CertaCito - UKRP Candidate for Northern Ireland - September 2009

Day 667, 02:51 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by certacito

It is once again approaching Congressional election time once again, when citizens of eUK will be offered the opportunity to stand for election to the House of Commons. Election to fill one of these posts is not something that is to be taken lightly, it is the Commons that controls the legislation that governs how the Country is run; this includes making important decisions such as deciding whether or not to go to war, whether to impeach the President setting taxes and donating funds from the National Treasury.

Serving in the House of Commons is a role that I have a certain amount of experience with, having completed a total of 19 terms of office (an Erepublik record) by the time of the elections. I am now standing for my 20th successive term of office in the Government, where I hope to continue to build the growing online community of eUK.

This month has seen some changes, most notably;

- The rapid increase in the use of IRC as a real time communication medium for members of the eUK and Global Erepublik Community

- Heavy handed crackdowns by the Erepublik Admins that have seen a number of our most active and well known individuals permanently barred under accusations of running multiple accounts

- The continuation of the PEACE vs EDEN conflict, with the eUSA and eCanada achieving limited success in reclaiming some of their territories back from PEACE

On a personal note, I have now been promoted to take over as CO of the Royal Guard; a role that I feel reasonably well qualified for as I am the only 'Home Grown' Field Marshall in the organization!

This month I have been a little disappointed with our lack of ability to engineer a political scenario whereby we can fully engage the Royal Guard (ad the rest of the eUK population) in full combat - but we have still een able to reap the benefits of the regular PEACE organized Training Wars in Lithuania, which have offered many of our junior and less well equipped individuals a chance to try out combat (and reap the health/experience points benefits) without having to risk exposure in 'real' combat.

This coming month I will continue to focus on mproving he infrastructure that eUK possesses, both in military and commercial sectors. I intend to work closely with members of the Cabinet to efficiently deploy and manage organizations that will provide jobs for citizens, manufacture weapons and other goods for the population and generate tax revenue to support further Government operations.

I am also very keen to assist, coach and pass on knowledge (to the best of my ability) to younger and newer members of our community who would like to play a role in eUK politics. Please message me directly if you are interested in taking on such a role.

Lastly, can I humbly request your vote in the oncoming Congressional elections; whther or not you are a member of a Political Party, I urge you to vote (as voting earns you experience points).

If you wish to see a 'safe pair of hands' who is guaranteed not to run off with the Government funds, go into self-destruct mode or just simply disappear, then please vote for CertaCito - member of Parliament for Northern Ireland (for life!)

Many thanks
