The Paradox of Pakistan
Anubis.3
By Harsha jayanthi
Hello everyone!
Summer's here, and in a big way. Everywhere the eye turns, there are rows of trees laden with their cargo of golden mangoes, corner-stalls filled with bulbous watermelons, forbidden sweetmeats and the occasional fortuneteller parakeet. In the milder evening, the streets are filled with rampaging children, relieved dogs and lost politicians. It's a time of holidays, high electricity bills and pickles.
In the eWorld, the summer started on a sedate note for the Indians. Bulgaria had landed sometime ago and the country lay divided between their hands and the ubiquitous Croats. Thais still held on to a small chunk of the country, like a benign tumor. Regions were released for congress and given back, wars were fought elsewhere. In short, it was a time of peace.
A new sequence of events was set in motion, when Poland made the decision to airstrike India. For the Poles, it was a chance at fun, the potential prize – 17 Indian regions wasn't too bad either.
In the above map, red represents Poland. The Poles, as is well known is an ally of Serbia, a country which has a less than sterling reputation on the world stage. Within four days, Chile responded to the new threat, initiating an airstrike of their own and managed to extricate the Poles after a relatively short war.
The final positions after this war is shown above. Thailand still hangs on, mostly on virtue of a MPP with Croatia. Chile maintains a staid presence, acquiescing to India's request for AP during congress. The real interest lay to the north. After months of hibernation, prayers and power cuts, Pakistan had finally put together an army and arrived. With that, my readers – the paradox begins.
According to the Pakistani president, the attack was “a part of a wider coordinated effort“. While it's tempting to think of Pakistan having spent all these months hunched over charts and in intense and protracted conversations with Poland, the situation suggests otherwise. Poland attacked, Chile attacked and Pakistan took one look at the map and declared war.
The truth becomes even more damning, with the knowledge that Pakistan was engaged in NAP discussions with the Indian government at the time of the airstrikes. Reportedly, the Pakistani dictator, Strywgr made some “positive steps” towards building better relations with India. The Indian side responded in kind; despite some reservations in sections of congress it was decided to give it a chance. Although, no actual NAP was signed, it is disappointing that Pakistan acted in this fashion.
This throws up several questions about the Pakistani leadership. Was there a difference of opinion between the dictator and the president of Pakistan on this issue? , Was the president aware of the ongoing negotiations?, Or, did Pakistan, sensing a greater opportunity decide to simply ditch the negotiations?
After the attacks, the Pakistan president went on record, putting all the blame on the Indian side's “untrustworthiness” as reasons for calling off the discussions. This is ludicrous at best and exposes a very poor understanding of statecraft. Diplomacy, in general is forward-looking, focused on the future. There are no permanent enemies or friends when it comes to relations with other countries.
Interestingly, in Pakistan's view, India is the exception. Now, if you happen to be friends with Pakistanis, it is easy to sense the strong brotherhood prevalent. They are capable of strong, unexpected acts of kindness to total strangers as well. It's interesting to see these same people capable of intense and undying hate towards people they perceive as enemies.
If India was placed on the opposite side of the world in this game, Pakistan would not let go – they will place themselves on the opposite side in all wars India was involved in. We will have airstrikes every month; Pakistan will, by some means or other make war with India. If by some fickle fantasy of Plato, India disappeared from the map tomorrow, the state of Pakistan would lose it's purpose.
Quite simply, Pakistan holds a national obbession with India. Despite their smaller size, Pakistan has always done everything to stay ahead, to stay competitive. In most cases, they have succeeded. This altitude is reminiscent of the famous bloody-mindness of the Joker, which made him such a great adversary. Perhaps, it is time we learnt something from our neighbors.

"Pakistan would lose it's purpose..." that's true for eWorld and real world both 😛

well not that different from real life is it? out of question of NAP as I said earlier. They love to backstab India. That's what they live for
that is kinda the point of the article 🙂 - The RL world and eWorld are radically different in all respects, except the Indo-Pak rivalry. It even exists in other games as well
Good article

'In most cases, they have succeeded'. i am not sure to what you are referring to dear?
