Friendship commitment–an official proposal of the Foreign Office Moldova Ind

Foreign Office Moldova
Nowadays we, the eMoldavian Congress and Government, consider improving the international relationships and developing new ties with other countries similar to us.
Hence, we have formulated and transmitted to other presidents, MoFAs, or just citizens of the eWorld, our proposition to settle an agreement in the shape of an alliance between little and medium sized states.
Why?
Because the existing alliances embrace only big and strong states, leaving out the smaller ones. Also, because the mighty states generally manage their own politics following their goals, often regardless of the interests of the little states.
Moreover, the little states, taken individually, have no significance to a big country, like the USA, Spain, Hungary or Russia, but, put together, say 5 little states, could match the big states size.
Another reason is that in little states communities are very close (it is more natural to establish strong bonds with some people but it tends to be impossible to do so in a community of over 10.000, for example).
Finally, to better protect and defend our interests.
How?
As a rule, the little states do not have high amounts of resources (as general strategy in eR, the big countries take the high resources region – this being the primary cause of the world wars) so they also do not have very much money (or gold) to support a big war effort.
That for we believe that the little countries should activate MPPs only in case of danger, like some external threat or fighting for regaining a region which previously (originaly) belonged to them. Also, we believe that it is not appropriate to create “external” funds, based on the contributions of the friendship member states and neither to create elaborated HQ structures and bureaucratic staff.
Still, some councils will be needed (like the council of ePresidents, the council of the MoDs or the council of the MoFAs), but in order to assure the presence and representation of all the country’s involved.
But we do consider that all the countries involved in this should maintain strong relations, at all levels (even between citizens), so as to exercise and cement the friendship between them.
In other words, we see a community of equal country’s and, most important, equal people, in rights and liberties.
Also, we believe the economic joint venture between countries will prove beneficial.
This community is meant for defense and mutual support, not for conquering territories / winning wars.
Method / Concept
This is just a proposition, subject to changes and negotiation between the interested countries, which will be made public in all the countries we have already contacted so as to get the feedback of the people and/or of the country Congress and Presidents.
Should some countries show interest in this we will proceed to the next step, which is effectively signing the allegiance pledge of this community.
Best regards to all of you !
Maniu, President of eMoldova

@Naga (your Lordship) 😃
They are some proposal, like Thunder Mountain 🙂, but I think it will be nice to just call it : "The Comunity of Free States" or just "The Comunity".
Further more, we also think at some songs that for, like that one:

🙂, I take the liberty of this unoficial response, knowing you so well.
@vigi, Thanks you again.
Best regards to all of you, friends.
To be really honest? I don't think any alliance containing only small countries, is completely useless when it comes to defense. Yes things like bonds 'n stuff sound very nice, but in the end, small countries, no matter how much, will always lose from the bigger players.
So I'd like to ask you, how are you planning to tackle that problem? What if, let's say Hungary, decides to attack. Of course they get help from others, doesn't have to be countries, but they'll always get volunteers from other Phoenix countries. I personally don't think that an alliance of small countries can beat this.
Not to mention the fact that a lot of small countries already are in an alliance (either the big ones or the smaller ones like SoL).
Good question Brood.
Well, if you look more carefully, it is not an alliance, it is a friendship commitement.
Factly, this formula was sugested by maverick.
So, surrely, everyone will deal with his neighbours (is natural and normal to do so) but, in case of danger, what some little state could do?
Ask help from the big guys and, doing so, chosing a side (EDEN or Phoenix in brief).
This proposition offer another way to deal the problems.
Calling to friends is not only helpful as direct action, but also, indirect.
Take an example.
Indo chose to atack India.
If you call the eUSA in help, you allready have chosen a side.
Still, eUSA will not look well at the Indo action and, probably will react anyhow.
So, in this case, if India could prove that his war effort (an the effort of his friends) was really important, in my opinion, could aproch diferently the discution with the big friend.
Well, I'm sure you could imagine even other advantages from a comunity and a commitment like that.
🙂
eIndia's current official stance is to not join any allaiance but as MoFA I am all for improving our relations with any nations 😃
This sounds like a great idea! I think small and neutral countries should have some sort of contract/agreement type thing. I'll always support becoming friends with Moldova, because I started eRepublik in Moldova.
An idea worth a good try I think..
I'm always in for improving relationships, that's for sure and it all looks nice. But I'd like to see it work first.
Excuse me, a lil question to everyone who say eIndia is built on along the RL lines say neutrality and stuff....
Nehru advocated that all the 3rd world countries(apart from axis and allied forces) should form an alliance/brotherhood. He never said India should stay secluded, without joining any alliance or friendships. Ofc, India dint join any Official Alliance but, we deploy troops and offer support for our friends in case they need help from us.
U shud b well aware of this if u know, what happened in Bangladesh in 1971 ? We fought for separate Bangladesh, dint we ?
Please open your eyes, he said he wont join America or Russia but never was his idea was to keep India secluded and isolated frm the rest of the world.
I dont expect long posts from u guys, please keep it brief.
Thank you
Since we dont have tons of gold, I say we shud form an onofficial alliance/brotherhood......
agreed with naga,
moreover, in RL we are strong, here we are not, so neutrality not a smart choice
As Manju said, the idea is not regarding forming another alliance, but along the policy we've been following for quite sometime now. Its to build a community, where there is more extensive interaction between the Citizens of the various nations involved. This will lead to more business opportunities, more understanding of each other's cultures and policies, and of course assistance during times of crisis.
As I had suggested to Manju as well, the inherent problem of alliances isn't about choosing sides, its about putting an obligation on one country or other, by dint of laws and such. If we're saying that an alliance helps develop friendship between nations and such, then imo its an artificial form of promoting friendship. If one is genuine friends, I am sure one would go to another's aid irrespective of whether one is in an alliance or not. The community theroy only further promtes this idea imo.
However as Brood said its practical considerations are yet to be explored and we'll surely see if this has potential & support in any way we can. Cheers!
@Naga, I'm not sure if anyone ever stated our 'neutral' stance was advocated based on RL policy or philosophy.
Personally I feel & I've stated this before, we advocate 'Independence' (a term the eIrish use in fact), where we seek to take actions that are in our best interests, of course not denying the interests of our friends/allies. Imo 'neutrality' DOES NOT define our stance really, as of course one has to take the aid of one 'side' or the other, and respond in action as well. So imo, we're 'Independent' rather than 'Neutral' & I hope this stance will be officially adopted by our administrations someday soon.
As for Nehru's philosophy, I'm fully with you on this. Our RL foreign policy is a whole different subject imo, and when we talk of being in similar lines with RL India, as I've stated before as well, its more about our philosophy of Respect that we're built on, rather than specific policies.
Sorry dude, long post. 😒
I might accept that the alliances EDEN or Phoenix are after the high region Karnataka, but what abt SOL ? They arent expecting anything from us, unless their security is under threat. Are we that afraid, we might be in danger if we are to go against a bigger power(say indo) for the sake of friendship/alliance(with malaysia or sol) ?
What I was afraid of, is that the neutrality concept could bring us more of a selfish/isolated nature rather than the same being termed independent. 🙁
Sorry, but in short - It probably won't work. 😕
Naga I don't think you really have to worry about that, I mean I've been here for more than a year and India hasn't been really selfish at any time. The people who live here just aren't that kind of players and as you've seen in the past (won't call names, you probably can remember some yourself) selfish people left very quickly after they met us ^.^
