Could the political scenario be improved?
Redi Jodikku
This game is clearly focused on the military aspect, being 8 out of 13 medals dedicated to it, apart from the decorations you get for being in the weekly damage.
I started to share my point of view in a post, but now i wanted to extend myself a little more and encourage everyone to participate in it. It will be completely to share point of views, because it’s not gonna happen anyway.
So, here some thoughts that in my opinion could help people to get more involved in politics.
Ministries rewards
So, my opinion is that political spots (as being MoFA, MoD, MoE…) should give us a fancy medal or a decoration. Why? For the same reason we get one for being elected as congress member.
The main “problem” is that ministers are not directly elected ingame, we can only elect the CP. But we use to know who is gonna be in every minister when we elect a CP, we don’t just choose a guy, but a team, or even a party.
Also, that could create free riders if it’s not well regulated. I had two ideas on how to award them. The first one, the people who is appointed ingame the 5th, gets the reward. So, you will get it after a month of work, because the day you are elected you can’t be appointed ingame as it’s need to recount votes and stuff the 6th.
The second idea I had is to give it after 30 days of service ingame, but this means that if a CP/Dictator does not appoint you ingame the exact day of the recount, you are not gonna get the reward in time most probably and this could create some problems.
Party president rewards
The 5th, the elected presidents receives an award for being the new Country President, the 25th, congress members receive an award for being elected as congress member, but the 15th, party presidents don’t.
If we award every party president there will be a lot of people creating new parties with just 2 or 3 people to get the medal, and that’s not desirable in my opinion, so I would constrain it to just top5 or top10 parties.
Party Rewards
Military Units are awarded when they win a competition or they get a good position in the weekly challenge. My proposal is to do something similar with Political Parties. Every time a proposed candidate becomes CP, they are awarded with a medal, it’s not even needed that it gives it gold, because parties have no money, but just a decoration.
This should stimulate parties to propose their own candidates.
Until here my ideas and main proposal, feel free to drop a your thoughts in the comment section and debate a little about them. I’m sure you all have also your own ideas that could help to improve the political scenario in that have been recently “attacked” with the introduction of dictatorships. Share it so we all can talk about them.
A nice guy created a thread in the eRep forum to discuss about it also.

I like your ideas. Some people have a ton of tournament decorations on their pages, so why not more actively reward ingame political activity? There are just a bunch of real ingame Ministries now, but they're there so why not reward them? It doesn't really have to be a gold reward, just a small medal showing that you've been Minister or Party President or whatever for an X amount of monts.
top5 and if not top 5 a minimum of members. that way you avoid 1-2 member parties from forming for a medal.
minister medals only if all ministries are able to get it imho.
and i do think it should work retroactively. so give me my 50 (give or take) medals!
political shouldn't be a competition for a shinny medal : )
Yes and we should work to help the society to improve, and employes should not be rewarded for doing a good job cause it's their job, but you know how people is and stimulus are needed to get good results.
employees do have rewards 🙂
countries can reward their politics with articles, money,... etc : P
i'm satisfied when job is done 😁 and even more when people happy 😛
I can reward them, but admins should do it. If you do you best because you want, good for you, I've been in many govs without rewards of any type. But increasing competitivity should be good.
it reminds me that V1 CP candidates had to select objectives for their mandates and had rewards if they achieved it.
Was so kitsch : v : D
But fighting wars should be a competition for shiny medals? We fight for fun, for territory, for brotherhood, for bonuses...
Why do we work in politics? 😁 Same reasons, mate...
fighting in a battle doesn't imply to take responsibility for one month.
we ve enough cranks as dictator for the shinny medal : v
please dont add interested noobs into politics
Any political improvement is futile as long as Dictatorships still exists in this game and admins do nothing to make the game interesting for new players.
If the lack of rewards was the problem, those parties that give rewards to their members would still be full of activity and that isn't happening.
With the political activity that we have they can be good ideas to carry new players to politic. Gold always call us 😛

Good ideas. Noobs especially should be rewarded for willingness to get involved in managing their country. With no visible rewards, I think many people see cabinet posts as just a lot of work. And they have a point.
Being appointed to a cabinet post or being elected as party president is an achievement, why not recognise it?

