Vote for an EPIC Congress on February 25th
Roger Griswald
eCanada has seen a great many successes in our wars abroad over the last month, us and our allies have advanced our collective goals and seen much economic prosperity. Whilst our country has advanced our foreign policy goals, we face a growing challenge domestically. A darkness is growing in eCanada, one that seeks to subvert our collective national goals and undermine the work so many of us have done for eCanada.
EPIC was founded as a party of independents, one that welcomed all political beliefs and citizens, so long as their goal was to improve eCanada to the benefit of all citizens. In our current political context, that core mission is proving more important then ever. Many have called EPIC the last tower standing, the last refuge, or a beacon of hope for renewal. While these musings channel the symbolism of the white tower of Gondor, I do not think of EPIC as the tower in the image above, but rather a rock upon which our society is built. Like that rock, we will whether this storm and see the sun rise anew.
To that end I am pleased to announce the EPIC candidates for congress. A group of committed citizens, loyal to eCanada, who will fight everyday to defend it. This diverse group of candidates comprises some of our country’s most recognizable names and most experienced citizens along with a variety of fresh ideas, faces and backgrounds, who collectively represent the tapestry of our eCanadian community:

20 of the 34 candidates, I would consider voting. That's all I'll say 😉
Good luck to everyone both inside and outside of EPIC.
Lets get an active, dedicated and committed congress in full!
What an epic line-up.
GL Roger, we've got this sorted 🙂
So many great candidates!
Good luck to everyone!
Good to see a few of our friends from parties that have been hijacked on our ballot
Good luck to everyone!
Nice presentation 🙂
Hey hey good to see EZStreet back in action, but then theres 5 gold up for grabs
Is sponsoring a currently banned citizen part of being a beacon of hope for renewal
angry crisfire is pissed off. sorry to hear Kronos vetoed your motion. You seem pissed, if you need to chat let me know instead of posting angry posts here and there. Take care bro.
im not mad at all just asking a question that you dodged
Good luck!
@crisfire; I apologise that you feel I was dodging a question, however I doubted that you were considering voting for our party, given your obvious hostility towards us throughout the media as of late.
Please note that as a party EPIC often offers up a space or two for parties that are not in the top 5 so that their members have a shot at a congress seat to diversify the opinions discussed in making decisions on the direction of eCanada. In EZStreet's case, he was a nominee of the Canadian Progressive Front (CPF). Until you posted this, I, like most of eCanada were unaware of his charge.
To fill everyone else in: apparently EZStreet was charged with administering a 1 gold processing fee to new citizens as he processed their applications in his role as Secretary of State, in total he collected 9 gold. While EZStreet stated in court that he meant to donate the gold to government programs, he has yet to do so (his sentence was implemented yesterday Feb21). As such, EZStreet was given a 3 week ban from the eCan forums. I would assume the CPF was aware of this when they nominated him to run, yet could overlook this blemish given his prior record of service (3 term cabinet member, 4 term congress member, etc). The final decision to elect EZStreet on February 25th is up to his constituent in West Midlands.
However if, crisfire, your concern stemmed from whether you should move to pardon for EZStreet in congress (as you just did for Rolo), I would guess that, without speaking for EZStreet, he has accepted the judgement of the court and will happily comply with it for the short remainder of his sentence. As such no action to pardon him is required. He will, like many before, learn from his mistakes.
he didnt accept it, he was given a choice which he failed to make and was adamant that he did no wrong so im unsure about your assumption that he has learned from his mistake
If he's running for your party you are sponsoring him
wouldnt the ban mean he misses most of the congress term? just wondering.
Goodluck to all! o/
"I would assume the CPF was aware of this when they nominated (EZStreet) to run"
Nope, I had no idea until I read it here. Did the PP know? I have no idea. The findings and terms of the actual sentencing? No idea.
Are people who play in-game only supposed to know what occurs in the forum? No idea.
Since I have no idea what goes on in a forum and I could become PP if I tried, does this mean I would be failing to fulfill my duties as a PP for not being informed about the legality of a candidacy I approve? Possibly, yet still a possibility that can't go ignored.
Supreme Court or whoever is managing things needs to incorporate their work in-game or else remain an less relevant authority that is heard of through second-hand sources. I say that with fondness and sincere persuasion.
@Plugson: fair points
@crisfire: fair points
@Damien: its unclear if his forum ban started on Feb 1 or the 21st, mostly because the court was really disorganised and apparently didn't remove it til yesterday. I have sent a message to the CPF about this situation.
Even if his ban have started on 21 (although I have doubt), on 25 Jan. there were new elections and he didn't candidate. So, was a question of 2-3 days.
I wish to salute the EPIC continuation of allowing smaller parties to run candidates. This has an become increasingly valuable community service as other parties have been assimilated by the Borg.
UPDATE: Plugson has been chosen to replace EZStreet by the Canadian Progressive Front.
ty ~ I wish it wasn't to replace EZStreet, yet I'll take a slot where there is an opening.
UPDATE: EPIC has added its nominees for the newly liberated region of Northern Irelan😛 frank139 and Mann551.
Nice article, salutations from Sweden!
Best of luck!

Don't know, but maybe voting to pardon the game's biggest thief is.
