[MDP] We Traded Our Shovels For Guns
Muglack
Well, I guess we got what we wanted. A war.
A week ago I wrote an article talking about the new direction I would be taking the MDP. How I was more interested in building bridges and bringing the country together rather than digging trenches and growing the divide between the interested parties in this country. I sent out a call asking like minded people to respond in the comments or in PMs if they were like minded and wanted to help with this initiative.
I received 2 replies.
That's it. 2. Talk about a let down.
I expected to have to break trail to get where I wanted to be, but I didn't expect an uphill battle as well. But so it goes, and I'm ready for the challenge.
Lucky for me I guess that the factions have quieted down since the three front war has broken out. It seems that history is repeating itself, and while we have a war with outsiders we're willing to put aside our petty differences and fight together. I only hope the tradition holds and we're able to use it as a starting point to make real progress.
Now on to other matters.
Congress elections are looming. While I don't think I need to tout the effectiveness of the MDP in those hallowed halls I think it's customary for me to do so anyway. MDP's track record for being involved and pushing debate and issues is well documented. We're a party full of leaders, and when this country needs players to step up ours members are normally the first to their feet. In a time of war we need experienced players that know how to get things done in what might be our last Congress for a long long time. Make sure that you do your part to make sure it's an effective one.
You can rest assured that a vote for the MDP on the 25th is never a vote wasted. Whether it's the 1st member on our ballot, or the 15th none of our candidates are throwaways.
That's all for now. I'll write a post election breakdown on the 26th as well as unveil the council.

MUPPETS!
I don't buy into the whole partisan warfare idea. Parties don't mean anything anymore. All we have are jackasses and loudmouths. Sometimes (often?) they are one and the same person. Sometimes they argue with others. I say leave the politics out of our petty squabbling and keep it personal!
Coke vs. Pepsi.
Pepsi (Except Dr. Pepper, I like Dr. Pepper. Especially 'Cherry' Dr. Pepper.)
Definitely Dr. Pepper (isn't it cherry-ey enough already, though?). Or maybe Fresca.

Here here!
A vote for Muglack is a vote for Throwaway.
Move to TMS and Vote The Muppet Show for a Brave New Canada free of war-mongering elitist...

Didn't say too much 'cause I was still figuring out who's who. I've sort of got a handle now but forgive me if I misread your intentions and say something stupid. FWIW I can do the stupid thing even after I know you well. 😛
I like being loud. I enjoy a good knock down, drag out fight as long as it is not just shit head trolling. Piss me off and it sets a fire under my bee-hind. I get lots more stuff done when I'm mad. (Look at my track record in Switzerland for example.) But there has to be common sense applied here. Just being mad and poking at someone (while entertaining sometimes) accomplishes nothing.
That said, however it is motivated, cooperation between rivals for a common goal works every time. Sometimes it can even become a competition to reach the goal. However petty bickering and backbiting seldom achieves anything but butthurt buddies or worse, enemies.
As far as vesting my time into a party, it has been quite awhile since I tried to 'fit in' a party and that turned out badly. Mostly I just lend myself out to help with things. Anyhoo, I willing to try stuff if everyone else is going to try.
I'm pretty sure we're two sides of the same coin. If you ever want to get involved with politics let me know,
I actually did plan on sending you a PM, but I figured I would be an unwanted figure in any bridge building, based on what I assumed were other's opinions on me. If you think I could help in the effort, send me a PM.
Well if you ever want to setup a Military Council again, I'm still down for doing it.
Truth is, this game brings out the worst in people occasionally, and the best in people just about never.
I guess I took your "start at ground zero" comment for granted and should have renewed my interest in working with you on this with a pm. I am still interested now
would be good to have updates on progress of current topics in congress.
