[CP] Information on the State of the Nation
Talon Karrde
My Friends,
It’s been a fairly eventful couple of days, with Cabinet getting organised and running, communication with allies flowing and battles with Ireland to fight.
As I said last time, I’m going to steal somebody else’s style for these announcements, simply because I’ve always thought it’s the most simple and easy to understand; so thanks to Addy Lawrence for this!
ON THE NHS
Did you know, oh young players, that you can receive free health every day, courtesy of the NHS? Simply send a private message to Blue and Evil and he’ll sign you up! If you want more info on it and how it works, he’s your port of call.
ON THE GOVERNMENT’S MEDIA PRESENCE…
More articles released for you to read. TWO by Beta: HERE, and HERE. Be sure to read, vote, subscribe and comment on those articles- the former amounts to the first MoF report of the term and the latter definitely needs your input!
Blue and Evil also released a MoLA article HERE - well worth a read.
ON CABINET…
Cabinet has continued very strongly since I last spoke to you. The courts have their first few cases, congress has been PM’d and article’d by Blue and Evil, and MoD orders PMs are all up and running for the month. Coming along nicely!
ON THE BEF…
Last time out I spoke of my funding the BEF until a replacement can be implemented. A few people took exception to that, which is fair enough, so the government will pay via taxes next week. In actual fact Emergy Maxfell volunteered to pay half of last week’s too, so we split that cost. The government will take over from next week. Unfortunately we’re not ready to announce what’s happening yet so that’ll continue to tick over.
ON THE POLITICAL PARTY SUMMIT…
My VP Ergo Deus came up with the idea of a Party Summit for all UK parties, as I mentioned in my last report. I’m pleased to announce this has been finalized now and each party will be sending two reps to the summit this Sunday the fourteenth of October at approximately 2pm BST (6AM Erep time.)
I’m hoping the parties can find a way to work together a little more than they have in recent weeks, and find a way to genuinely bring more talent through for the country. People have mentioned and I agree that doing so is paramount; it’s something we’ve failed at to an extent up to now.
ON THE TREATY OF DUBLIN / IRELAND…
Congress has discussed and voted on scrapping the region swap while maintaining peace, and as of 17:00 today the vote has ended. The result of that vote was that congress has scrapped the region swap- it was fairly close, 11-9 in favour. I’d like to apologize to Ireland for the length of time into my term it took to get this decision from congress, and extend to them the hand of friendship once again; I think close relations between us can only be a good thing, and despite congress deciding the region swap is no longer the way to go I’d just like to reaffirm our commitment to improving relations and developing a lasting friendship.
ON THE IRISH ORG THEFT
Iain Keers wrote THIS ARTICLE regarding the theft of the Irish orgs by as yet unknown parties. The UK had something similar happen to us in the not too distant past, and we sympathise and indeed condemn this action in the strongest terms; our thoughts are with our Irish friends at this time.
That’s it for today, stay tuned for more announcements in the future.

War against eUK
I am sad UK didn't support the region swap any more, but I accept the outcome of the congressional vote.
Good that the UK parties will meet and that we support Ireland to get their organisations back.
Hail UK!

Best regards
Only 20 of 40 congressmen bothered to vote on land swap? Disappointing turn out but eIrish congress activity is much the same. Might be better this way. The swap had probably outlived it's usefulness and appeared to be more trouble than it was worth. Increasingly less and less popular on both sides.
Fair play UK. I believe returning to original regions will help to maintain peace status.
Voted.
Back to war so ;_;
BEF needs complete change
Like to know who did and didn't vote, people are elected to congress to take deal with important stuff like this.

Pity, hopefully this vote doesn't cause problems we saw in the past.
Voted.
I don't think the agreement was for the UK to take Wexford and Mayo, was it?
