[MDP] A Soapbox not a Pulpit
Muglack
Long story short, I wrote a long winded and elegant article about the future of eCanada. I wrote about where we've been (like in my history of the MDP article), where we are now, and what needs to happen in the future.
I started by saying that if eCanada's tumultuous and mercurial past were to be summed up into only a handful of words those words would be theft, deceit, disappearance, collusion, and betrayal. I spoke about how those words have been able to do whatever we have never been able to accomplish. They have found a way to work together and it has cost us all greatly.
I made allegories about eCanada being a ship lost at sea that has sprung leak. How it's quickly filling with water and that we need people who are willing to throw away the past and help bale more than we need people who are more concerned about their baggage then they are about doing any real work to help us save the ship.
I wrote about my own transgressions and how walking down that dark path has allowed me to better see the forest for the trees, rather than be blinded by a devotion and love for a black and white society that could truly never exist.
I asked for the MDP to elect me on the 15th so that I could take the dictator's throne and transform it. Not into a pulpit from which I would preach doom and destruction to anyone that refused to listen but into a soapbox so that anyone who could hear what I was saying would see the truth behind my words and by adding their own voices to mine make the message stronger.
I finished the article by saying that on November 15th I hope that people agree with my message and my goals so that I can get to work and start handing out buckets.
Then I clicked the preview button to see if my image links worked. As a result eRepublik refreshed my page and all of my writing was gone. All of those words which I had written were gone. So much dust in the wind.
But instead of getting mad and giving up, I decided that my frustration wasn't going to stop me. So I wrote what you just read. It's not as flowery as before or nearly as well written, but the message is the same.

Go get 'em Muglack!
I'm standing behind you.
Your part in theft, deceit, disappearance, collusion, and betrayal are qualifications for the job. And Mary Chan agrees. Many others as well. Your article demonstrates those qualifications well.
Or: you just want to write nonsense 'cause its fun to do and the reactions, like this one, are predictable.
Voted. Good luck.
I've never had any part in thefts or betrayals. I my self am guilty of the other 3.
The deceit was the sham court case for Rolo in which I took part.
The disappearance was when Rolo was impeached and I became CP even though no one talked to me first to see if I was actually going to be present and my RL plans had me AFK for a majority of the remainder of the term.
And being an architect of Project Mayhem more than covers collusion.
I have however never stolen anything, nor have I betrayed anyone that I have given my word.
😁^
agreed
dear Light of Palearo: I'm not going after anyone. I quoted Mug's own description. It is an honest and fair one. He deserves credit for that. To honestly and fairly describe one's role in hurting the community doesn't qualify as good credentials for a position of trust and authority however.
sub # 100 Hopefully you can give the party its much needed direction and boost to activity.
That's ironic coming from a person who followed one of the most destructive and corrupt people in the history of our country. Your fearless leader is guilty of committing four of the sins I listed that I'm personally aware of, and in all likelihood he's probably guilty of theft as well.
But I digress.
To get back on topic, I feel it makes me more fit to lead. Like former addicts making the best drug councillors, or former gang leaders being the best peace negotiators between rival gangs, I have the perspective of both sides required to get the ball rolling on putting this country back together.
bullshit muglack
you stole my manginity
go team?
Should always write the article off line then paste it into erep. Now your work of genius is lost forever and I have to vote for this less then perfect work.
Normally I copy it in case it gets lost. I didn't do it because I didn't think that hitting the preview button would refresh my screen. But now I know.
Well written and well said!
