In the Bosom of a New Mother

Day 1,807, 11:38 Published in India Canada by Alias Vision

For a long time I thought I would be just a one country kind of guy. I'd see all these various personalities come and go and I'd snicker to myself thinking that if you traveled everywhere then you belonged nowhere.

I didn't get it.

I didn't understand that especially in the context of our New World, that there really was only one home that counted. That place is where your friends and allies are. So when United Aggression started talking about changing countries, this time I got it and I was on board.

India would be my third home after the US and Canada. I enjoyed my time with my American brothers but it is too easy to get lost in the wake of their bigger personalities and insecurities. I wasn't ready to return to my first love in Canada and many of you can probably guess why by the interventions of some of their citizens even in the Indian media.

This country came highly recommended to us and was described as friendly and open. It was a surprise to many of us to see the level of suspicion our applications raised, even in some cases downright hostility. We were a little naive. I have been part of Congress when outside groups approach to gain citizenship. I should have remembered back then what we felt and what we thought. Like I said in a comment, which was labelled as propaganda, it didn't really matter how we approached this, the language we would use would be identical to a group of PTOers with malicious intent. Diffuse the criticism, strike once you are in.

Let me publicly state... and you can throw it back in my face later if I'm proven false... I'm not here as a PTOer. I'm not here as an agent for some other interest group. The only interests I hold with are those of my new home, India, and my brothers and sisters in UA.

One look at my profile and you'll see I've been interested in all aspects of the game. I'm not any kind of superstar, far from it, all those medals just means I've been around a heck of a long time. As a matter of fact, my 4th birthday is coming up in just over a month's time.

I will participate in the media, time permitting. I will eventually want to participate in the political side as well because that is the best way to fully integrate. With time though, there is no rush and I'll take my cue from you gentle reader.

Thank you President Hamturk for the support and for shepherding the referendum that allowed me to be accepted. Thank you Indian Congress and People. You have made your move, now it is up to us to respond in kind.
