19 November 2010, Day 1,095 of the New World, Third Anniversary of the New World. It seems that the only thing I get to write about anymore is the political situation in Israel. This is regrettable, and I am sure it isn’t very interesting to my international subscribers. Nevertheless, it is necessary yet again.

For those unaware, the Minister of Finance this term was “Tom” 70mD II. I turned over the treasury organization, Israel’s Finance Department, to him as I moved from Minister of Finance to Vice President. Obviously he was a bad choice to take over the Finance Ministry. Most of our gold disappeared, along with our currency reserves, and to milk the stolen currency for even more gold it appeared on the money market at a very cheap price, devaluing the Shekel. Rather than paying my heating bill, I just burned a big pile of valueless Shekels.

All Israeli citizens should be upset by this. I have even more reason then most. Most of what I did last month was not widely publicized, but here are a few things. Under my term in Finance, I cut government expenditures, improved the value of the Shekel, and financed our MPP’s. If I had known all the gold I saved and earned for the country was just going to be stolen, I wouldn’t have tried so hard. What is even worse is that the English-speakers as a group are being blamed by the radicals because of the actions of one man. I am an English-speaker, and I made the Shekel stronger. Many others contribute to Israel in the military, media, and workplace, yet one person is sufficient bring blame on all of them.

With no gold in the coffers and the currency seriously devalued, Israeli was in a dire situation. I heard no English-speakers planning to move. Then we had a ray of hope when the treasury was inexplicably restored. That will make economic recovery and revaluing the Shekel much easier. I have taken control of the treasury. Already the value of the NIS has been partially repaired, and the government is selling currency at 0.015 G per NIS. I cannot promise that things will return to normal right away, but I am working.

Soon I hope to merge the two organizations or give them different missions, but right now most of the government’s gold is in eIsraeli Treasury while Israel’s Finance Department is back in the hands of its original owner.

There is no excuse. 70mD II was a terrible appointment, and the recovery of the gold does not alleviate any guilt. These things can only be prevented; there is little that can be done once the mistake is made.

One last item. I notice many Hebrew-speakers are not racist. That is encouraging. However, they sometimes say that the English-speaking leaders are here to help. I did not come to Israel because I heard the Hebrews needed help, though. I didn’t come here for money (I could make more in Romania) or power (I had plenty in United States). I, and many others, came here to live. We have the same reasons for staying here as Hebrew-speaking citizens born here.
