* Group name: eCzech Political Debates
* Group home page: http://groups.google.com/group/eczech-political-debates
is where everyone who wants to view the debate must sign up, and where the debaters will be expressing their ideas. The rules have been given to each debater as well as the moderator Red Duck. The questions have been supplied to Red Duck only to be opened during the debate. Question 1 will be supplied to both candidates at the same time the day before the debate.
All reporters will have to sign a special clause if they wish to report on the debates, and if so they must PM Xavier Havel.
24 hours after the debates/articles there will be another poll to see how the candidates are standing.
Comments
Sorry, but it´s too late for me. At Czech Republic mean this time something about 3 a.m... .
Well done for getting this arranged.
My questions have already been submitted.
The debate should be timed to allow both candidates to attend.
FK
In which language will be debate run ?
I think English. Ivan can´t speak Czech, he was born in Pakistan... .
Radim: and...?
FK: Nothing. If Ivan born at Pakistan and never live at Czech Republic, he can´t speak Czech.
And what about native Czech that never been in England ??? 😃
English is universal world language... .
Both candidates have to agree to a time but it must be march 3rd. The moderator must also be present but if he can not be, then someone must take his place, even if it is a nonpartisan moderator because the questions are unbiased
What exactly is this website? It looks like its little more than just a thread in a forum. Why don't we just use the Czech forums to host this?
I will be not there.
Because the Czech forums are very slow, and this is a google group where all can view everything rather quickly. If Red Duck can not make this time, then I will have to be the moderator of this debate. I am sorry Radim that although outside of the debate I support Ivan Hat, I know how to be non-partisan in the debate. The questions are unbiased and I can not say anything that will sway your answering of the question.
Kudos for the idea and for implementing it, but I am afraid that the time zones will cause havoc to a real time debate. I think that Ivan lives in North America, so there is at least 6 hours time difference between the candidates, which might be a big problem on workdays..
And yeah, 18:00 Erep time is the middle of night here in Europe.
XH: What are you say about 12:00 erepublik time... .
That is 3 o clock here just when schools/college classes end. How about 16:00 its 1 am where you live yes, but we have to think of times accessible for both candidates. I am fine with staying up til 2 am my time, 23:00 erepublik but until 16:00 i will not be available.
16:00 is for us 1:00 a.m. I also at week sleep. I propose 13:00 erepublik time... .
How about we split the debate into two rounds. One round of 3 questions will be at 13:00 and moderated by Red Duck. The second round of 3 questions will be at 16:00 and I will moderate that. It's fair for both sides because Ivan Hat will have to rush to a computer and could miss it, and because you will be staying up late.
It´s a little problem. Because me and Ivan Hat will have another question. Maybe it will be better, if you send your questions to both candidates and they will send their answers back... .
Idea: both candidates post their platform in the media and anyone who wants can ask questions of them. I think in this situation the easiest solution is the best one.
But then they can not rebut each other. I agree with Radim here about the questions, then if they want they can also post their platforms as well.
So question 1 has been given to both candidates already, so Radim answer it, then I will send that to Ivan Hat and he will answer the question and rebut you.
Ok...
BTW: I didn´t post answer to question number one, it´s some mystake... .
Hey what's going on in here?
