The Paradox of eCanadian Politics

These past few days have been very interesting to watch for anyone observing the eCanadian political scene. Starting on the 23rd when a push was made to move Jacobi's Forward Canada into the top five and unseat the Sons of Anarchy (Norsefire) party, eCanada is once again in a frenzy.

The Sons of Anarchy, after managing to recruit (bribe) their way into safety, scored two victories, leaving Forward Canada in 6th, and managing to get the PP of the UPC, Lord Beorn, banned for multis. Fast forward two days and the SOA managed to capture 20% of the vote for congress and 8 seats, the second highest allotment besides the CPF.

This is incredibly impressive since before the 23rd you could easily make the case that Norsefire was on the way out the door, with very poor public opinion and just barely a top five position, Rolo and his ilk were slowly drifting away, but the scheme to dramatically topple Norsefire once and for all ended in absolute disaster. Now the Sons of Anarchy party is close to overtaking Clan Wolf as the second largest party in eCanada and they hold a significant chunk of Congress. Even though Muglack might have said differently eleven days ago, I don't doubt that the Coalition, however unofficial it may be, will be back.

And now to rock the boat even more, ElPatoDiablo formally announced the creation of the new "Imperial Party of Canada". Now normally the founding of another party wouldn't be a big deal, but in his maiden article, ElPato succeeded in offending all three of the democratic anti-coalition bloc parties pretty badly.

ElPato now seems to want to run for another term in December, and Jacobi has announced he will challenge him if no other credible candidate emerges from the CPF. This still leaves out the Coalition, Clan Wolf and UPC. In a race that is split between three or more candidates, you can't help but think that the Coalition may be able to pull through a victory.

Ah, but we will all have to see and wait for what comes next!
