Introduction
It has been a while since eCanada has participated in Training Wars willingly. This article is to serve as a recap of what styles of training wars there are and how they operate. Additionally, at the end of the article, a small note on etiquette expected of foreigners in Canadian Training Wars.
Training War Styles
There are two main styles of Training Wars, traditional and ping-pong
Traditional
A traditional training war is one where the visiting country attacks a region and takes control of it. They then attack a second region, while the host country opens a resistance war in the first region. Typically this style uses 3 regions to ensure the visiting country stays, though it is possible to do this style with only two regions.
In this training war style, the visiting country wins all direct battles and loses resistance wars. The host country loses all direct battles and wins all resistance wars.
Ping-Pong
A ping-pong training war is one where no country takes a region of the other. Each country takes turns winning the battle, kind of like a game of ping pong. This style only requires two regions and ensures company production in certain regions is unaffected. Though it does take some extra effort to maintain.
In this training war style, the defending country wins all battles. It is important to note that the defending country changes after each battle.
Canada’s Training Wars Etiquette
If you are a foreigner wanting to fight in a Canadian training war, we ask that you please follow this simple rule:
Do not fight in a Canadian training war for the first 15 minutes of a round. Canadian training war battles are for Canadians first and foremost. Should you fight before the 15 minutes is up, you are risking your battle hero and can expect to have to fight to keep it, should a Canadian be looking for one.
Conclusion
If you are Canadian or need a refresher on training wars and how they work, read the section training war styles. If you are a foreigner, read the section Canada's Training War Etiquette.

We start with a half dozen shot glasses on each side of the table. If I bounce the ping-pong ball off the table then into the shot glass and it stays you have to remove that glass, but if it missed or doesn't stay I have to take a shot of whiskey. The first to remove their opponents glasses wins.
Ok, I got this. 🥃
Great article, thanks for the message and setting expectations.
Thanks.
remember to lift your pinky finger slightly as you press the fight button... Unless its Croatia - in this case, proper etiquette is to raise your middle finger on one or both hands.
If you've got one, pinky finger that is, ARGH.
lol. sorry to hear that. In that case, wearing a content yet confident expression, slightly raise your chin and then give it a subtle, yet jaunty dip as you press the fight button. Your enemy won't see this, but, you'll feel superior. If you happen to have a glass of XR within reach, raise a toast as you refill your health. (I assume you can raise a glass) 😃
Thank you Mann!!!!
Great article!!
Hail Canada!!!
I'm not sure what you prefer all prefer but the Netherlands used to only have traditional training wars(TWs). We eanted to have RWs for our people. In the past 6 months we have more and more moved towards pingpong TWs. One of the reasons is that you can increase the number of countries you are having TWs with. When having TWs with a country your relationship dramatically improves. It's a great way to make new friends and all these countries will be ready to fight for Canada because they now have an interest in keeping you safe.
Hugs from NL
Tell 'em! o7
