USWP - The Party of America
Pfeiffer.
Recently you may have seen an article in the White House Press Report entitled Top 5 Parties in Review.
The content of said article was a series of copy and paste jobs from messages the editor, George Armstrong Custer sent to party leaders. In the message, he asked a number of questions, which when broken down into list form are:
What makes USWP different?
What about our platform, ideals, and programs?
Assuming your lineup is not set yet, what, in general, makes your lineup the one to vote for?
What are your Congressmen known for doing in office?
This message went out some time shortly before dinner. Later that evening we got a second message where he specifically asks Gnilraps to answer as he is the only one who shows as online at the time. That's fine, but it strikes me as odd that he is so impatient when he has outright ignored messages for days before replying (occasionally failing to do so at all).
As requested, Gnilraps replies. The next morning, SColbert also replies. It was SColbert's answer which Custer used. That's fine, that's his prerogative as he is the one 'writing' the article. HOWEVER, he does say that they are published "In order of their responses to my letter." Since he chose not to publish what Gnilraps wrote, that bit is patently false.
Colbert's answer is fine, and not in any way incorrect, but Gnilraps' answer was 'better'. Obviously that is in quotes as better is subjective, but this is my paper so deal with it. However, I believe it fair to say that Gnilraps was objectively more detailed and complete in his response. That is why I'm publishing those answers today. I feel it important that people understand why, despite the head butting which comes with being home to the most influential and driven leaders in the country, our best and brightest cannot help but be drawn to USWP. I will offer my own commentary on his answers in parenthetical italics.
Q - What makes USWP different?
USWP is different in that we are not interested in adding new members simply to increase our numbers. Our party is more concerned with quality than quantity. This has always been true about USWP.
(This has been true of USWP as long as Gnilraps has been active. There was a time in early 2009 when growth was priority #1 for the leadership, but what is also true is that the leadership then was one of the best in American history. Maybe the best, as you had everyone from Ananais to scrabman to HR to Inwegen to Cerb active all at the same time. This is unquestionably true now.)
Q - What about our platform, ideals, and programs?
USWP does not have a formal platform. However, our membership is generally committed to whatever policy and program will take greatest advantage of game mechanics. For a very long time, the USWP has been the party which has consistently endorsed policies and platforms that make the wisest use of game mechanics. And as far as I am concerned, game mechanics are the equivalent of "god" in whatever game you are playing.
(I completely agree with this statement.)
Q - Assuming your lineup is not set yet, what, in general, makes your lineup the one to vote for?
I think that eUSA can completely trust Wild Owl to select the best possible candidates for Congress. In this game Congress has, in many ways, more power than the Country President! So this is an important question! Wild Owl is and has been the most plugged-in citizen in eUSA for about 3 years. If you cannot trust the candidate list he sets forth, then you probably shouldn't be an eAmerican!
(Here we see Gnilraps the politician. Good stuff. I will say that there is one placement I was confused by on our current slate, but overall we present the best offerings each and every month. That has not changed this month.)
Q - What are your Congressmen known for doing in office?
These records are available for any citizen to investigate. Simply log on to the eUSA Forums and scan the archives. However, since not everyone is so inclined, I will present this review: USWP Congressmen have been at the forefront of every major legislation since 2010.
Most recently, USWP congressmen have been responsible for the current:
tax law,
dictatorship law,
budget,
foreign policy agenda,
economic strategy,
blacklist doctrine,
and every other major policy.
In short, USWP is the voice of wisdom guiding eUSA for at least 4 years.
(Again, factually correct. The impact the USWP has had on American gameplay, mechanical and meta, cannot be factually refuted. The core systems in place, the President's Daily Briefings, White House Press Office, Congressional Speakership, SCI, etc. etc. are all in place because USWP members put them there. Even when I was a member of the opposition, I had the utmost respect for the gameplay displayed by USWP leaders. scrabman was and is one of my favorite players, and I could write a novella just on his impact to the country, let alone those of his peers.)
There will be those who call this propaganda, and it is.
There will be those who call this Pfeiffer ego stroking, and it is (to an extent).
There will be those who dismiss this article in it's entirety simply because I wrote it, or because it's 'elitist' or pro-USWP. Those people are wrong. Do not be one of those people.
I hope that you will be one of the people who recognize this for what it is.
A love letter to America.
If you are not a USWP member, I hope that you will recognize the truth in these words.
I have not, and will not, deny the positive impact made by those players and parties with whom I have been (and will be) at odds. Many of them are my friends, and just as important to my enjoyment of this game I've played for nearly nine years as my political allies. I may ignore it for political purposes, but to dismiss or deny it would be disingenuous and leave me open to a critique of my facts...and those who know me know that (if nothing else) I loathe being factually incorrect.
And so I present to America, your party.
The United States Workers Party is the Party of America. For America. That is why it exists. That is why I, and so many others, continue to invest in her and her members.
The USWP built much of the USA you see or have seen, and most of the parts which led to our many successes over these years. The USWP will continue to work for America. There is no greater driving force behind the success of this country than dedicated and faithful citizens who understand that it takes a single minded dedication to smart cooperative gameplay to 'win'.
So let's win.
As always, I remain
Yours,
~Pfeiffer

USWP is also currently just 3 votes away from taking Major Trite to congress, so behold!
We are truly inclusive.
Khotko and Major Trite take congress by storm!
It's quite easy to storm it from 4-th spot ike me, but try it from the 14-th!
If there is ever a reason not to be in congress. Well I am definitly in so it will be interesting serving with my arch nemesis
Which arch nemesis? I thought you had 4. Ilene, MT, Data from Star Trek and who is the 4th again?
