It wasn't roaring it was weeping.
Miyagiyoda
South Africa has agreed to become a satellite state of Brazil. The latest deal not only signs away non-duplicate regions, but guarantees no South Africans will be born in eRepublik. Nice play.
Let's break down our golden shackles:
- Gauteng is South Africa's single biggest growth region and a Fruits resource. We get Limpopo.
- Western Cape is South Africa's 2nd biggest growth region and a duplicate Aluminum with Free State our 4th largest growth region - tough call.
- KwaZulu Natal is South Africa's 3rd biggest growth region and a duplicate of Cattle with Mpumalanga our lowest growth region. We get Mpumalanga.
- Eastern Cape is a terrible growth region, but our unique Deer. We give away 5% productivity in Food Manufacture for 75 Gold a month. We can argue about this.
Notice the slick deal. South Africa not only signs away non-duplicate regions, but all our highest population growth regions. We have bought our shackles and forged them in gold.
South Africa essentially guarantees its extinction in exchange for 300 Gold, no borders other than Brazil and "protection" form Brazil's big buddy Indonesia, and any chance at an international future. South Africa is Brazil's eLesotho.

But wait, there's more - not only do we agree to genocide, but the wound needs a little more salt: we cannot a MPP with Spain (a traditional ally) and must court PANAM who hates us. So in exchange for destroying all prospects of a future we have our foreign policy dictated by Brazil. South Africa thus graduates to ePalestine.

Voted hard. There's a difference between diplomacy and oppression.
voted, sad to see it come to this 🙁
why cant you sign the spanish mpp tho?
eBR threatening to attack?
"and must court PANAM who hates us."
Not sure what you're smoking, but I would ask for a refund if I were you.
I thought we get Gauteng?
@zamrg
I dont think we do
If PANAM - i.e. eUSA would like eSA, it would help. At least diplomacy wise.
Very good analysis. I missed your articles nowadays!
To my knowledge, eUSA hasn't given a stance on South Africa yet. But considering how we've had our hand forced and begun allying with unfriendly regions, there's a chance eSA could be viewed as a persona non grata. It's a matter of diplomacy. We're in a situation and are looking for any hand to grab. Doesn't matter which, doesn't matter how many.
Plus, many eAmerican's are pro-Brazil. It's doubtful that they'd harm relations with their new friend. I'd think the best realistic scenario is eUSA taking a neutral stance. We've provided minor assistance for EDEN with eUSA for months, and many eSA citizens are/were in some eUSA military. It would be a bit backstabby to betray soldiers that way. Just my thoughts on the matter.
wait what? Brazil fracking changed the contract again am i missing something?
Where is the latest agreement?
The post by Grimstone on the forum says they've voted on Option 2. Doesn't this mean the return of Mpumalanga, North West Province, Gauteng and a MPP?
@Zamrg thats what I though.
Hi everyone, Please don't panic. No deal has changed or has been renegotiated. In fact there is no deal as it was suspended and we await the outcome and brazil's decision. It' seems everyone is missing the fact that Miyagi is referring to the original contract that was released. As there has been no other deal negotiated or signed.
So just watch for the updates on the forum. The latest update of happening was posted on our forum last night. I suggest everyone read it so that you are well informed.
No mpp
For what it's worth, I would be all for an alliance with eUSA. Shiloh's earlier comments are correct. There is definitely a strong conection between eSA & eUSA.
To go from eSA to eUSA, just add the "U".
We MUST get Gauteng. Non-negotiable.
We MUST get Gauteng. Non-negotiable. X 2
@ Grimstone
You should give occasional updates on this with the presidency paper. The only eSA articles on the Brazil affair are either outdated or incorrect. Big news should be available on the eRep site itself.
I was gonna right something up myself, but I was lazy, and didn't know much.
@Mashaka
You are correct. However certain information is better kept to the forum where citizens of eSA can view them. I will of course release an updated article with information that can be made public for the world to see.
This article is BUNK right now considering we don't know what regions we get back. (See Grim's comments)
In the original contract, we got back some of the regions you are counting off
Until we do get regions back the analysis is still pertinent. Brazil may choose to be a real friend of South Africa to build a bright new future or practice the politics of containment which will end badly. Their choice.
