
use polder model it always works in NL 🙂
not this time i'm afraid.......
"the burocracy is expending, to meet the needs of the expending burocracy" XD
Bureaucracy is there for a reason. They are simple rules everyone abides by. If you look at the political climate, there is a lot of... hostility (for a lack of a better word). This is only natural, because everyone has their own opinions on how to handle political cases.
Now. What would happen if the rules were to be broken? You may have guessed correctly, if you guessed that the remaining 20% that voted for anything other than Asgard will have grounds to complain. Valid grounds, nonetheless, because the rules that were clear to everyone have been broken.
Then, what do you have to do to circumvent this problem of "bureaucracy"? Simple. Look at the root of the problem. The root of this particular problem is not the law itself, but what triggered the law. Too few votes. Look up who your representatives in congress are, and tell them to vote.
Unfortunately we're not in an ideal position, so I dare not blame anyone for what transgressed. Our congress is non-existant, and those still in their congressional seats may have gotten more than they bargained for.
Nonetheless, do not blame the laws made to protect democracy. They are not at fault.
We are in the process of getting into Asgard. More to come.
The only reason the vote wasn't accepted is because there weren't enough congress-members voting; So it's more a lack of activity then a wish for delaying.
