[Eire FA] Sh*tstorm deal...
Aras an Uachtarain
Hello eIreland,
this is the official article of Irish Ministry of Foreign Affairs so I’ll try to be as objective as I can while writing them. Excuse me if sometimes my words get too much biased or tempered, but I can’t help it.
This before the 'sh*tstorm even'..
Several days ago, our country has been under Chinese occupation, under occupation of one of the richest countries of eWorld, eIreland has been their alternative, their way to have congress, their hope for regions and future of the country. Our neighbours from the United Kingdom has been occupied by Brazil, attacked by France and Canada. It looked like there’s no hope for none of us. We had several choices, one of them was to get some good deal for us which would make sure that Ireland has a nice income and leave two regions to eChina so they can have their congress too. The other one was to fight, spend millions of money on the CO’s and fail against China (because yes, we couldn’t beat them alone, at least not without risking our future existance in financial view). Just when we’ve reached terms which suited eIreland perfectly, wild eIrish congress appeared and decided that they have the right to lead eIreland in foreign affairs way. I won’t return to this old topic now, but there’s been serious lack of communication, coordination and trust in the Government. eChina has decided to leave the peace negotiations and the wipe of eIreland continued for a while.
I didn’t thought we’ll get the chance we got a bit later, when our friends from Aurora decided that no matter how hard their situation is, helping allies is more important than actually fight for their own regions. Yeah, Macedonia have the advantages of staying here, but the decision to come here and help us was a risky one for them. Yet, they’ve did it. They came here and gloriously liberated eIreland. Croatia came to help eUK and it was all well coordinated between the Governments of Macedonia, Croatia, Ireland and United Kingdom.
Hours before the 'sh*tstorm event'...
There’s been one single issue left to solve. The Canadian-Macedonian peace treaty which would secure stability for our region and our allies. We know that Irish deal with Macedonia considering the Mayo region could determine the future deals between Macedonia and Canada. Our two friends. We wanted them to have a peace and stability. That’s the reason we’ve added Canadian exception in our Mayo Agreement.
'sh*tstorm event' signed..
Mentioned Agreement was a sign of how grateful we were to Macedonia for helping us. It’s them who are without congress for a long, really long time, it’s them who ignored all the risk and yet decided to fly over the whole Europe, come here and liberate eIreland. What do we need Mayo for? A region? For number of congressmens? Do we need border with someone? Nope. The only valid point could be a resource, but in the economy nowadays one resource doesn’t really means much. Even the hardest capitalists agreed with that. So, we’ve decided that having Macedonia here would secure our region against any foreign invaders, bring congress to our allies, which means it would make them stronger, which means they would be able to fight stronger for us once we need help again. It also means that we would get an ally which would be thankful to eIreland until the end of Erepublik.
So, why it wasn’t discussed with the congress?
Reason number 1 is the effect this decision has for eIrish citizens - and there’s no one! There’s absolutely no effect on eIrish citizens, this issue, this questions is simply Foreign Affairs question which should be answered by Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Secondly, due to ongoing negotiations in that time, it was delicate to even mention we’re signing anything while there’s tons of wars going on around our regions. Would Canada decide to sign a deal with Macedonia if Macedonians wasn’t guaranteed to stay in our region? I don’t really think so. Maybe they would, but taking the risk of finding it out would be too expensive.
Finally, the Irish congress mostly has 25 active members, it’s rarity to see the other congressmens active, in my opinion, in the future, we need something more like Senate which would discuss the important questions such is this one. But, trust me, this one wouldn’t be discussed even within the Senate. It was that delicate and risky. So, the point of this paragraph would be...in order to leave the decision making to the congress we need to make sure that parties propose decent, active and loyal members in the congress first. We have tons of multies, foreigners who has recently came and other similar members there.
Who knows, maybe there’s a new SAWC or Daniel Plainview hiding there too, that’s how they’ve started. We need our congress to be made of active and contributive, expirienced citizens BEFORE we make it availiable to actually make decisions. We have more congressmens than active citizens, that says it all. Congress isn’t capable to make important decisions in the name of eIreland.
