Sharing knowledge for the future
Gueneo
Greetings Australia!
Today I want to turn our gaze to the future.
One aspect that I find important in this game is knowledge sharing. We should all pass our knowledge on to those who follow. This can only give to the country a more conscious future. The time spent in the game is a small portion of the time that we have in our whole life - we must do our best to ensure that those who will follow us will have a similar (or better) gaming experience to what our predecessors have made possible for ourselves.
Share what? And why?
The roles that help us solve the national issues are somehow identified in the ministries. But how today are new players to fill these positions? The absence of this transfer of information/training in a country that does not have many active players, can lead to devastating results.
I tried to think of some possible solutions and I want to share it below. I would however also like to know your opinion on this subject.
I think a solution might take several different forms:
[*] Inclusion of young and active peoples in the activities of the ministries;
[*] To publish a series of interviews with ministers and ex-ministers;
[*] Push the top 5 political parties to take action in this effort.
I don't think there is a real emergency, but certainly some system like this could lead to results that point to a continuous improvement in the value of our nation (also a better perception of us from abroad). It would definitely help us avoid some mistakes, maybe already committed in the past, in future situations.
Australia we serve!

To be able to serve the e-country, you almost need an apprenticeship setup. The new recruit shadows the crusty old player for a few weeks or a month. Then the new player takes the lead, with the old sea dog a background mentor.
It's sort of happening, at least with FA. JackTrout setup the MoFA academy to shake the tree and see if any capable monkeys fall out. I'm happy to work with anyone at the MoE who'd like to learn more about teaching, mentoring and article writing. The DoD and leadership/CP seem to be where we fall down.
What do people think about automatic inclusion of the most recent CP into any cabinet as an advisor?
A simple no, if you have a spastic as a CP one month do you want them back the following?
It is up to the current CP to define who they work with in their own cabinet. You cannot write a law to include a person that others do not want to work with, nothing would get achieved.
I wasn't meaning a requirement... You can't make anyone do anything in this game. 😕
More a social expectation that a capable (or not incompetent, at any rate) CP will be asked to advise cabinet is what I was getting at.
Ok, does this not happen now?
If the out-going CP and in-coming CP do not clash don't they offer the old one a position of some sort. The same as if we have two good running CP's doesn't one offer the other to be in their cabinet as dCP or other position.
It comes down to the old CP whether they choose a position or not. Sure this has already been happening, hence why I said no about automatic inclusion
Not that I was aware of. But what I've seen in my time in-game is probably not best classified as "business as usual".