In occupying Indian regions. To my (limited) knowledge, i have never seen India carrying out a successful attack and capturing Pakistan's home regions.
we have once... as far as I remember.. only once..
Not since 2011 mate.
great analysis!!
aww, pakistan is like that chick from 'gone girl'. pakistan completes india :')
or it will, when we invade them 😛
one glorious day, hopefully.
yup hopefully one glorious day.
You say Pakistan is obsessed with India but here you have written an article on Pakistan, as well as many articles by other Indians. I think you've mixed some things up 😉
and here you are reading it, as well as many articles by other indians.
indeed pakistan is not obsessed with India at all. 😉
haha true dat
So? People read articles from other countries all the time.
ohh sshh! he's the Dark Knight,! the world's greatest detective xD
yea dats true, but pakistan is obsessed with India is also true. 😉
Sure, I will grant you that. But, we have other obsessions as well 🙂
Even with India being my first "love of Country", you read and comment on more articles from India than I had when I was in Canada.
Its wonderful to see TheJakal voting TDKs Comment... Reminds me of the time when jakal and u used to be on opposite sides 😛
nice article 07
Superb writing style 🙂 Loved the article. 🙂 Sadly im bored of the Paki hogwash and havent even fought in the puny wars 😃 Been helping BG with their Congress situation... keep writing though, its great to see media alive and kicking! 🙂
I feel you, Ash. They're the elephant in the room and I wanted to address that before moving on to other things 😛
Terrific read! Intelligently written. Keep it up!
Best Read for some time now !!
Keep it Up !! Outstanding indeed !!
You kids give yourself way too much importance. The target was Bulgaria. Bulgaria is gone for now.
As for your NAP, please it was drama of the highest order you sent Srinjoy. Srinjoy is a crazy person all over the place, the number of times hes messaged me for cc, gold, food, tanks is beyond count. Where is your dicktator windfall? or President? Please stop the drama, with your NAP BS.
I already tried to make a deal with Obelisk, he decided to break that agreement. I than agreed to help windfall with his congress expecting the favour returned at a later date, he as usual hides behind his Bulgarian master.
So whilst I am President and have any influence over Pakistan, I will not bother with signing a NAP with Pakistan. Of course we are friendly people so we will always encourage such attempts but India cannot be trusted at all.
As Ashwamaedh put its India vs Pakistan is a waste of time, at first I disagreed because I thought the two countries could create more entertainment for each other given the similarities in the culture and language but sadly the people who run India are simply not interested and hence my interest has died down.
Pakistan took first steps to try and improve relationship and now its India's turn to come up with something if they are truly interested and not send a random message for a random NAP which has no thought into it.
This is a group oriented game. The point of any such game is to be inclusive, provide opportunities for all players to give them an opportunity to learn, mature and grow. To do this we learn to work with people by looking at the intent of their actions. Are they being sincere or are they trolling? Your response, and how you work with them, should be based upon this and not whether you personally like them or not. That is how maturity and professionalism are measured.
The more exclusive you become, the less people you will see participate. Plato does enough to reduce the number of people playing this game. Let's not join him in his inadvertent -- yet predictable -- objective.
It's really surprising. Ur regions are taken over by turkey and u try to remove Bulgaria from India. Bulgaria did not attack Pakistan or pose any threat to Pakistan. Instead they even released the region of Northern India to u instead of j&k as per the wishes of india and Pakistan.
Still ur target has been Bulgaria and not turkey who has taken ur regions.
why is your rhetoric sounding more like Nawaz Sharief and less like a true genuine person? you have not to date tendered any hint of being apologetic for wasting your money and wasting ours on a seriously hostile dictatorship attempt. and yet you talk of "trust"
what is this ridiculous politician style fallacy you hide behind? are you not man enough to admit it?
what was the fun you had then? swiping your card or spending your reserves over what? feeding romanian admins?
to me its delusional... ye[p a long time ago i was deluded by hate too... but i got over it ... i would not even have fought in that rubbish attempt of yours had it not been for the fact that our guys tried hard to earn the gold during the tournament and you came like a thief wanting to take it all.
you really think we care that much about pak ? if we did, we all easily have enough "card power" to take you out and install our own dictator. but thankfully we are smarted than the hate filled bunch erep is renowned for and refuse to get baited by your attacks . We will enjoy our game our way ... if we need pak to fight against, we will NE you just like you NE us... and then will discuss in a pm 🙂 fair enough? dunno if thats fun for you or not... it isnt for me!
for me, chatting and enjoying with friends is fun... 🙂
You ladies are trying to bring way too much meaning to a game.
