😛72nd Congress, Vol. 3/4 - Two Weeks’ Congress Activity
Welcome to THE SPEAKER'S WOR
😨the official journal of the eUSA Congress.
Dateline: Sunday, December 22 (Day 2224)
Location: 72nd US Congress
Editor: George Armstrong "Old Man" Custer
Music: The Who: Tommy (1969, full album)
The Word of the Day:
: 1 : Follow up to Previous Reports
: 2 : This Two Weeks' Congressional Activity
: 3 : The Week Ahead
Editor’s Note: I’ve been terrible sick, so last week’s Speaker’s Word didn’t happen. This edition covers the past two weeks’ Congressional activity.
Follow-up to Previous Congressional Activity Reports
You’ll remember that in our previous edition of the Word we reported activity in the Private Congress forums about US-Ireland rentals and non-aggression pacts. Those issues have become public knowledge now, through this article by President NewAzazel.
This Two Weeks’ Congressional Activity
Sign-in 12/09: “39 sign-ins, Quorum is 20.”
Sign-in 12/16: “35 sign ins. Quorum is...let's see...minus 8, carry the one, take the reciprocal....18.”
In our last edition we noted that the Congressional Citizen Award Program has been repealed, immediately followed by a Discussion to renew it through clearer wording. This thread ended as its author, Disco Musolini declared, “There doesn't seem to be much, if any, support for this.”
Even as the above rewrite was being discussed, Congress followed the path agreed upon while repealing the original legislation, that legislation is not needed to simply nominate a citizen to be honored. Here’s that round of Discussion, Proposal and Vote.
Kemal Ergenekon is hereby recognized and honored ”for his steadfast and comprehensive monitoring and reporting of the eUS Economic situation and how we relate to the rest of the eWorld + his copious use of graphs and charts, with colors, upon which we are, all-to-infrequently, allowed to feast our eyes and drool in awe”: Yes 30; No 0; Abstain: 1.
Speaker Dr Luis sought public input, asking what Congress might discuss. Here is the first of those Discussions, as proposed by citizen K9Fun66.
[Discussion] Lowering Work Tax did not move to a Proposal and Vote, as Congress has previously legislated (see [Vote] Fiscal Solvency Protection Act) that the Work Tax would remain as is until the Reserves target is reached.
Auto Censure of The Wild Card kicked in as the Congressman approved a citizen request outside IES guidelines. The Wild Card did not protest the auto-censure; Congress did not open a Repeal Discussion; the censure stands.
In Game Proposals
● In Progress: President of Chile proposed a mutual protection pact with USA
● In Progress: The President of USA demanded a sum of 0 gold from your National Treasury in return to a peace treaty with USA.
Huh? It's a glitch that still hasn't been fixed by the admins. It means that we either need to wait for the current proposal to fail/pass and then propose another peace treaty - or to ask Ireland to propose a peace treaty themselves.

Word
Through DLS' form I asked for a discussion concerning the Posthumous awarding of the Citizen Awards to Eugene Harlot, Gaius Julius and Lieutenant Scheisskopf, all of whom are very deserving of such an award....
I have your proposal but as you might understand, it might not be done the way you want. Congress can in fact nominate people to receive such awards and congress can take your proposed suggestions for this sort of nomination but there is a democratic procedure in which each congressman votes on who deserves such award.
Yet there has not been even one discussion thread concerning any of those citizens getting the award, you might as well have called it the 'The Kiss Kemal Ergenekon's Butt Award'....