Considering Data from Star Trek has been mentioned you should keep in mind the following, Hadrian

I have not always agreed with USWP or Pfeiffer on everything, but I have found them and him to be reliable partners in furthering the well being of the eUSA. It has been a pleasure and a privilege to work with them on the various issues we have found common ground.
Listen to the man. A guy this well liked by everyone has to be correct. Sup Tyler? o/
I find our parties to be similar in many ways which makes working with them easy. Fed-USWP has owned congress for many months now. Love it.
Hell, when I came back from being e-dead, I joined up with USWP for a few months before returning to the Feds. Great party to be in.
TL😉R
Put some effort into some pictures ....
😛
I also agree with this. Don't be so lazy with the pics Pfeiffer. Jeez.
FIST
USWP is a great party, I was a member for many years. I only left to hang out with tbe dinosaurs in the old farts party.
Come on home, Jason. 😃
We have Hadrian.
Yeah I think that old bastadnhad some influence on me going there in the first place. It was so long ago my old memory fails me.
Yes I'm there too JTG. Hopefully that's more of a good thing than a bad one. xD
USWP is pretty cool. 10/10 would party with those nigs.
Tenshibo says USWP is p cool. Join the party! Sup 10? o/
If you can't vote for AMP, a vote not wasted should go for USWP, that has supported our congressmen several times.
Thanks Y. Stay classy! 🙂
I've given you a vote.
HEY SVV, sup dude?! o/
Staying busy in classic Afghanistan and working around 77+ hours a week.
How're you doing bro?
P good. Kid just turned 3. Normal stuff. Stay safe out there brotha!
USWP was, is, will be only house of true brave thinking people!
like me
Really?
nah, just kidding, ima fake silly coward
you're okay
another of many direct attacks by Pfeiffer on myself.
sorry, bud, I'm not playing this game to please you.
the link to last Friday's WHPR article: www.erepublik.com/en/article/2606782/1/20
there, you'll find a screenshot of the exact letter I sent to all listed executives of all Top 5 Parties.
in that, I make it clear that I was not asking a specific list of questions, but suggesting an outline of topics the respondents might want to cover in their reply.
I also make it clear, mentioning this twice, that I was looking for four or five lines of text.
what I received from USWP was a long answer, quite suitable for a full article like this one but not a compact blurb which would become one of five blurbs in a segment.
I trimmed the long text and replied back, suggesting that I'd now illustrated the size of the reply I would be printing in the paper.
I got back a nicely edited "short version" which was perfect in size for my needs, and used it.
when and how I go about producing the WHPR is not Pfeiffer's business, so while I don't necessarily object to him not liking it I can only say it is my job and my business and I don't answer to him.
the initial inquiry was sent out at approximately 1500 hours. it was another five hours before I went a second round of letters to get responses from those who had not yet done so. at that time I did address Gnilraps, specifically, because he was the only one who was logged into the game. ultimately, the text that fit the WHPR's format and was used was sent by Colbert. if there's a problem with that text, Pfeiffer should be addressing that issue with him, not me.
this is but one of many times he has attempted to instruct me how to do my job in the past seven weeks. this time, however, he took it public, and so I am forced to respond.
campaign all you like, expound on the wonderfulness that is the USWP, but to launch your sales pitch with a personal attack is unnecessarily hostile.. but that's Pfeiffer.
I linked to your article, but thanks for the second link for those who missed it.
As to your wanting 4-5 lines, that's great. I get that substance is not what you were looking for, but had you simply left out the bit about the Congressional slate (since it was largely meaningless) and the list at the end, Gnilraps' answer wouldn't have been too cumbersome. Longer than the others, to be sure, but USWP has far more to tout than any other party.
I used what I was given, without regard to content, in every case-- straight copy/paste from my mail to the article editor. I left out nothing from SColbert's revised text.
as for substance, SColbert's submitted text is more substantive than others, and is very well crafted given the limitations I set.
you have nothing to complain about. this is nothing more than another of your baseless personal attacks on me. grow up and stop being a jerk, will ya?
The fact that our second best answer is better than the others did not escape my notice, thank you.
I happen to agree with custer.... that part was unnecessary... I admire your party (I don't think you have anything on the feds but hey, we can't all be perfect 😉) but you could have just written this article without the bit about custer and it would have been just fine.....
you are thick, aren't you?
it has nothing-- NOTHING-- to do with "better."
I would not use a five paragraph answer from the USWP while using five lines from the others. you, and nobody, is "better" enough to get more column space than anyone else.
you've done a service to your Party by publishing a "long form" full length article, here. yet you continue to do yourself, and by extension your Party, a greater disservice by utilizing a low tactic of attempting to make others small to make yourself appear larger.
you are not larger, Pfeiffer. you are not better.
o7
Hey, I used to be in this party 🙂
I remember that.
Something happened with S.Colbert if I remember right.
I see you got smarter as time passed by, thats pretty common luckily!
zzzzzzzz
I'm off to work in a few, so I'll leave you a quick reply for now.
You make the mistake of equating large bodies of work with good work. This is a common mistake I see with people who aren't really sure what they're doing.
Further, if you wish to claim credit for a few of these items (dictatorship law, tax law) you also own the consequences. I will happily argue that the dictatorship law has a direct hand in reducing political engagement, and is partially responsible for the decline in the quality of political discourse.
i disagree with your conclusion, and will gladly stack my (and our) body of work against yours.
Bodies of work take time to accumulate. You've had nearly 7 years (5ish in the eUS?). I've had 18 months, with 5 months in the eUS. Ask me what I've done in 2022 and we'll see if it compares.
You're welcome to disagree, it's your article after all. 🙂 An actual opinion or debate might be better than a toddler's "you're wrong" "no you're wrong" discussion.
Then find me on IRC or the forum, the comments section isn't for serious discourse.
lol
ID learnt everything she knows from me 😉
