[Politikon] Romania's foreign policy [republicat]

Motto: "Guess that renewing MMPP will have to be reviewed because signing them with countries that celebrate our defeats is not reasonable." Pokerman30

The Romanian-EDEN relationship is due to worse, as a result of articles like this one, or this one. A short overview, although I guess everybody knows what is all this about.

Some two months ago, Romanian decided to attack Bulgaria in order to gain access to the high resources regions of central Asia. Although it wasn't easy, Romania managed to defeat Bulgaria and their MPPs and move on to attack Turkey. We have lost the war we Turkey in Marmara, although we have had some allied help, but, later on, we have lost the war with Serbia, who conquered the Romanian owned Bulgarian regions. It was this war that started the Romanian-EDEN diplomatic dispute. Romanian media accused EDEN countries for not helping Romania in this war against Serbia, while various EDEN newspapers were stressing the lack of importance for this war and the higher importance of keeping Indonesia out of Africa and South America (an explanation of this policy here). To cut the long story short, Romanian lost all Bulgarian regions, Indonesia was reduced to its original regions and everybody could focus now on the Western European War (more on this war in the next article, sometimes later today).

The important thing is however, that the Romanian president announced a new foreign policy in the Romanian-EDEN relationships, the most important part of it being that "Romania will NOT send any military units, financed by the Romanian state, to fight in foreign battles in which Romania's direct interest is not represented, the exception here being Croatia."

The article announcing this new policy got a lot of attention in the media (>3300 votes, ~600 comments, 39 trackbacks) and also showed that there is a lot of unofficial support for Romania, coming from citizens, countries, army members. Some examples here, here and here. Or here.

And here comes our mistake: while the initial complains against EDEN for not helping Romania were backed by battle statistics, and we received a lot of sympathy, the follow-up is disastrous. Romanian media is full of articles in which Romanians are making fun of our allies (mostly Spain, but others, too) for loosing battles against Phoenix and promising anything but help. This is counter-productive, my dear Romanian! And it will fire back!

As partly stressed out in this paper, we must rely on diplomacy and mutual respect in order to prevail. EDEN is loosing big time in Europe and there is no time for us to continue this futile dispute. We have made our point, we have attracted attention on the bed relations within EDEN, we have gotten appreciation and sympathy and now we must build on this, not doing the stupid, childish thing we are doing!

Sit down, analyze the latest developments in international relations, change the way MPP are working, plan the next steps. Or else, in two months, there will be PHOENIX all over Europe!