As it stands for efforts in the military aspect of the game (BH, CH, RH etc.), effort in the political mdule should be rewarded too!
All wonderful ideas. I agree these should be implemented.
Just a few ideas, not polished but a few of what they could do (not only with the politics):
- Remove WAM and economy fixes itself.
- Make provinces have some "weight" on political decisions, like making companies to be attached to a piece of ground.
- Make newbies able to reach old players somehow. Remove divisions, make a global division for all players and make ten top damage players of each side become battle heros, no rounds, just one.
- Make country shields, hospitals and "antiair" weapons for countries to be bought, this would incentive countries to actually need money for something other than war.
- Remove bonus as they work currently. I dont care what you do with them but this kills small countries.
- Make press module a little bit modern, allow our writters to actually use html for their press and make some kind of "private" subscription for press so the best people that make press can sell their "work".
- Remove congress as it works now, return the mayors.
- Invest some small amount of your profit in advertising for all countries, just a small advertising could bring thousands of new players every month and if three or four of each countries buy any of your god damn packs you will get profit.

you mean back to a v1 with some improvements, something like a v1.1
Good ideas! I support you!
I like idea
Could the political scenario be improved? Yes!
Will Plato do it? No!
Why not? It costs money, it won't bring Plato money.
Anyway, nice written bro!
It would be a nice start, although it's clear that the developers won't do anything just for pure entertainment. That's why political module is soo primitive right now.
Ains, dulce inocencia.
Los que se han pasado el juego no os quejeis 😛
Honestly, I don't care much about decorations... It is something simple the admins could add, but really it doesn't change the game.
To make politics more interesting more options should be available. For example renting a region from country A to country B could also be done through a law proposal, and could result in the RW option not being available for the rent duration (always 1 month?).
This single new option also would facilitate region swaps, and even unions of countries...
And I'm sure there are other options that could be given to politicians.
Right now these tags people have on their country's pages do not really change anything. The MoD has no special powers. The only purpose of the CP tagging him as MoF is to provide clarity to everyone.
It would be much better if there were real in-game implications.
For example the MoF getting the power to start votes for transfer of money from the treasury. Or the MoF getting a better overview of the whole term's income and expenses. Or the MoD getting an overview of which MUs contributed how much damage for which nations during his term...
Likewise with political parties. What is special about being spokesman? A national feed might be nice, where people from the same country can freely speak to each other. And (top-5?) political parties can sticky one message at the top of the feed, which can be put there by the spokesman or PP.
Just like the MU commander gets the top spot in the MU feed right now...
Really, there are lots of ways apart from decorations to improve the political module... So I hope the admins will do a few of these things.
Indeed the political module need to be complete modified, cause nowadays it is too much basic. But as AI said before, there would not provide (direct and fast) money to them, at that's what they are looking for, money in the short run with no effort.
My "changes" are not really changes, just adding a few lines of code that could have be done very quickly, they could even make a contest for the designs rewarding gold and I think people will create the designs for them (I myself would participate), but it's more a matter of willigness than a matter of having money and time to do it.
What you purpose would be way better, but more "difficult" to do.
Yes, my options would be more work. But in the end that is the only way to make things more worthwhile... Some shiny new medals in the end won't change anything. If a computer game is to survive nowadays, improvements have to be made continuously. And there are 2 choices you could make...
- Improvements for the few people in the absolute top, to make them even stronger if they pay you RL money. I.e. a few people paying a lot to keep the game running.
- Or improvements for the whole eSociety, bringing more people into the game. I.e. a lot of people paying a little to keep the game running. And in principle improvements for the people running the countries could also help for this.
At the moment the vast majority of players is feeling ignored by the admins. Which recent update helped the new players?
Nowadays we could tell the new players that they cannot get military success without a lot of patience (the top D1 players can collect all BH medals without gaining experience). And that the economy is no way to earn money, and politicians have no real power...
I have no clue how to convince anyone to start playing this game if this story is as valid as it seems...