This Government is elected on the elections, by a democrative way. FRITZHILL has candidated and won the majority of your votes. It’s you who gave us your trust, it’s you who made us make decisions in your name. Anarchy has never led to anything good, can someone name me a single positive thing which anarchy brought to eIreland? It could be the reason we’re still one of the weakest countries in Erepublik. Yet, we have got eIreland in the respectful position through the hard working citizens of Ireland who has made sure we keep our old reputation, our old spirit and the old way our allies sees us. It’s the executive power which kept the Ireland as a stable country.
eIrish Government of December WON’T use demagogy just to make sure people ‘feel happier’ ; we’re making decisions based on the given situations, we’re pragmatics, we’re thinking long termly, and most of all this is the Government that knows and uses game mechanics. The Government that ensures that the nation can be kept on an even keel long enough to make the eIreland actually matter once more on the international stage. The Government of national stability. No, we don’t use phrases like “People should take the charge” or “Ireland needs to let people decide” ; because we're actually giving more power to the people by making our country stronger by making good decisions, not populist ones. People decidede to elect this President, this Government. As long as you don’t impeach FRITZHILL this Government will have executive power to choose a way of making decisions. If you don’t like the way those decisions are made then you should consider running for President next time maybe. Starting partisan, party wars, accussing, publicly saying delicate things which involves our allies, our international picture, especially when this decision is made with the coordinatiion between many Governments can only harm eIreland.
Remember guys, one day the opposition will be in charge too, our allies won’t forget who are the ones which wanted to debate over the simple things in incompetent congress, which unfortunately ours is.
Good luck to eIreland once we decide to go full anarchist, it’s the day we will lose our allies, our money and our people. Don’t support incompetent people who say nice stories, support those who make good calls in the name of the country. Who are those? Up to you to decide, but try to keep it silent if your loud voice harms eIreland.
Signed by,
Don Croata

Hopefully, for this term and this Government's mandate we will put this topic behind us since there's not much more to discuss about. It's up to the next Government how they are going to handle the deal...as it says in the current Agreement.
May the brain be with you eIreland!
o/
You're right if there was not guarantee of them sticking around, those occupiers of PEI would be long gone.
Thank you klop for proving me right to make the call,
We had to make a good call to secure both of the sides to get something positive from the whole situation.
Also, explains to the noobs and partisans why the deal was kept away from the congress and why it was urgent to publish it as soon as possible. .
o/
I don't see problem in helping your allies, personally I think that was good idea. Respect Ireland!

what kind of risk did FYROM take and decided to ''liberate'' Ireland? there are no risks for a wiped out country...
Wiped countries can't AS..
It’s them who are without congress for a long, really long time, it’s them who ignored all the risk and yet decided to fly over the whole Europe, come here and liberate eIreland.
yes they can, all it takes is one succesfull RW...
So, you're saying my statement: "Wiped countries can't AS" is incorrect?

Nice article... 🙂
Support for eIreland!!! o7
hard one...
So the government is going put fuel on the flame by taking a stance on this political issue and it is...wait for it...to not even allow congressmembers to discuss the idea because it's too "sensitive" information for them. Yes, like giving away eIrish territory without consulting the representatives let alone the people.
This article just tries to justify authoritarianism and club any dissent by accusing them of causing bi-partisanship when "government issued" shit is doing exactly that! This doesn't mend anything, you are only cutting deeper in the veins of the people.
Did you even read the article?
If
we
haven't
signed
it
ASAP
Canada and Macedonia
wouldn't
sign
their
deal..
Simple...as...that...
Up to next Government how they gonna handle it...and yes, congress is full of people who doesn't deserve to be there. Ex-Daniel Plainview is there to if you ask...
Guy who robbed Ireland thanks to "give a voice to people, give a chance to youth policy"
why re-post an article on this?
What re-post 😮
I wrote it for the first time, thought it would be good if MoFA explains the deal fully 🙂
I've been asked by Don to give a considered reply here in exchange for him admitting that An Slough was talking out of his ass in the comments of my article.
I'll break it down like Don did into pre signing, signing and post signing.
1. Basically, imho, Don has got the history right with a couple of exceptions. We were in a difficult place & other that the excellently organised Croatian wipe of China on their first AS attempt the MoD performance was not something to write home about. (to those who say I would of done no better...they may be right but I am not MoD) The Moldavian campaign was a unmitigated disaster and the 2nd As by China was not much better with the MoD staff missing at critical times. However out of all this, with a lot of help of allies and the UK (forcing me to re-evaluate my opinion of them) we got clear and eventually removed the Chinese from our lands.
