[UKRP/UKPP/ESO/PCP/WKUBP] July Manifesto
Sir Humphrey Appleby
If you'd like some background music... (Redbone - Come And Get Your Love) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nkr77jE5GFY
Afternoon lads o7,
An obligatory cheers to ESO, UKPP, PCP, WBUKP & UKRP for pledging their banners to the cause - your proposed government and I have been discussing the best course of action to take and we’ve few ideas we’d like your thoughts on.
Have added tl;dr versions for those in a rush
😉.
I will release Cabinet either tomorrow evening or Wednesday morning. For now I can confirm Voodoo will stay on as Deputy CP, Huey as MoF and Jimmy as MoFA. If you’d like to join us it’s not too late to ask for a spot.
Foreign Affairs
Arguably the most important department this month, global policy still hasn’t recovered from the alliance events of several months ago. This is made all the more perplexing with the recent resource changes and its ongoing effects on our national productivity and tax income. Luckily we’re not perma-wiped nor in immediate threat of such, but as Spain has demonstrated this can change overnight if we play our cards poorly.
Thus we will arrange individual informal meetings with our allies and neighbours for background research on interests and potential movements almost immediately. Happily I know a lot of our likely neighbour CPs so this shouldn’t take too long.
We will need to resolve the question of our alliance – Parliament has largely dodged the issue for as long as gov has let them however we will need to decide soon whether we want to try and genuinely rebuild it or consider the more pragmatic option of seeking strong alternatives. This does not necessary mean a different alliance altogether, but we will need to do more research before anything is put forward.
A small way you may be able to help with this is through ambassadorships. The eUK used to send people abroad to act as eyes and ears on the ground and give us any heads up on interesting developments. I enjoyed my time as representative to the eUSA as we helped Hungary land bridge through Scotland to lead the PEACE invasion of them, and strongly recommend anyone who’s interested in future work as a foreign minister to give it a try and choose a country
🙂.
Tl;dr
-quick meetings with neighbours and allies to get an updated idea of current interests and background research
-discussions with parliament about way forward with alliances & potential NAPs
-start re-issuing ambassadors and encouraging foreign powers to reopen embassies
Financial Affairs
We desperately need more information about the effects of international productivity, pollution, mitigating effects of imports and other areas of tax recalibration. For the moment we are operating on common sense and a big financial stick to wave about, which probably isn’t enough in the long run. What investors, taxpayers and company owners usually prefer is stability, but more importantly, familiarity with the system.
To quote cabinet “we will need to try and reassure managers that we have some sort of idea approaching sanity on how to deal with the bloody thing”.
Chiefly we want to try and keep people in the eUK and avoid the situation where our taxes are mostly going abroad to already wealthy and potentially hostile nations. This may include measures such as a slight shift in economic policy towards protectionism and the raising of import tax on areas such as weapons and food.
Again we are mostly blind to these new changes, Huey suggesting it would take a minimum of a week until we have enough data to properly analyse and work out our next step. We will be particularly interested in those that have moved their companies abroad and the altering figures on tax distribution and productivity so drop the Bank a message if you’re abroad.
Tl;dr
-a week’s minimum ‘listening’ period for research before:-
--tax recalibrations on imports and potentially VAT
--foreign taxes & productivity database project
Defence Affairs
An occasional problem with Defence is the publicity of orders and indeed the public’s general disposition to following them. An old policy that normally solved this and also gave a few handy supplies to soldiers on the front was the ‘Call to Arms’ program - simply ‘signing in’ with your vote number on the MoD orders article released every 2 days & shouting it ingame would get a 4 Q7s supply to help you in (hopefully the correct) battle.
Naturally this means we will need a decent MoD rota to keep people fighting where we need them. I’d like to see MUs play a bit part in co-ordination but can understand if they have enough work on their hands as it is. I’m sure people who love to see more information articles on how to build up your account and when and where it’s right to fight too. Those that’ve stuck around may be eligible for a few grants to help with training grounds and contracts.
We also need to work out what to do with the NMU. Jimmy has offered to help Paul T in command so we’ll wait and see what he does first
😛.
Tl;dr
-bring back ‘call to arms’ general supply for MoD orders
-clearer MoD rota and information articles
-training grounds contracts and grants
-watch the NMU with interest
Home Affairs
I think I was a bit miserly when initially only budgeting £10k for the MoHA but we can always throw more their way upon receipt of a ‘good idea’. Woldy has the keys to the eUK steam group which we may play about with and I’d like to see more of the eUK embracing it’s obvious gaming connection (let me know if you play Dota!).
I was feeling particularly lazy and I thought we could have a ‘most creative way to waste 10k’ competition…
Tl;dr
-random £10k budget
-fun expected at some point over the month
-gaming community plays games, innit
Join me in a celebratory scotch for making it to the end
😃
Cheers!
Appleby

Apples4CP!
THE RANDOM 10k IS MINE
woo! Apples! Apples! Apples!
So much waffle.I read nothing new I see nothing new
until you can be asked to present an alternative - put up or shut up!
No sorry that is not how democracy works old bean, I wont shut and I don't have to 🙂 I just let everyone know you talk waffle
but if you're not prepared to put your endless criticism into action it's completely meaningless both democratically and productively
sure we expect your usual whining but ultimately it means sod all in gov policy
Same sh*t, different profile pic.
Until Harry comes up with something intelligent/constructive/useful and is brave enough to put it to the test in a vote, the rest of us continue to take his opposition as a sign that we're doing something right. He's pretty much completely irrelevant.
to take his opposition as a sign that we're doing something right. LMAO
Really the country has lost over 1.2 millions a year due to resource wars failures you can even run a free online browser game right
it just shows many of this accounts are 2nd accounts and you don't have a brain between the lot of you
It's hilarious
More funny than a carry on film
Childish complaints.
No plans.
Not willing to say anything before stuff happens, only bitch about them afterwards.
Not willing to stand for election and risk failing.
Not contributing anything useful.
Hypocrisy.
Irrelevant.
On the battlefield you are Irrelevant 8 BHS , 4 a year , you remind me of FAP 🙂
I bet he wishes he was you Harry, 187 BH's in 4 years is some next level, super hero style gameplay right there.
After your Vendetta-based political ambitions died on their arse, you now treat this as a war game. Which is silly.
Instead of giving hundreds of pounds to Plato to repeatedly press a single "fight" button that most of us press for free (and then measure your success in BHs), may I suggest some better and cheaper ways of playing war? Give them a try, you might like them...

Shit manifesto.
An excellent manifesto which reflects the experience and administrative skills honed over time.
Voted *and* endorsed!
Sir Humphrey ?
Is it really worth bothering anymore?
Well - *I* am still bothering - after some 3000+ days...
In this place the real killer is apathy
a big challenge for all ministries bigger than one geezer I think is activity, month after month I've witnessed the energy and activity drain from the MoHA, and I'm beginning to see it seep into other ministries. What we really need to do is find the new blood and groups of players who can really keep up the energy and the pace of these ministries so perhaps we need to reach out to the public more when recruiting Civ Servs
mentioned my party. voted.
