19 October 2010, Day 1,064 of the New World. Israel has been challenged this month. We faced a serious brain-drain, and many of our Knesset members resigned. We lost our legislative process entirely, but picked up a new forum. We were targeted by at least one political takeover, but now have five active parties. Our economy was shattered, but now we demonstrate recovery. Our military stagnated, but now we contribute to the campaigns against Turkey and Russia. Israel, you are a land with potential. We have another opportunity to fulfill that potential as the Knesset elections approach.

The Elections

On 25 October, Day 1,070, we will have another chance to elect our representatives. This is an opportunity to correct our inactivity and seriously advance Israel. Each party, of which there are now five, can propose up to seven candidates in each of the five regions. This means that the only way someone can be denied entry onto the ballot is if the party he is in has seven other candidates in the region to run. It is difficult to prevent someone from being elected in this country, even if he is banned. The best we can hope for is a group of qualified Knesset members winning enough seats to reestablish the legislative branch of the country. The preliminary details of a plan were laid out last week.

Knesset Restoration Plan

This plan, which arose from discussions between Israel’s Party Presidents, seeks to identify the serious candidates who put their names forward. It will publish a list of citizens who have fulfilled some very simple requirements to represent Israel.

The basic requirements to get on the ballot are necessary. Each candidate must

1. Be an Israeli citizen
2. Be chosen by one of the five parties to run for Congress

The other steps take some effort, but effort should be expected of anyone wishing to represent the citizens of his country.

3. He must be a registered member of the national forum.

Accomplishing this task is a simple matter of registering on the national forum.

4. Post a reply in this topic.

We expect our future Knesset members to be able to navigate a forum and post.

5. Pledge a portion of his treasure map gold from winning the election to Israel’s Finance Department.

A Knesset member should be working for the public good, not personal profit. We strongly encourage winners to donate their award to the IFD as winners in the past have done. If the treasure maps are worth an average of 5 gold, one election cycle can earn Israel up to 200 gold. With that, we could pay for both sides of an MPP ourselves, or we could sign alliances with two countries if both were willing to pay their halves. With that, we could upgrade two level 3 companies to level 4, or one level 4 company to level 5.

6. Pledge to participate in Knesset discussions on these forums before proposing laws and pledge to uphold Knesset procedure.

How to Apply

A simple message here saying, "I pledge to uphold these requirements" is sufficient to be included on this list. It does not matter if you pledge in English, Hebrew, German, Polish, or Russian. It does not matter what your political beliefs are. It does not matter what your religion is or what party you will run under.

As the election approaches, this paper will publish a list of all candidates who have fulfilled these requirements. We hope the citizens of Israel will do their part by voting for someone on the list.
