Budget and Finance Committee Agenda
DMV3
As the new Chairman of the Budget and Finance Committee, I would like to set a progressive agenda for B&F for this term. The major change this term is transparency.
Every committee vote will be made public before proposals are submitted to Congress for a vote.
So far this session we have worked on addressing the rising prices of high Q food; we're currently voting on a proposal that would cut the Vat on food in half to help alleviate the high prices consumers are currently paying.
Also this term I hope to introduce a proposal requiring all new budget requests be submitted in an itemized form. By doing this my hope is that all budget items will have to be justified, as opposed to just awarding money because it is requested.
This term I'd also like to discuss setting up a program to encourage exporting raw materials to friendly countries that lack high resource regions. The program would offer a matching fund for export licenses to countries that are either friendly to the eUS, or neutral.

Subsidizing export licenses is not cost effective for the government at all, I don't think Congress should put money toward those kinds of expenses. We already have a banking system that can lend money for those kinds of expenses at no cost to taxpayers.
When you say requests should be itemized, do you mean official requests to the CBO? What level of itemization are you requiring, especially from the military?
No, requests for funding when passing a new budget. As far as how much itemization I'd like to see, I am hoping that request will spell out exactly what the money will be used for. I don't expect the military to spell out how many weapons they intend to buy for example, but I'd like to know what exactly we're approving. Meaning if the Army is spending x gold on guns, and y gold on communes for example I don't see the issue with them explaining where spending is going.
government transparency is cool
Right, that makes sense. Good luck.
Transparency that made me v/s
Excellent article. I like the way this is going. I think we have a lot in common. sydiot, can you tell me who pays import taxes? Are export licenses a form of export tax?
This is cool.