@Ashwamaedh this isn't real, its a game. No one got hurt, no one forced you to use your credit card like no one forced me to use my credit card.
@Obelisk, you don't make sense. Greece and Bulgaria were fighting, Greece spoke to us, we said sure and that's how it all started.
Yes I've heard it for years, fact is when it comes to having fun us lot in Pakistan enjoy it way more than you guys in India. For you its all serious and no fun, for us we help our allies, we fight against whomever we want and still manage to build relationships.
The first attack I did on India was for fun, it was because Primitive was going to get emarried to Nyx and I thought why not have the eWedding in India. I miss Hamturk, he never took this personally. Which honestly doesn't come as a surprise since India's greatest presidents have predominantly been non-indians.
Loool... U talk of u seeing this as a game and U spend so much of ur card Power here 😛
My money, I can spend it when ever I want. Why do you have a problem with that? eRepublik needs players like me that appreciate and pay so that the game continues.
"As for your NAP, please it was drama of the highest order you sent Srinjoy."
Well, Our Mistake, We are not a Two Man Show Country with an Animal and an Account buyer or anything, we play the game like it is meant to be played. He was our MoFA and he contacted U, just like he was supposed to.
" Of course we are friendly people so we will always encourage such attempts but India cannot be trusted at all."
Friendly People who Propose NE while a NAP discussion is going on, and then saying "Man,I was aiming Bulgaria"
And Ur We were targeting Bulgaria excuse,
Come On, 15 year old, I, could have given better excuses !
Account buyer? Animal? Are you talking about India or Pakistan?
Perhaps you've never been involved when allies do things for each other but this is pretty much how its done.
As for the proposed NAP, as I said it was a massive joke. Probably more to find out what Pakistan intends to do than a genuine effort to build a partnership.

That is what i am saying jakal , u only enjoy fighting against India coz u r obessed with us. U only can see one country on emap and that is eIndia., U just need a excuse to fight against India. Even though eIndia is not ur Natural enemy still u will make friends with those who occupy u and look to attack India.
http://prntscr.com/79lutx
U call us ladies? Sure u can call whatever u want coz it doesnt really matter wat some random idiot has to talk about. But call urself only a man once u start fighting those who occupy u and stop ur country from growing. Since 2011 u have lacked the balls to fight a single war against the country who occupies u. And in future also those balls will never grow. It needs courage and character to fight the strong which u lack
So continue ur obsession with India coz we dont give a damn.
Sure sounds like you give a damn. FYI I have a pretty decent deal with Turkey, FYI we don't have the numbers to fight Turkey, FYI I have attacked Malaysia, TDK attacked Israel, we've fought Iran, Macedonia, Belarus, Greece, Phillipines, Brazil and let us not forget the numerous times we have decimated India. Of course you won't remember but we tried to fight against China as well but failed miserably and eventually gave up.
You talk about balls Obelisk? I don't think you know what balls are. You calling me an idiot? The guy from the country that has been occupied by numerous countries in the last 3 years alone INCLUDING Pakistan.
Pretty please stop deluding yourself. The only reason why things are slightly better in India is because you have windfall as a dictator which has resulted in diplomacy and Bulgarian firepower.
Since you are a noob and don't get it, India is the only country that Pakistan can attack that is pretty much of the same str. and doesn't require an expensive AirStrike time and time again. It's the logical natural enemy for Pakistan because of its border. If I attack China we get wiped, if I attack Croatia we get wiped, if I attack Turkey we get wiped. It's as simple as that. Of course the bonus is when you girls cry every time Pakistan does attack and that in itself is like a half decent bollywood movie.
But logic will not get through to you because you are blinded by hate and anger with symptoms of delusion.