For this we should be very thankful to those countries who fought with us...and I am.
However if we had followed the Governments plan China would still be here holding 2 regions...a menace in our country. Don thinks that Congress was wrong to reject this. I could not disagree more...they were right. I know it is easy to say it now in hindsight but to my mind to reward an invader with 2 regions was just wrong. I would rather be wiped. It was unIrish to capitulate like that.
However there was a differing view, a valid viewpoint, that while I did not accept was a plan that also had merits. However saying that Congress should of left such a decision to the Government was wrong. Should that deal have been accepted it would of needed to go to the eIrish population for ratification also.
The Government does not have free rein to dish out to friends or foes out lands.
please just read over my embarrassing typos 😛
Considering this is coming from you...fair enough!
Except for the Conway part, he did tried hard to defend Ireland, defence against 2nd AS has been massive, they simply had spent tons of money to get here...
Remember our 6 AM talk on IRC?
I have an opinion, However it is my opinion and anyone is welcome to disagree.
As I said it is easy for me to state this after the fact (even though I did so during the events) but it is still my opinion.
No doubt many, including Conway/An Sluagh will disagree as is your/their/his right!
(and I am not talking about out spending them)
Look it is a small part of the comments,,and no doubt he will steam in in the morning telling me how I am all wrong and what a douchbag I am...I'll let him have the last say and not comment further on it.
I'm just going to smile. That's all I can do when it comes to you. Smile 🙂
🙂
2. This bring us to the Mayo Agreement negotiators and subsequent signing by our CP
Don makes much play about the ability of a Government to negotiate these deals in secrecy...not involving Congress. I actually agree with him here...to a point! The Government felt, feels, that having Macedonia in one of our regions is a massive deterrent to future AS attempts. They obviously feel it is worth the lost of partial sovereignty. It is hard to disagree. The Government was right, again IMHO, to seek out arrangements that minimises future risk to our state. That for sure will have a cost tag. They also feel that it rewards our allay and helps them in their battle to keep a Congress during a difficult time in their eHistory. Again hard to argue against.
The major point I disagree with Don, and most of the Government, is that I feel, as did apparently many others, that the final decision on this is not the Governments alone to make. In my version once the agreement had largely been settled both governments should bring it to their ratification processes. What Macedonia's process is I don't know or care, it is entirely a matter for them. We however have precedence, we bring matters of this importance to a national plebiscite. In my view by first informing Congress then a referendum. This was always how we did these things ...until now.
Now the Government says that there was a pressing need to get the deal over the line, in secret, for whatever operational reasons. Accepting their word on this then the proper course of events is to, once announced, then precede with the referendum.
btw Don's comments on the inactivity of Congress is true I have experienced it first hand. It is a problem here in eIreland, one we should look at more closely.
I'm glad you've agreed with most of my points.
Having referendum is surely important event and one of the most favourite of mine, as you know I've organised at least two huge referendums on my own. Which means I care what our soldiers want.
I don't agree this question needed referendum to be decided because of the reasons mentioned in the article 🙂
That's a nice wall of text there, WHS. What paint brush did you use this time?
Nice...
I'm criticised for not giving an opinion. I'm invited to give a considered opinion on this article. I do so. I'm criticised not for the content of the opinion but for doing so in at all.
Oh well as I said C'est La Vie
2 cont.
Don states above that the CP was elected to Govern to make decisions. Yes but he did not state that in his election manifesto (what manifesto) that he would abandon precedent, That if he was to agree a deal we the people would not be consulted to ratify it. If he did then he would have a point, he didn't however so the people have a right to expect the usual precedences to be in effect.
3. So we are now where we are
Our Government signed a deal with an ally which, imho, they do not have the authority to do.
A simple request to bring this to a vote is met with the mother of all shit-storms
We are told we as citizens should shut up and be governed by our betters.
If we don't like it then get our Congress to impeach the CP
Not really the place to be to move forward together.
When a simple disagreement is met with total hostility and abuse.
but then C'est La Vie
Nice!! Great job!
