The return of the USWP?

I saw an article yesterday that made me very happy. The United States Workers Party was my party for well over a year, until the party literally disappeared after merging with the AmericanProgressive Front a couple of months ago. This was sad not just for nostalgic reasons but game mechanics ones as well.
The USWP was the best party in the history of this country.
I know that comment might draw some criticism from the party's detractors, who often refer to the party as zombies. To be fair, there was a time early in the party's history when that was true. However, they conveniently forget the USWP evolved into a party that focused on putting the nation ahead of its own interests, developing quality citizens, and keeping a high activity level all while maintaining a large member base -- not an easy thing to do (see: the struggles of the AAP and APF).
It was the USWP that made the ultimate sacrifice. When America was being invaded, it was the USWP that told its members they could not run for Congress, forcing them all to help Canada avoid being Politically Taken Over and help our military PTO France. This happened while other parties sniped each other for seats.
The USWP was one of the first parties to screen its Congressional candidates. The USWP helped quality players get into the government, where they could help the entire country (I'm one of the products of this). The USWP led the way in working with all parties to avoid good candidates running against each other.
Just look at a list of prominent USWP members that were active in the party (I know I'm forgetting people):
Former Presidents:
scrabman
Harrison Richardson
Josh Frost
Cerb (Australia)
Vice Presidents:
Max McFarland 2
ligtreb
Cabinet members:
AidenAstrup
Colin Lantrip
Devan Kronos
Inwegen
James Strife
Jasper Ferguson
Jude Connors
LexLuthor1
Speakers of the House:
Ananias
Fionia
Killing Time
ProggyPop
Other prominent members (Congress, military, media moguls):
Abayarde
Dania
DisDick
Dodgercatcher
GoBucks
Hadrian X
Ian John Locke IV
Lord Pariah
Panther
Quanah Parker
rui lin
Speedcat McNasty
SweetBags
tdwester
Zcia
That's not a bad list. The USWP was #1 in the nation in total members, and used it for the good of the country and its party. It wasn't until after the war when the AAP got big (due to Mercurius100's amazing messaging and friending skills) that the USWP was dethroned, but the USWP stayed relevant until a few months ago. #uswpchat was for a long-time the best party IRC room. The old USWP forums were far more active than any other party's forums.
Those of you looking at my profile might be wondering, "Why did Ligtreb join the Federalists?" I joined the Feds because they are the party that reminds me the most of the USWP during its glory days. They're active, but have their priorities straight, like the USWP did. For those of you who are new and want to know how good the USWP was, the Federalists are the best modern-day representation, only the USWP did it with the most members too, and for several months in a row.
We need more parties like the old USWP. Hopefully the USWP returns and can take its rightful place in America.
While the partisan bickering of the pre-invasion era hurt our country, there is room for partisanship in this game. It's a must given the game mechanics of needing five parties to help keep active members and get good people elected.
The USWP knows full well the responsibilities of being a major power. Here's to the return of the USWP, for the good of America.
Update: Fionia has provided a handy form to fill out if you're interested in helping.

USWP <3
Bring out'cha dead
The USWP was NOT a great party. It was a party of Zombie Voters (not Zombies mind you, they did screen out inactive/bots from running for congress but they didnt mind if those same inactives/bots were used to vote for USWP Candidates) who elected some decent candidates and some rather piss poor ones.
I remember their 52 sweep plan where they actively planned to hold a super majority in Congress and ram through their bills and actively oppose anyone elses ideas/votes unless it was run through them first.
They took Party Politics to a professional level. Actively blocking parties they did not like or agree with by pushing votes in favor of lesser/inferior congressional candidates just to spite the other parties.
Hell, I left the eUS because I was disgusted with the way the USWP did business. They were good at keeping their own in power, didnt play well with others and when they died, I actually celebrated.
Let the dead stay dead. The eUS is better off with out that kind of political party and the dirty deeds it brought.
@Relorian -- Where do I start?
The 52 State plan was not a plan to win all 52 states. It was a plan to run a qualified candidate everywhere, to make sure no inactives were running.
I was in Congress for a long time -- what bills did the USWP ram through or prevent? Can you point me to one?
Zombie power!!!!
I stand ready to troll the USWP:

Good times USWP good times
LOL @ Gaius
Good times indeed.
@ Relorian
It was very much a zombie party. But, every nation has zombie parties. Let's not forget that smaller parties can be reactionary zombie parties; voting against the top party whenever they can as a matter of principle.

Just saying.
"The 52 State plan was not a plan to win all 52 states. It was a plan to run a qualified candidate everywhere, to make sure no inactives were running."
lol? If I remember correctly that was definitely a plan to control all states for the sake of control. Then again, it's not really a concern right now - it's ancient history from the time when people though Scrabman was cool. The nation has since become intelligent.
USWP is inferior. It was wiped by SEES. SEES is superior. Survival of the fittest. THE END.
@Relorian: you left out the party where the USWP gave up 26 Congressional seats to help in the attempt to PTO a PEACE enemy. You have the right to your opinion but not your own facts.
@The New USWP: My first go around in this game was from March 2009 until October of the same year and their will just never be another party like that I am sorry to say. I am not trying to be a jerk but most of your leadership seems to be from the era that the party died.
@Lex: the party was strong until the day it died. The leadership is what kept it strong.
Jude for USWP Prez!
Good luck restablishing a great party!
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!
Why do people always think that party's vote as blocs in Congress? This is (for the most part) not true.
Do they tend to vote along party lines for the Speaker of the House nominations? yes.
Do they tend to vote along party lines for huge debates like, hospitals, or whether or not to freeze the military's budget? most likely, yes.
But, for the day to day votes of which a congressmen approves or votes in at least 2, if not more times a day, party ties are left behind, to be replaced by close friends and people they recognize as being smart.
Parties are like clans, they help each other out when needed (elections/major votes), but, most of the time it's every man/woman/child for themself.
😑; USWP's objectives have flip flopped politically so many times no one even knows what they really stand for anymore. I mean, hell, when did they ever have one clear-cut objective that actually panned out exactly the way they said it was going to? lol
We shall return!
Good Luck! WSWP was a Wonderful party! Voted.
This should be interesting. 😁
>The USWP was one of the first parties to screen its Congressional candidates.
Actually, I did public screening for congressmen both in beta and when I was PP in December 2008. http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/cong[..]42/1">http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/cong[..]42/1
fyi
>I was in Congress for a long time -- what bills did the USWP ram through or prevent? Can you point me to one?
Impeaching Sam to get scrabman into the seat, for one.
>@Relorian: you left out the party where the USWP gave up 26 Congressional seats to help in the attempt to PTO a PEACE enemy. You have the right to your opinion but not your own facts.
SEES drops races every month to use our voters for other voting purposes. I don't know what the big deal is.
The USWP was an average party in a country that didn't care about party politics enough to fight amoungst themselves when they came around. USWP created partisanship, and that's why they drew the fire that they did. Since then, partisanship has become the norm in the country, and I, someone who used to disdain parties and partisanship, have decided to try to use the shitball they created as a force for good for once. Wish me luck.
I'm in.
