Hey Congress....
Trenton Rendell
Hey Congress, it's me Trent your Speaker.
This term has been rather slow, with not the same level of activity we're used to in congress.
But theres one request I ask of you.
STOP ABSTAINING!
You're elected to make decisions, You're elected to vote Yes or No.
You're elected to take an interest in congress and the issues that come up.
So grow some balls and decide if you're for or against the issue.
Abstaining is just as worst as not voting at all.

Grow some balls amk lalesi mameleri ac
Is he really?
Seriously, I am asking.
Meh, I'm not abstaining. I'm not voting period 🙂.
I ABSTAIN!
congress should go on this game everyday
Agreed completely.
So Trent really is Speaker, I can assume.
Abstaining = apathy?
Abstaining = lack of information? (but wanting more)
Abstaining = conflict of interest (are we still doing that?)?
Abstaining = protest vote or quorum block?
Somehow apathy seems more likely, I am assuming. The other 3 seem like fair reasons to abstain.
I'm going to abstain from commenting on this except to tell you that I'm abstaining.
Technically the speaker is allowed to use the polling method to hold votes, however no speaker has exercised that right since the "Rules of Decorum" or whatnot were first introduced.
Personally I like public votes, but maybe you'd get less abstentions if they were private, but then again maybe not.
theres a few CDC threads that need to see the light of day Mr.Speaker
also agree that the number of abstentions are way higher than normal
Abstentions could mean that people don't see the point in the process or feel uninformed. It may be more relevant to compare participation rates for in-game votes against abstentions and absences in the forum polls.
If abstentions/absences in the forum match (or close to it) the totals for in-game votes, then you know that you have an inactive or uninformed Congress.
If the numbers don't match and you have more in-game votes, then people are pulling away from the forum process.
Might be worth considering if you want to diagnose the problem.
change the rules the make votes yes or no only
Most of those elected really don't give a crap. Make votes Yes or No as PD suggests.
Abstain.
If you can't make up your mind then you don't belong in congress...... abstain should only be used if there is a direct conflict of interest.....
If you're worried about pissing people off, you don't belong in politics.
"Technically the speaker is allowed to use the polling method to hold votes, however no speaker has exercised that right since the "Rules of Decorum" or whatnot were first introduced."
I used polls. People weren't happy because it was impossible to change their vote and a bunch of people complained.
Since I'm the kind hearted soul that I am, I caved to pressure and stopped using them.
Congress this term is an absolute joke. A bunch of folks looking for the 5g and that's it. Also, stop creating positions that are meaningless and fall into disuse the same MONTH they are created (minister of tl;dr, eCanadian Emperor just off the top of my head).
I have been trying to get into congress for the past two months and i didn't even know there was 5g involved 😛
lol Leo Balzac, minister of tl;dr failed to pass.
