[PotUS][Trekker]Thank you eUSA!

Day 2,694, 22:54 Published in USA USA by Trekker Tlumac

I came into this eWorld three years ago with a profile I had not touched in over two years. It was the first time I had ever really taken a good look at the game. In those days I was merely looking for a time drain to preoccupy me while I should have been studying music theory.

It is a distant memory now. I am no longer in college for music and as of late I rarely play my bass. So much can change in three years.

I wanted a time drain, erepublik became that and more.

In the 16 months I have been META active, there is no doubt that eRep has taken over a disproportionate amount of my time. Something I started as a means to kill a few minutes a day has blossomed into a place that I find myself spending hours most days. Non-interest trickled into interest and later grew into involvement.

It is in this ever escalating stream of involvement that I have found myself in the place I am now: as President and Dictator of the greatest country in the eWorld.

I want to thank every single person to vote for me or to support my campaign. This is an honor I do not take lightly.

I want to thank the parties who supported me. Without you I would not be here and I understand that.

It takes a village to raise a child and it takes a nation to elect a president. I remember this. And I will strive to maintain the humility to which the office is owed.

This quote has always hung deeply in my mind. Even before the politics. To me these words should be the way of life.

Speak softly: One should treat all as though speaking to a loved one (straightforward and generally non-agressvie), and never should harsh words be used when soft words will do the same job.

Carry a big stick: While civility is the rule of the day, the ability to react and/or enforce that which needs to be done with full ability is necessary and should never be hesitated on.

You will go far: By maintaining a respectful manner, devoid of constant outbursts of anger, it is possible to go further than by brute force or harsh words alone.

It has long been the popular belief that in life the loudest member is always right. This simply is not correct. How can one think above the noise of their own voice if all they do is shout? No. It has been my experience the real thinkers are those who do not spend the most time shouting how their idea is better than anyone else.

I am quieter than most of the politicians many may have known. I am often more gentle than many think is necessary. Do not mistake these qualities for weakness. I am anything but weak. In the coming days it will become clear what is my particular brand of power.

In the election I garnered 54% of the vote. This in no way means that I am Country President of only 54% of the population. In my campaign I made it clear I wanted to the be country president of all the United States; I meant that statement.

Together, in the coming weeks, we will advance this country into the future. I have spent the better part of the last month planning this campaign, it is not my intention to blow this chance. I have filled my cabinet with the best staff possible. And I have worked to fill the departments with bodies to help with the work load. I am confident that we have what the tools and people we need to make this next month great.

I would like to congratulate my opponents on a good race. There is no ill will. It was a tough race and we all performed well.

The last thing I would like to address tonight is that the country has a deep tradition of great media. During my presidency this will continue. We have the newspapers and the outreach available. I encourage all citizens to get involved and educated. Below is the listing for many of the national papers, including mine.

Until next time,

Lizard-in-Chief and President,
